There's no reason for it to happen on /c/ of all places either and yet here we are. Eva as a franchise has some of the most beloved waifus/husbandos across any medium and quite possibly the most bitter hatred between their respective fans. I have some experience with this personally. I used to be frequent /hr/ years ago, posted a lot (I've since abandoned 3d pig disgusting and ascended to pure 2d girls). Every thread there we had people starting shit and it overall just turned into a mess. I personally tried something similar,tried to migrate to a specific board on a different website.. It doesn't really work unless a lot of people on board, you lose a lot of the more average users, and it tends to die out (happened in my case, and I lost interest all together)

Thing is, several months ago an anon here mentioned plans for a site of that name, it was to be a booru style catalog of all images and stills of Rei, maybe with a forum or comments section attached but I can't recall. Reaction to this was unanimously positive because it served an actual purpose that nothing we have now does.

That Anon is me though. The site was first implemented in python. I then realize that python is crap, and that delivering content through rendered html is archaic. So while I learned lots of things, I've moved on to javascript + Vue and Golang. I have pretty lofty goals with this actually.

Nice selection of stuff and the archive site lets you download all of a thread's images in one, just watch out for dupes as you do multiple threads.

Sites like gelbooru and safebooru are really good resources for official stuff and fan art, just search for the tags you want and you're good to go. The only thing to really note is to use underscores for tags with multiple words and to put the surname first, so in the case of Rei you search for ayanami_rei.

Popular site for Jap fanart and so has a fuckload of content, but requires a bit more to use it. You need to make a free account to save images and need a paid one for some additional functionality, the main thing being able to sort results by anything other than date. However, despite how long it can take I'd really recommend anyone here go through the entire results for Rei. So the way they're ordered doesn't really matter and keeping up to date after that only requires sorting by date, making a paid account unnecessary. Also, while you can use the site as a whole in English the tags aren't translated, so you'll want to search for 綾波レイ. A few baka gaijin also use it so you'll find some stuff under any combo of Rei and Ayanami as well as the words by themselves.
