>TerraCon (November 27th, Houten UT) is a convention for reptiles who like anime.
>Retrocon (November 27th, Rotterdam ZH) is a retro gaming fair. Just keep in mind Duck Hunt does not work on a flatscreen TV.
>Midwinter Fantasy Fair (November 10th & 11th, Alphen aan den Rijn ZH) is a fair targetted at fantasy.
>Dutch Comic Con Xmas Edition (December 17th & 18th, Utrecht UT) is a pretty self-explanatory title don't you think?

>So now that Halloween is over, what do you guys think about all those Harley quinn cosplayers taking over conventions and shit?
Every year has its own hand full of "popular/hyped" characters that get cosplayed to death. I can see why people cosplay those characters (riding the hype train for your fans, genuine love for the character, easier to do group cosplays with), but personally seeing so many of the same character just makes me stop noticing them altogether. Well, unless they are pulled off really good in both costume and act (if any).
As a fatty-chan it does piss me off when good looking woman wear a shitty costume and get tons of likes.
Because that makes several men think that girls need to be attractive in order to cosplay, and think it's ok to hate on any cosplayer that doesn't forfill their fantasy. Whether it's a girl being too fat or flatchested. But yeah sex sells, my only cleavage pic has at least twice as many views as any of my other ones.
Simplicity finally found their answer to McCall's Yaya Han collection with Riddle, and just released their own bodysuit pattern.
>Thoughts on the pattern itself?
>Hopes/Dreads for what type of patterns will come next from this line?
>Who do you think the next cosplayer will be to slap their name on some sewing patterns?
>General thoughts and opinions on how saturated the sewing pattern market is with cosplay patterns now
In general, I'm kind of disappointed with this pattern: it doesn't fit her well, it's a blatant knock off of Yaya Han's bodysuit pattern, and I don't even think Riddle designed it, just modeled it and put her name on the package.
They even shooped out the drag lines and wrinkles for the package, but included the unshooped pictures on the website?
How do I make friends at a con without coming off as as creepy or desperate?
Whether you're in an online comm, or are part of a local group, feel free to share any of your negative, or even downright horrifying experiences.

Ok so I'm with you on the rest of this, she's a fucking shitbag and god bless you and your comm for babysitting her weeb ass, but here, right fucking here, is where you all should've told her the fuck off.
>1. Our comm has a rule against people under 16 and we have generously allowed you to stay
>2. You have on more than one occasion in this meetup alone publicly embarrassed us
>3. You insisted on coming along to eat at a restaurant where you did not have enough money to pay for the food you bought
>What you need to do, cringe-chan, is call your mommy or whoever your guardian is, and tell them you're at a restaurant and can't cover the rest of your bill, and then tell them to pick you up. If they want to know why, we will be glad to let them know.
Anybody got any recommendations for jfashion youtubers? I'm subscribed to some (like Lovely Lor, peachymilktea, Rinrin doll) already but it would be cool to see some newer channels, preferably non-lolita.
Also anyone miss Kawaii Pateen's old style? I liked their videos from a year ago better when they showed coords and had hair tutorials with less "vlog" style stuff and and no weird editing
I follow quite a lot but they are mostly japanese.
I have my YouTube location set to Japan so I get a lot of makeup channels in the suggestions but kawaii ones seem to be rare in comparison to gal.
Exactly what it says on the can. Post "wtf burando" moments.
Does anyone know what is going on with the World Cosplay Summit United States? The facebook pages are down and the website has this weird message about Japan.
I'm assuming they may not be getting renewed due to all the trouble they've caused? can't have a cosplay contest through conventions if no con will host you.
I hope they overhaul the management.
Old thread is kill:
ITT: We talk about anything related to crossplaying (males cosplaying as females & females cosplaying as males) and crossdressing
- help /questions / seeking advice to improve
- pictures of good crossplays
- your personal story of crossplaying
In my experiences, Halloween leaves lower expectations, and that makes it easier to dress up without going the full 9 yards just to go out for a day. But I do agree that it can get rough, especially with alcohol involved.
Self post to your hearts content and post mirror shots/selfies that inspire your daily fashion. All Jfashion welcome!
New coord help thread since old one hit limit:
If you're new to lolita, read here first before posting: http://thelolitaguidebook.tumblr.com/
Ooh, great, I just needed this thread
So I'm getting this JSK and vest, because I kinda fell in love with it, but I'm really unsure about how to coord it. I'm generally pretty bad when it comes to coording, but usually I can just go of the print of the dress...
I'm not sure if I should go with wine or brown for shoes or something else
I made a quick collage with the ideas I have, if anyone could give me some concrit or ideas, I'd appreciate it a lot!
Also, I know nothing really matches, I'll obviusly make sure the things I get actually match, I just wanna know what colors to go with, and what style on the shoes...
Oh, and lastly, all the shoes except the bodyline boots come in both brown, navy and wine, so I can pick them in different colors
>inb4 shit taste or whatever
Yes I know, that's why I'd prefer to get other peoples thoughts before ordering..
With the release of the four new Star Guardian skins, we KNOW where this will lead: a whole new wave of shitty cosplays as the race for OMGFIRST begins.
Let's take a look, shall we? :^)
It's been a while since this thread was created. Well post cringe, your progress, plans, etc
Gulls, what items have you picked up at normalfag stores that work with J-fash? Do you have any tips for finding compatible items?
I think its possible to find cardigans and blouses at non-lolita stores, but you have to have a good idea for what details make an item "loliable" or be craft-y enough to add things yourself. I think its probably something that beginners shouldn't try.
That being said H&M and Forever 21 have some suitable blouses and H&M has some sweaters that are decent.
OP here. Inspired to make this thread because I found a bunch of frilly socks at walmart this weekend on clearance. Would love to see how other gulls supplement their wardrobes! I dress in mostly casual cute and himekaji.
basics like camis, socks, and the like are cheaper to buy in a normalfag store than to import. like >>9248540 said, you can find nice cardigans, sweaters, and sometimes accessories (mostly hats and jewelry) from normalfag places.
I have several of Kate Spade's novelty purses that I use for jfash as well. They've got a really cute pastel cross body this month that looks like a makeup palette.
