In the previous thread we had a lot of post-Animecon discussion, mentioned an 29 year old Slender cosplayer who sexually harassed a girl, shared some exclusive behind the scenes information, that waifu car, ideas for an 18+ dealer room section and finally a lot of drama involving Pedro >>9055199

Whoops, guess that's what happens when I make a new thread during a bathroom break.
>>9055395
Shit happens, literally.
I am excitedly getting ready to start working on my next cosplay, but I have a bit of a problem. Ever since growing out my beard I find myself with very few options of who I can now cosplay as. I don't want to just slap a beard onto any character, but maybe it isn't such a bad idea. What is everyone's thoughts about this trend? Should I just have fun with it, or should I be ok with the option of Thorin or...Thorin?
Either look up characters with beards or don't cosplay. If you do a character that hasn't one got one when you do, you're basically saying
> my beard is the only interesting part about me, so I JUST HAD to have it for this.
Haven't seen one of these recently! Post
'em!
Also, anyone know the group who does the Tales of Tales panel?
>tfw no qt Judas cosplayer to cosplay with
I cosplay pic related but I've never taken any pictures in said cosplay, sorry for lack of contribution.
I always tell myself I'll go to a Tales of photoshoot but never end up doing it.
>Tales of Tales panel
Do they go to multiple cons because I recall a Tales panel at Anime Midwest last year. And I'll never go to another again because it was literally nothing.

Con after con is happening each weekend nowadays. Hope all of you are in the plus and doing just fine
So how did everyone at A-kon do? It was my first year and my profits were on par with a smaller local con, so not sure how to feel.
>>9041915
I did well. On par with anime Boston, about 7k.
Anybody having issues with paying taxes for Acen? I mailed in my check and payment coupon on 05/23 but nothing has been deducted from my bank account. Is it normal for them to take this long or do you think my mail got lost? I'm getting nervous because you have to make a payment within 10 days of the event.

Did you check the catalog before making a thread, OP?
Complete makeup nub. I just want to know two things..
1) What's the best/simplest way to put this on my face? Eyeliner? Will it last all day?
2) Something for a simple thick soul patch? (non-dragon related)
I already actually have facial hair, but I guess something to fill it in a bit to give it that complete look?

Last thread is autosaging.
Summer ILD is coming up, let's get some coord suggestions and concrit going
Gargoyle-chan from last thread.
This is what I've come up with since I've decided I don't want to drop money on a new main piece.
I haven't bought the necklace or the wings yet because I wanted to get some concrit first. Is this a lost cause?
I feel like nothing really screams "gargoyle"
I recently got these, and I'm planning to wear it with gathered chiffon. Does anyone have any pics of this being worn? How do I do this properly without looking like a fool.
>>9012440
I honestly don't know why they made these, they look like hooker kei.
Thread 1: >>8857411
/cgl/ has cancer. Time for treatment.
>HOW TO PLAY
Reply to one of the 3 charts (“divisions”). The number your post ends in is your roll, which also selects your “genre”. Choose your “mode(s)” during or after your roll; this is your base point value. To keep things interesting, if you don’t like your roll, announce that you are rerolling and subtract 1 point from your base points. For hilarity, accept a negative score where applicable. (Cheat if you want, no one will know.)
Then make your outfit/cosplay and post results. Don’t worry about the trading card part yet. Templates will be created later.
>BONUSES
The Dubs Bonus Round is activated automatically when your post ends in a repeating digit. If you don’t want to complete the task associated with your digits, you must forfeit the bonus and complete the associated challenge instead, or else take the increased reroll penalty.
>SCORING
Your final score is your mode(s), minus any rerolls, THEN times your dubs bonus (if applicable). You don’t have to do your own math if you don’t want to.
>TRADING CARD
Participants will get a special /cgl/ trading card made from their final uploaded photo, division/genre, point total (converted to “experience points”) and a name and backstory. If you do not provide a (SHORT) backstory one will be given to you. If someone draws your entry, this can be used as an “alternate” trading card for you/your character. You can play as many times as you like, but each entry counts as a single character for the purposes of card creation.
>EXTRA CHARTS UNLOCKED!!
10 anons have posted their results, so the Division Template will be shared and you can create your own /cgl/-related chemo challenge, with categories/genres you decide.
>HAVE FUN
This challenge is meant to generate OC, improve skills, and entertain each other. Be creative, goofy, serious, half-assed, whatever. Just play!
Before I post the template and rules for creating your own Division, here are the three originals.
>Lolita Division
>FAQ: What is "other"?
Wa, guro, qi, a la mode, etc. Use your imagination and lolita knowledge!
>Cosplay Division
>FAQ: Wtf do I do with "other"?!
/lit/, art (fine art, Sakizo), theater (Shakespeare, musicals), radio shows/podcasts (Nightvale), folklore, monitor heads, BJDs, etc...
>Other Jfash Division
>FAQ: "What about X-kei?"
Hope for a 9.
Tell me about face paint/makeup. What type is the best? I don't like the one which dries up and begins cracking. Is it safe to have on your face for 10-12 hours? Will I completely break out for the following week?
Dos and don'ts?

The clown knows.
The clown knows all.
Heed his words.
Pic related.
>>9057589
Actually this is bullshit, if you don't powder your greasepaint you'll rub off on everything no matter how good your sealing spray is.
The aplication method is solid, but I have to assume he just. Forgot about the powder because nobody even BARELY a professional in their right fucking mind would neglect that.
>>9057603
I've used Gropey's methods, and he's IRL a professional clown from a circus family. Liberal use of a high end sealing and barrier spray did better for me than years of powders.
I'm curious, do any of you do sew-in wigs for cosplay or lolita? I figured for at least lolita it'd be easier to manage than using the ol' pinning a wig down and more stable. This wouldn't work for extravagant hairstyles of course but just wondered if anyone else did this?
>>9057180
I use braid in dreads and yarn braids for Dark Mori. Never tried a sew in but I'd like to. My hair is super thick and curly so it doesn't grow long well.
>>9057239
White people with dreads is also so gross looking. Why.
>>9057239
I don't know if it's the filter you're using or what but those dreads look like literal dog poop
Summer calls for underwater photoshoots. I figured this topic could be discussed enough that it warranted it's own thread instead of clustering the help general. Tips and tricks for both cosplayers and photographers?
>>9054717
Okay but why is Judar underwater? Is it just for fun or am I forgetting a specific Magi reference?
Photographer here. I tried underwater photography last summer for the first time with some really ghetto equipment and no assistants. It's hard if you're doing it alone with no-one holding you at the bottom while you're taking the picture, but it's fun nonetheless. I'll be doing it again this summer.
There's a lot of improvement still but practice maker perfect, I guess.
saw a photographer last year, maybe the year before, doing some underwater shots at the old AnimeNEXT in the pool with some cosplayers fromFree
I'm planning a trip to Japan, and I was wondering how often (if ever) foreigners are street snapped for print or online publications. The only ones I've seen were of minor/ e-celebrities which makes me think it doesn't happen very often.
>>9053891
street snaps are generally planned, they don't really just pick out people on the street often
>>9053895
Oh, that definitely makes sense. I've heard they find shop girls getting off shift.
some magazines announce when and where they will be, then you can get your picture taken and you may or not make it to the magazine
What are some of your favorite stores/items gulls?

OP, when you start a thread you need to dump content to start it off...
I miss Suppurate System.

In the previous thread we discussed cosplayers doing porn, CMV’s, and then of course there was Animecon. Lots of preparing, post-con discussion and the /CGL/ meet which wasn't anything like I had imagined it. Make sure to give it a read if you enjoy behind the scenes stories.
So how did everyone enjoy Animecon? Any fun stories, pictures, behind the scenes information or drama you want to share?

Let the witch hunt for the slendy cosplayer begin
Heard an ambulance got called for someone who drank too much.
Did anyone here go to animenext?
Was p fun, though it was one of my first anime cons
>>9051074
It was kinda barren this year but pretty okay.
I liked the new location really, it had a lot more space and I did well to avoid the rest of AC. Seems a lot of people didn't come this time because of the move, but maybe that will change in the next few years.
One thing I didn't like was the con organization, it seemed like a failed attempt at actually making it organized, they missed time slots a few times but eh, first time at a new location I can forgive it.
I found it fun and I'll more likely be going back next year.
Post good coords with Taobao main pieces.

That hideous, giant fur bow and mismatching purse stand out so much. Everything else is mediocre.
