That's not better.
Well AP just announced a surprise release of one of their most popular prints.
I for one am glad I saved up, this is going to be a bloodbath and a half.
Do you think they'll pull the same shit that they did with Holy Lantern and make over 9000 MTOs?

Is this an April fools joke

What costumes do you think are going to be overdone to hell by the end of the year. Think the big three are going to be Joker,Harley and deadpool due to them all having movies this year.
The big reveal was today, I'm sure this will be overdone within the next 2 months, especially since there's already been people cosplaying her.
>>8939995
Super Matsuno Bros, Girly Insect and Kuro Neko, more Purseowners will take off as soon as another character is shown, Dangit Rompers and Trollstuck have been necromanced.
Decided to be a "Cosplay Medic" for my next con. I fix/build shit all the time and wanted to utilize my talents at my next costume and fix peoples costumes, no charge. I love cons, but it only takes 1 wardrobe malfunction, or a faulty wire to ruin someones costume and ruin their fun. I want to make sure people have a good time and not worry about their costume or prop faltering.
Main question: What sort of costume issues do ya'll deal with during cons? torn fabric, broken pieces, things not working as advertised? what kind of costume or prop issues have ya'll have in the past so I can be prepared?
>>8939768
I've rushed to the cosplay medics at cons I've gone to to use their hot glue guns to fix some armor. They had the high temp one so it went fast. Safety pins and bobby pins and hair ties. Super glue. One person next to me used one of those glasses repair kits for something. Those little sewing kits. For makeup probably sealers and powders. A lot of tape (masking/garment/duct). Scissors.
Cosplay Medics are the true heroes.
Glue of all kinds. It'd be cute to get a bandoleer and stick all sorts of different glue bottles in there. Hairspray or got2b for wigs are also a quick, easy thing to have on hand.
Also, I hope that image is just a stock thing you found and not what you're really wearing.... something about it just screams "sexy nurse" as opposed to someone fixing cosplays out of the goodness of their heart.
>>8939768
This is Captain Patch-It's gear. He's an awesome medic from Australia. The bandoleer comment reminded me of him.
Don't see a thread for this. Happening within a week. Since the post-con depression from Sakura con is hitting pretty hard, not sure if this will feel like sloppy seconds. Worth or not worth going?
ECC is ok but not my thing the only thing I like about it are the celeb and merchs. Panels are semi shlt... unless you going to the real comic con.
I'm going just because I live in Seattle and why the fuck not, but it definitely feels like sloppy seconds.
Definitely a different scene for sure, and honestly the guest list this year is not that great. We had Anthony Mackie last year (who at the time was still pretty second or third tier). I go since usually they're pretty good about having a good comic artist/writer guests.
Overall pretty much nothing like Sakura con in terms of cosplay or party scene and can get pretty boring really fast otherwise. Personally am looking forward to getting some stuff signed, but then I'm just going to meet up with some out of state friends afterwards.
What do you think of Trigger's most /cgl/ creation, Kaeru?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItFfoRzVOaE

Turning girl is awesome, I laughed so much watching it 2 frames glory.
Kaerun is my fav because yes, I relate with her so much.
>TGK is the lolita side of /cgl/
>KLK is the cosplay side of /cgl/
Is there somewhere I can watch this subbed?
I have a close friend who is working on a Kamen Rider cosplay, this is his first time working on something this big and I'm finding it hard to tell him that hiss cosplay is pretty crappy. He even went as far as to ask people for money on gofundme, asking for $150.00 to buy supplies and a belt.
>>8937009
>>8937009
Its his first time doing something like this of course its going to be a bit crappy. If he wants to do it and its not self-destructive then why not?
As for the gofundme, hes not a girl so he likely wont get anything anyway which makes it kind of irrelevant.
I don't know much about the lolita community in georgia, I just know there is one in Atlanta I think.
Will they accept me as a male? Will I make people uncomfortable with my presence or be intruding on their territory?
If not, would ANY lolita group accept me or should I just dress up at home and not go outside
>>8936770
My boyfriend wears lolita with me to meets and gets along well with everyone at meets. We're not in the Atlanta comm though so maybe they're a little different but were in Georgia still. I think you'll be fine as long as you don't act creepy.
>>8936770
you didn't need to make your own thread for this you attention seeking faggot

Whose going?
Cosplay lineups?
Tips for first time goers?
etc.
I'm wearing only J-fashion to this con and it's my first time going. How's the j-fashion scene here?
Also, the Disney guests that are coming seem amazing!
Still trying to decide wether to drive down to GA for momo or drive 10min into Raleigh for AZ. Anyone been to both? I've only been to AZ for a couple years.
>>8926964
J-fashion scene is small. There's not really a lot of content there, but maybe that'll change this year. I only saw a handful of lolitas last year.
Let's talk conventions... that you know are going to go horribly wrong the moment you lay eyes upon them.
And I'm not talking succesful cons that suddenly had epic drama and had to quit in their 5th year. I mean cons that underperformed or flat out died from the get-go.
Yes, I'm talking Dashcon levels of fail. There's too many cons in the world for it to be the only one to fall flat on it's face!
I think Newcon still falls in this category.
Having watched this thing from conception I'm surprised that thing is still limping along. Probably thanks to the staff members that arent Mike or his gang of fools, and to those that keep that thing alive color me actually impressed.
Dashcons problem was honestly that they aimed to high to fast. Having read a lot of the logs from people involved along the way (and most of whom stepped out when they realized where shit was heading) they didnt know enough about how to run a con, and decided to aim for a big con from the get go. Cons gro. You dont go to the super fancy expensive hotel your first year. You settle for renting out a smaller place of half of a bigger place and know you'll grow as your numbers, audience, and finances grow. They wanted a big con year one and didnt have the attendance or money to do it.
Omni-con in Cookeville, TN on April 2nd (this weekend).
>(accidently?) stole name from convention in Texas
>only 42 "goings" on their fb event
>not responding to emails
>someone on fb had to ask if they were a real convention
And they are claiming this is their second year- something I personally wouldn’t brag about with those stats...
Nijicon is a convention that exists but either has no advertising budget at all or something is going horribly wrong.
I hear the shit show is worse this year with them not mailing out badges in time for those that paid for that option. Can anyone confirm this fuckery?
>>8916660
I bought mailed badges on black friday. Still haven't received them. Con starts next friday.
I'm not going to be able to go this year anyway due to a work conflict. Although I'm guessing that I might have actually dodged a bullet by not going. I was almost dreading it due to the lack of info and they are still in the Sheraton which was crowded af last year not to mention the 1 hr lines to get into the big events. Luckily I've already got plans for a couple of other cons and made sure there won't be any problems with work.
I can't wait to see all the shit that goes down on here during the con.
>>8916796
I paid for mine the day after the con ended last year when they were super cheap. Still haven't gotten mine in the mail. Someone claims they saw the guy who's over them basically say he'd get to them after his spring break was over.
>>8917179
That doesn't surprise me one bit. The MTAC team has just seemed lazy this year from guest announcements to the badges. I won't be ordering tickets early next year. I'm going to wait to find out if it will be this big of a clusterfuck next year.
I want to see all the cute shit everyone's received!
>tfw doing my bills to figure out how much i can overspend on giftees
i love spending money holy fuck stop me
>>8872407
>everyone's received
Oh anon, we have till the end of the month to send our gifts, no? I'm not done yet.
I'm a little concerned my giftee didn't get my package. It days it was delivered, but to the wrong town.
