Any tips on how to style a fur hood? The demos Ive found only talk about how to add fur to things. Or how to style fur in general?

Dropped my picture like a dumb-dumb.
I'm cosplaying Nina from FEif and I'm not sure what I want to do for the striped pants/leggings. I have some white and black striped leggings that I can dye so that the white instead is grey, but my only gripe is that I don't like how the stripes aren't continuous on leggings since you have to cut the striped fabric and the lines along the seam don't line up. I wanted to use striped tights instead, since the stripes are continuous, but the only true opaque black and white striped tights that I could I found have really wide stripes that I'm not a fan of. Another option I was considering was wearing those tights that have opaque black and translucent black stripes like in pic related, and wearing black or dark grey tights under that. What do you gulls think I should do?
>just make leggings using the striped fabric
>dye the opaque tights even though the stripes are really wide
>wear opaque tights under translucent striped tights
Sorry for the shitty edit.
Why does everyone who cosplay's as a hobby creates a facebook page to post their once or twice a year cosplay? Who's it for and what's the point?
Or worse people who make a patreon to fund their cosplay with nothing to offer their donors.
>>8979563
>Why does everyone who cosplay's as a hobby creates a facebook page to post their once or twice a year cosplay?
because all it takes is one person you know to make one, then two then suddenly its the must have thing
>Who's it for and what's the point?
People who make them very quickly loose interest and stop updating them.
that's certainly a variety
>>8979563
>Or worse people who make a patreon to fund their cosplay with nothing to offer their donors.
Prestige
I know it sounds like bullshit but the mere fact that someone has a donor seems to inflate their ego and what they view their status to be to that of a quasi-professional cosplayer, regardless of skill or popularity.
Last night i had a dream about lolita and when i woke up i wondered if any of you ever had a /cgl/ related dream?
>Dream i am with my two lolita friends in Paris
>we go to a tea party
>we come in but we have to wear cat ears to enter
>once inside there is a big tombola with Misako and Mr Yan speaking in japanese
>i can totally understand despite only speaking a lick of japanese
>the tea is disgusting and a lolita is scandalized about how there isnt pizza
>an ancient efamous lolita whispers to me "psst anon go under the table to make it change"
>to make change what?
>whatever, go under the table
>wake up

>DDC comes out
>dream print yes pls
>too poor to get it during release or re-release, try to save up for secondhand
>price skyrockets
>well fuck
>at one point dream I fly to Japan
>go visit AP, there's sale
>all of the DDC is on sale
>I'm the only person in the store
>buy a crapton of DDC
>all the DDC
>wake up
>after a few seconds I realize I still don't have DDC
>mildly upset
>go back to sleep and dream I get eaten by a dinosaur
great night.

>go back to sleep and dream I get eaten by a dinosaur
That last line made me giggle out loud on the bus. Thanks a lot anon.

I kek'd
>somehow dream about robbing a spoiled bitch lolita at night
>in full gothic lolita because dreams make no sense
>suddenly police arrives
>oh shit it's the lolita police
>throw my petticoat at them and crash out the window
>some petticoats on a car roof make my fall easier

I'm running low on my It's Skin VC effector and I'm kind of curious about other vitamin c serums. Has anyone dropped this one for something better or should I just order another bottle of the same thing?
I've experienced good results with this serum lightening my PIH, which is basically the only reason I use it. My skin isn't sensitive but I'm prone to acne in my eyebrows and jawline and the PIH sticks around for so goddamn long if I don't treat it.
what are some good aliexpress sellers for general skincare products?

Or just buy from rose rose shop.
Any of you gulls ever worn lolita to Disney World/Land/other parks? Any tips, stories, coordinates, etc.? I'm going in about two weeks and need coordinate inspiration.
I plan on going to wdw in lolita a lot since I start working there in august, the tips ive been told for making it work are basically
>dont dress up like one of the princesses
>dont use the same colors as the princesses
>dont let people take pictures of you
>try to wear mickey ears with your coord to show youre a visitor not an actor
>generally do not draw attention to yourself more than it already will be
Honestly, you are picking a bad time to go in lolita. It is already pretty hot here.
For comfort: wear flat shoes, natural hair, as light of a blouse & petticoat as possible, and maybe bring ankle socks to change into.
To not get kicked out: Don't take pictures with guests, and dont cosplay. You can wear themed prints etc, just dont show up with a lavender dress and rapunzel styled wig and you'll be fine.
If you plan to ride things: make sure hair accessories are pinned down well or easily removable. Don't wear a wig because it might come off and it will be hot anyway. If you are insistant about a wig, safety pin your hair items in it.
Lastly, many castmembers are aware of what lolita is, and are lolitas themselves. If they call you princess it is because they will call anyone wearing a fancy dress that, not because they need to be schooled.
>>8988765
I work at wdw and see a lot of Lolitas. Basically just don't draw too much attention to yourself and you're golden. Castmembers generally like seeing it too.
It's getting go be really hot and humid though, so if you're really thinking of going make sure you know what you want to do.

Anyone preordering new Moitie? Or are we still awaiting its imminent collapse?

I'd do anything for Mana.
Has anyone here been to/planning to go to Anime St. Louis? Does it suck?
Never been to a con before and it's the closest to me
Hi Stl local and Midwest con veteran. This year will probably be the best. Honestly better than some of the Chicago cons I've been to. If it's close to you GIVE IT A GO!
>>8987287
Hey nice. Glad to hear it, thanks for the opinion. I saw that they have a schedule of events posted now so I'll have to give that a thorough look. I'm just not even sure what to start lol, I've never done anything like this.
If you don't mind, are there any particular events/days that you recommend? I live in southern IL so I'd just go one day.
I went to ASTL in 2013, only time I've been there because it's pretty far for me and a friend of mine needed 2 more people for her hotel room.
It was okay. For some reason, they closed the convention center in the middle of the night so everyone was locked out. Either this is a normal thing and no one told me, or they were being dicks that year in particular. Didn't really affect me majorly either way.
The people seemed pretty stuck up and it was hard to find people who were willing to have a conversation for more than a minute. Staffers were nice. I didn't know anyone there except the girl I drove up with and my boyfriend. I've had much better cons. The venue is nice and they seem to have their shit together generally speaking.
I think the old one died?

Share your feels - happy, sad, whatever. As long as they're cgl related.
Please don't go on off-topic rants and get this deleted like last time.
>been in a creative funk since gf left me in Feb
>cosplay is finally helping me out of it
Hot-gluing this sword together is a fine substitute for a lady, yes sir.
I just want everyone to have pretty dresses and have a good time, but a lot of people can't have either. I wanna cry.
If you're one of these people who's left wanting for loli shit, I'm sorry, and I love you.
>Met a girl at a con
>Play vidya with her occasionally
>going to see if she wants to go out on a date
Even when the answer is going to be 100% no, you still have to give it a shot. It's how my anime protagonists would do it

How was it this year? I moved out of state but I always enjoyed the drama this little con always seemed to produce.
Deets and pics pls
>>8981767
Overall not a bad con, certainly less debilitating drama than years past. The artists alley had shit in terms of pins though. Thinking I'll do a table with a couple friends of mine next time around.
Found some cool cosplays, but didn't get photos of pretty much any of them. I did pick up a really cool thing of layered paper art from AA. Don't remember who the artist was, but pic related is a pic I took of the thing.
Seems Santa was back again from last year, same cosplayer, new outfit. They actually passed out presents this year, which seemed kinda cool.
Is it just me or did uncle yo seem really fucking preachy this year?

This is something I always wanted to get an opinion on from /cgl/ because I've seen a few posts in different threads about it but I've never really seen threads about it. Anyway:
>Do you think kids should be permitted at cons? Or do you think it depends on the con?
>Do you think there should be an age limit when it comes to bringing children?
I'd just like to hear people's complaints or opinions on the subject, or even some stories.
>>8977892
Babies 0-4 do not do well at cons and can get trampled, stolen or sick.
However 5+ seem like an ok age to bring along, as long as the parent watches them and leaves as soon as the kid becomes miserable.
Some young kids enjoy cons and its a magical experience where all these superheroes are walking around in front of their very eyes.
Parents who neglect, ignore or use their children as props purely because they want to have fun need to be shot and their kids handed over to CPS.
I hear too many stories of people using their brats as a cosplay prop, expecting to be catored to or just refusing to take care of their kid because con is "me time". Its sickening. Don't have kids if you aren't gonna take care of them.
>>8977912
I'm ok with it, pretty much agree with >>8977912
It feels awesome when you see someone's face light up when they get excited when they see who you're dressed as, being their favorite character or something, but it feels even more genuine with a kid. A lot of the time with adults, they compliment you based on, "Hey, you got that buckle and patch right, most don't." But with kids, they're just super excited to see their hero. I appreciate when people see the hard work I put into my cosplays, but a kid getting excited is something else.
Just today at a con as I was dressed as the Lone Wanderer from Fallout, a kid came up to me (he was a Ninja Turtle, his dad was Master Chief) all excited. He asked to get his photo taken with me, I let him shoulder my Laser Rifle and gave him one of my many Nuka Cola bottle caps. He was estatic.
While I had questions as to whether a 9 year old should play Fallout (perhaps I'm overreacting, my parents abided by the ESRB ratings and I plan on it with my kids), I was more than happy with his reaction, and it reminded me that we're all emulating someone's hero here (or favorite villain, waifu, ect).
I remember one year when this guy parked his baby cart (baby included) flush against my artist alley table so he could go play in the Yu Gi Oh tournament a good 50 feet away. It wasn't an immediate brb, as weird as that would still be. The guy was gone a good half hour before I visibly saw him just hanging out playing Yu Gi Oh. 'Bout lost my fucking mind.
I had to find someone to watch my table for a sec while I carefully go move the baby cart back to the shitty dad, to which he starts freaking out at me about what the fuck I'm doing.
I get back and apparently the fucking mother with second baby sit at my table (as the guy I asked to watch my table has an emergency and had to run and wound up asking this lady as he knew her) and this one's little baby was eating my markers because the mom was not paying attention either. Fortunately they were crayola, but god fucking damn. Apparently they liked my table because it was the one within eyeshot of the YGO tournament. I try and chill out and I guess I wound up being really nice to the lady (for having a spare chair for her to sit in I guess and not cussing her or her shitty husband out). For some reason she liked me and found me on Facebook, where she proceeded to tag me in 500 pictures as Joey Wheeler and her friends as other anime characters.
Tangents aside, those parents never paid attention to their kids at cons or other events (a while later I stepped out for a smoke and found one of the babies, now able to walk, outside alone in the parking lot of a Japanese-themed arcade at 1 in the morning-- this is a shady af area of Las Vegas too-- a lot of locals were staying overnight inside the arcade for a lock-in). Shitty parents. I brought the kid in and told the parents to get a sitter or go the fuck home.
I've heard they've had CPS called on them, but I've also seen them recently with the kids. Typical, jobless bums that go to every local event they can with their untamed, unsupervised rugrats.
Old one died more than a week ago.

I follow that person on tumblr, I wish they had more coords
To help get the thread started I'll post some questions from last thread.
These questions are for the brolitas.
How did you get into the fashion?
Why do you like wearing the fashion?
How many main pieces do you have?
Do members in your Comm accept you?
How do you normally dress?
These questions are for the females.
Does your Comm have a brolita?
Does your brolita coord properly?
Is the brolita fun to hang out with?

Honestly, this looks creepy to me. If covering manly features, I'd rather just see those. Would not sit by at the meet.
