New mail thread.
Just a blouse, socks, and some molds. Expecting to get in on a group taobao order of stuff later as well.
Reposting as I didn't realize the last thread was on it's way out.
Just got Homura's dress and tights set. Tbh I wasn't expecting much, but I quite like it and think it fits well even with my wide shoulders.
Some people (including myself) were irked that the skeletal feet weren't mirrored at the bottom. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the print is the exact same on the back, except the feet are printed in the opposite direction and there's a tiny copyright at the toes. So long as I'm not wearing open toe shoes, one side can be worn backwards so that the feet match properly.
Anyone here tried out the Kawaii Box? I've never done a monthly subscription thing before, but I really want to try this out, but I'm considering just splurging on the 1 year subscription...
Any thoughts?

You'll get a box filled with cheap daiso trash for one year every month...I'm not sure if this is actually worth the money
I feel like I could get 10x the amount of cute stuff for way less at aliexpress or something.
Hmmm it seems food is included too and it's free shipping.. I'll keep this in mind.

One thing I hate is cosplayers posting WIPs to 'ask for concrit' but sperg out the second you give them any concrit. I can sugarcoat like nobody's business but if your satin skirt is glued together with mod podge and you specifically ask for help, you have to accept that people will tell you that you need to improve.
As for cons, I just really hate neckbeards who latch onto people and follow them around the whole time. You'd think they'd get the damn hint after being repeatedly asked to leave, but that just means you're tsundere and want it secretly~ and they keep on tailing you like a lost whale until Mummy comes to pick them up.
Maybe I'm just incredibly unlucky and nobody else really has that as a recurring problem, idk.
>>9113420
>mainly there for the dance party
Most con raves are shit, most room parties (the ones I've been to, at least) have a distinctly weeby vibe, and the whole point of the damn con is that it's about anime.
I just don't understand people like that either, you want to party so bad then go to a nightclub. You'll have better music and better drinks.
No online comm thread? Let's fix that

Yeah, I don't see a problem. It's not the most awesome lolita blouse but it's fine.
What happened to the last thread? I'm pretty sure it didn't autosage - was it deleted for some reason?

Hey there /cgl/. This is my first cosplay ever, and I decided to do Naked Snake from MGS3.
Personally I think it looks okay at the moment, but I am working on the harness and switchbox at the moment and I think it'll look a lot better than it does currently. I am considering on doing a bit of a cut to try to lose some weight, but I'm not sure.
Any advice or tips on how to improve it? How about tips for cosplaying in general? I'm heading to AnimeMidwest as my first con as well.

Server now has a domain name:
http://xyzzy.gulls.co
Add your own cards here:
http://xyzzy.gulls.co/addcard.jsp
Rules for adding cards:
Always leave draw 0 for black cards.
Use four underscores "____" for your blanks in the black cards.
Watermark your cards CON for Convention related cards, COS for Cosplay related cards, EGL for Lolita cards, and CGL for both Cosplay and Lolita cards or /cgl/ board specific cards.
If mistakes are made when adding cards, post what the card was and what needs fixing in the thread, I will have to manually change this in the database.
Card suggestions may also be made here in the thread and will be added by either myself or CAH anon.
A donation button has now been added to the game after login next to the "Log out" button in the upper right hand corner. The funds from the donations will go towards the costs of keeping the servers up and the domain maintained. Any extra cash will be used to fund further gulls.co projects such as a /cgl/ wiki.
Have fun and post your favorite caps here!

Does anyone know of a real life shoulder detail that looks like somewhat this? It's not an action back because the flap extends to the front. My guess is it's supposed to represent taking in the shoulder due to Kino's small stature.
From what I can tell, this dollfie clothing is accurate to the original art. It appears that the shoulder was taken in leaving a flap of cloth on the outside. I tried to pin up a shirt this was, and as expected it seemed off. It's going to be hard to sew and also get the desired fit. I might also end up with unusually pointy shoulders.
I'm considering leaving out the shoulder detail, since it's an oddity in the first place, no one cares, and it will look off, but maybe I'm misunderstanding what the shoulder detail is. If I can figure it out, I'd like to do it.

Also does anyone have any examples of a real life collar like that in the back? I don't think these details were random on the part of the artist, but they're unfamiliar to me.

Hey gulls
When or where do you wear lolita?
I've recently started buying pieces for my wardrobe, I have two full coords, but I never know when to wear them...
I only have one friend and she would probably think it was super weird if I dressed up when we went out.
It feels weird to dress up when I'm going out with my family.
As for when, I never feel like there's a good opportunity.
Going shopping? Feels to casual. Going to a restaurant? Don't want to spill on my shit.
The only time I feel like the only time it would feel normal to me would be during a convention or something, where there's other people dressed up, but that obviously shouldn't be the only time to wear it..
People will think it's weird for any occasion. That's why it's alt fashion and not normie fashion. I wear lolita literally anywhere except if I have to work in the mud.
>>9146152
I'm in the same boat anon. I never know where to wear lolita. I never have an occasion for it...
I want to become a lolita, you say.
So become one, I reply.
What can I do to look like a lolita?
I have no words with which to reply to this.
You need a headdress, don't you? And a pannier.
Is this coordinate strange?
Is it not wrong for lolita?
Why do you want to do lolita?
Because it's trendy, because my friends do it...
If that's the case, you have no right to wear lolita.
If you just do what the others do, you will look like a lolita.
But I want you to think about something.
Who do you live for?
You think you want to be yourself, but you are afraid of isolation.
You yell that you want to be free, but you take comfort in following convention.
When you are praised for something you don't even feel comfortable with, are you really satisfied?
Girls who wear Vivienne Westwood but don't even know the Sex Pistols.
Even when wearing a jersey, a princess is a princess.
My lolita rules are mine alone.
So you are the only one who can find your own lolita rules.
My god and your god are different, aren't they?
There are angels who wear elegant dresses and play tamborines,
But there are also angels wearing armor and carrying swords whose job it is to fight.
I can't answer your question.
But there are a lot of hints all around you.
You just haven't noticed yet.
What you feel is right is your answer.
Sew frills onto the hem of your heart!
Put a tiara on top of your soul!
Have pride.

>>9144361
Without the veil/peignoir hybrid and the strange silver thing, the headdress would look pretty cute. This coord needs to be scrapped, though. Even the slightest bit of poor would offer a bit of improvement, and that top needs to get out.
