What kept her going was herself and protecting Mitakihara's people from witches, probably anything else that would have reared its ugly head too.

I know Gen hates Justice and wants seemingly everyone to be a hedonist, but goddamn. Even the writers can't remember what pushes her to continue to be a Magical Girl is her constant reminder of her failures and mistakes and her attempts to not allow them to happen again as well as learn from them. I'd post the video from the PSP game but that's from the path she commits suicide for being unable to save everyone and Homura's just just having a flashback to what Mami told her. That's one of the the last thing's I'd want to post here.
