Hey /biz/! Any successful swing traders out there?

I'm a web dev who's been investing for quite some time, and now feel confident enough to start exploring ways to trade while I work. I think the sweet spot would be where one can combine both fundamental and technical factors (the latter mostly for timing) but I have absolutely no idea where to start. Most blogs usually have these super specific magic patterns which "always" work, as in:
>long straddle the usd/eur when it's raining outside and the williams %r is below its 62/311 ema, its literally free money
and while they surely work to some degree, it's seems full on retarded to cherry pick one of these patterns at random.

Talk to me anon - how'd you start out?
>>
>pick a volatile stock
>wait for Implied Volatility to be low and price consolidating around a weekly/monthly high or low
>buy a long straddle

bamp

come on biz, you can do this
>>
>>988241
How much money do you have? Who's your broker?
>>
>>988387
About $25k, and my broker is probably irrelevant as I'm from a teeny tiny European country
>>
>>988404
Well 25k is a decent start, but you're broker determines your fees and your trading platforms. Get a papertrading account to learn how there's works. And you should test any theory you have over six months to be sure it's profitable.

ASTI already dipping back down kek. Also people on Stocktwits are fucking idiots.

Oops wrong thread lol

>how'd you start out?
by trading imaginary money to test my autistic theories
>>
>>988241
I wouldn't try to work a job and trade at the same time.
You're almost guaranteed to fuck one or both up.
