last time we started talking about cosplay progress , let's not fuck this thread up right away.
that being said, It's almost december and I can't decide to wear my only christmas cosplay or something else
By the way, I'll be out of the country from Thursday night until Monday night. If this thread manages to reach the post limit before then (or flat out dies) I would really appreciate it if someone else started a new thread. Just copypase the con agenda and use any image you like although you'll receive mad kudos for using one with Tully.
I also did a minor overhaul of the con agenda. Each event now includes a short summary, address and a link to its website and/or Facebook event. If I'm missing any events you can always post it here so I can add it.
We have these threads every once in a while, and they're good for a quick laugh, and since everyone is spending time with family for the holidays, now is a great time
Last three girls I dated (in order):
>dressed up with me but didn't know anything about lolita
>"when will you grow out of this, anon?"
>sends me articles about cosplay competitions (i don't correct him)
>one doesn't care, other said something about "kawaii"
>grandfather who barely speaks english
And for stories
>little girl once asked me how i made my skirt "so fat"
>another asked to feel the feathers on my bonnet
> Friends of friends
> "Wow, you could make money off of this! Have you ever thought about selling this stuff/teaching people how to make this stuff/becoming a costume designer for movies?!"
Flattering and encouraging, but they don't understand that it's not that easy and my craftsmanship is not yet top tier.
>On the train in lolita
>Standing next to a mother with a little girl in a pram
>Little girl suddenly blurts out "You're so pretty"
>Smile and say thank you
>Little girl hides her face in embarrassment until I get off the train
Kids are so cute.
Old one is full
Poor snowflake got their feefees hurt and wants to protect the rest of the fakeboi/~genderless~ from the mean old "30-40 year old cis white men" on 4chan.
Throwing in some highlights from the comments.
>name on facebook is becca
>"no, call me felix"
>4chan is bible thumping mean girls?
Apparently cgl is JUST about making fun of lolitas. Definitely nothing else.
Not Santa's Helper, just thought we could use a new thread. Chat with your giftees/secret santas and spread the holiday cheer!
>Grinched gift signup and check will be on January 15th, 2017, unless you guys decide otherwise.
SH of NSW, would you wear non-lolita clothes like a t-shirt or sweater? It probably isn't cold enough there at any point of the year for mittens, a scarf, or a hat, right?
>tfw I want to get you cute Canadian clothing and stuff but it's all meant for cold weather
KB from PA and MSC from Mexico, I've ordered your gifts, and they should be arriving soon. KB, one of yours is coming from overseas so I hope it'll get to me soon.
Here's to hoping that I'll be able to mail by the first week of December!
So now that Eirtakon's ''''over'''' and done with, what's going to fill the vacant space? Anyone heading to Akumacon in January?
Hey /cgl/, have you ever had sex in a con? Share your experience.
>work from home
I got to cons twice a year, and have tons of sex each time, like I'm fucking making up for lost time. I'm an actual literal attention whore and going from not talking to anyone for months to getting nonstop attention for dressing up turns me into a huge whore, I hate myself for it so much

Winter ILD is coming. Any special plans?
My comms having a swap meet this weekend and with ILD around the corner I'm not sure they're going to do anything for it.
Wouldn't mind an ice skating thing or hot cocoa and cookies sorta tea party.
Since we need one of these threads every week, what the correct etiquette to cosplaying an albino character? Especially if you aren't white, should you paint yourself white, or no?
Aliexpress a great alternative to ebay, and small order alternative to Taobao.
>Makeup, sex toys, food, and things that go in/on you aren't guaranteed to comply with safety standards
>You won't be able to claim compensation on Aliexpress if products harm you, use your discretion.
>Electronics? Visit >>>/g/ and search for /csg/ and ask your questions there
>Large Order? Check out the Taobao thread
>Ask questions and buy at your own risk. Stay savvy!
Also: if anyone was wondering where to buy this
I want to be cutecore. /fa/ told me to come to you all. what are some cute brands?
Thoughts on handmade lolita? IMO it's mostly shit, but anytime I see someone who makes it look good, I'm real impressed
I like to make stuff myself when I have the time and love seeing good handmade clothes, but unfortunately most of what people post is shit. There are two girls in my comm who have been sewing lolita for more than five years but still get the silhouette wrong and can't figure out basic shit like matching the zipper to the color of the fabric. It's depressing.
Adding to that, several of the people I used to follow for good handmade lolita have become completely inactive online.
I'd love to see what other gulls have worked on but these threads always end up hatefests. That's why no one posts anything they've made
Can't find an Aussie thread so...
Aus Thread: No more con's edition
Brisnova came and went this weekend so who won the comps? Post good cosplays/cosplay drama because we all know we can't have an Aus thread without *drama*
I'll start with this Jinx who had all three weapons that she made herself.
old thread is saging→
>NEW! Frequently Asked Questions
>Taobao/Alibaba services (broken link)
>How to order from Vograce (now with video on how to set up files)
>Convention List (WIP)
What do you guys do on the 'off' season? I sold at my first con this summer (also attended an art show) and now I'm excited to do more but con season is pretty much over. I've been working on new merch for next year but it just sucks. I applied to the few winter cons in the area but I waited too long and ended up waitlisted.
My problem is that my work doesn't usually fit in with most of the smaller art fairs. Everything here is mostly fine art or craft shows. My work is more horror oriented/surrealist and it's hard for me to find shows in general. I get into the anime cons and I recently tried a sci-fi con. I haven't been rejected from anything as of yet but it would be nice to find some place that I felt my work was more suited to.
