When a stock opens it always has a daily high and a daily low.

Buy on the low, sell on the high and no matter the stock you will make money .

Opinion on atlassian's (TEAM) upcoming ipo?
>>
>>985749
i dont trust asians and i dont trust IPOs
>>
>>985717
I always thought good stock trades were like huge earnings. So I always though that when it grew from $1000 to $9.4k (had to check) in 8 years I had to wait longer. And I was told since [Primerica] is in life/health insurance that it will always grow since people always will get life/health insurance. Is it possible to not pull all of it out?

I'm completely new at this guys.
>>
Bought 14 bucks of ASTI. Time for me to get meme'd.

Should have waited for it to drop more. It's on a downswing. I'm watching for .11 to .12 for my entry

If I have a stock that pays me dividends, does the money get added to my robinhoob account? Do I have the ability to reinvest it?

I would suggest people look at Solar City ( scty ) do your research before investing. I personally have read a lot on this company and have strong reason to believe their stock will be high during their first quarter next year. I'm think 50 a share.
>>
>>985884
do you really think shilling on /biz/ is gonna make a stock jump 71% in one quarter
>>
>>985884
>If I have a stock that pays me dividends, does the money get added to my robinhoob account? Do I have the ability to reinvest it?

Yes it does, it shows up as a cash in your account a few days after the pay date. There is no auto-reinvest currently the last I saw.
>>
>>985891
It has nothing too do with /biz/ investing into stcy. The company sells more product then all other competitors combined, they are finally going to slow their 70% expansion sense the start of the company in order to show the positive cash flow. Positive cash flow reassures investors. Elon musk just bought 36 million dollars in shares this last week.

It's time, my body is ready.

My main account is at TDA, I put $2500 into RH to play around with (Mostly to pair it with Quantopian)
>>
>>986323
I have an algo I set up on Quantopian that will seek out stocks that have X volume over 3 months, compare it with X volume one month, then finally compare with X volume for 1 day.

TLDR I try to ride volume bursts and pump n' dumps. I never get greedy, I get in and take my ~10% and get out.

>>984081
>>
Can you fund a Robinhood account with a debit card?
>>
>>986860
Yes.
>>
>>986497
It is mostly just speculation on these smaller stocks. Think they will start turning a profit in the near future? buy. Think they are going no where and will eventually be forced to issue more shares for funding or go bankrupt? Sell. quarterly reports, small meaningless news articles and such can lead to huge spikes in penny stocks.
>>
>>986497
Watch Shrekeli's videos if you want to learn about proper security analysis. As for penny stocks, they are rock bottom for a reason. They are failed companies that have zero investor confidence, and will never see a real rise without a move such as KBIO. You can use level 2 trade analysis to come up with "resistance points", and look at volume to see how volatile it is for the day, but in the end its just gambling and no fancy words some shady marketer on youtube can say will change that.
>>

Bought in at .15 too and think it was a mistake. Going to double down whenever it dips then sell just as soon as it has an upswing. Think .15 was getting in way too high. Soon as I make money off it I'll probably just get back in.

Is there any reason not to just keep riding the same stocks over and over forever?

Time to watch $TLOG going into 2016.

They announced/went over results of 1a/b 2a in Orlando this past weekend and the results were great, and well received.

Currently there is an accumulation period going on due to their investor having warrants to buy into '16. I've got 15,000 shares total now, so we'll see how it goes today pending the news that happened, and in Q1 2016 when they announce phase 2b for their MDS study.

I'M THE ONE WHO STARTED THE ORIGINAL /RGT/ THREAD

I copied and pasted the /dbt/ from /o/ (moot's favorite thread lol) and edited it to pertain to Robinhood since I kept seeing scattered posts about it on the home page. I figured we should consolidate them all into one. THIS IS, IN FACT, A STOCKS GENERAL THREAD. Hence I wrote -

>Stock Questions & Answers
>Stock Predictions & Forecasts
>Stock Graphs & Charts
>Stock Successes & Failures
>Stock Highlights & News

All stock related conversations are welcome here. Granted MOST PEOPLE will be using Robinhood to trade because it's free. And that's why stock general threads NEVER WORK, because people think it costs money to trade so they would just glaze over those threads.

THE POINT OF /RGT/ is to, from a glance of the homepage, show new visitors of /biz/ that they can trade stocks for free as most people don't know this (myself included until I saw it on /biz/). This is why most thread images have something about "free stock trading" in them and show a phone screenshot. It shows new people you can trade for free and you don't need fancy software to do it. This gets people trading and talking and attracts more people to the threads.

Just because someone isn't using Robinhood doesn't mean they can't buy/sell some of the same stocks you can. Granted there are some limitations, but any info/tips on hot stocks is always a good thing. /biz/ should not be your number one source for stocks anyway, you should be researching on your own. /rgt/ is only a guideline where we can exchange what we've researched.

On a final note, get the fucking format correct and keep it consistent, jesus christ people.

Happy trading guys.
>>
>>988828

fuck off, nobody want these threads being shit up with stuff about foreign markets/short selling/etc. if you can't do it in robinhood. If you think people want to discuss that stuff, then there's no reason not to make another thread/general about it.

You're doing them an enormous disservice. Do everyone a favor and lose the "trading" part. RH isn't for traders.
You should include:
>gambling on penny stocks

and get rid of the rest of it. That's all that's going on here anyway.

I don't have enough investment money to piss on. Gambling penny stocks is ok by me.
>>
>>988857
No but it can give one an assumption about a stock.

A .20 stock given a $3 target, which previously had no target at all, can let us assume we are going to see growth take place.

They have a government contract now and can start filling orders on the 15th. One can assume a few agencies want to give the MilPak E a try. The stock is still cheap. If you have unused cash sitting in the bank it might not be a bad idea to throw some into this stock.
>>
>>988878
is it reasonable to assume it'll go to a dollar or is it going to buoy around .20-.30 then plummet back in the .14's? Or does this contract give it a new support point?
>>
>>988872
It's ok by me, too, but call a spade a spade.
This thread should be just for RobinHood. What's going on here is nothing like trading, that's why that shit should have it's own.
Otherwise, it's the same shit every day, traders bitching that the people here are idiots who don't know what they're doing, and the people here telling traders to fuck off with their commissioned brokerages.

This depends on what happens on the 15h. I'm sure the hype will make it spike once again. We will see how many orders the Feds want. If product starts selling then we will see it climb gradually.

Once (if) revenue starts coming in Id expect a gradual climb upwards.

Question:

Why doesn't everyone invest in a company right before they know the company is going to make money?
Like investing in Apple right before they release the new iPhone, then cashing it when it reaches its peak?
>>
>>989156
yeah guys its so easy hes right lets all just do this

tell me what to buy next friend
>>
>>989156

I'm sure many people do. But just doing that doesn't always guarantee something good will happen. Not all new product releases are good.

Then again, I wonder, what's the prediction on Disney's stock the Monday after the new Star Wars movie comes out?
>>
>>989156
everyone is already doing the same thing at the same time or earlier than you are
>>
>>989149
Doesn't matter, that money is still profit and really just stops me from losing it.
Let's say I buy ten stocks at 20 cent and they jump to 40 cent then I sell.
That's four dollars made from two and I keep going on with the rest of my buying power, and receive profit in three days.
Or am I just missing something?
>>
>>989160
It really depends on a lot of factors. They can forecast box office numbers and merchandise sales but can still be off by a large magnitude. Regardless, if the movie is a huge hit (which it will be) the stock will go up even though it's already priced in. You can expect it to dip down after Christmas if the merchandise sales fall below thier projections.
>>
>>989156
People already do that. And guess what... it doesnt always work! Apples stocks actually went down when the Iphone 6s was released. Then they came back up to the same price.

No one can predict the stock market
>>
>>989168
I know. But yeah, it will go up initially if the movie is seen to have an amazing open, which I'm sure it will.

I've never dabbled in day trading before, but I'd love to. Aside from watching Bloomberg and MSNBC and doing some online reading, I just don't know what stocks to pick. I don't know enough about what to look for aside from the old adage that you should feel comfortable buying stocks from companies of products you normally buy (as they're probably doing decent).
>>
>>989176
Stock prices all boil down to investor confidence. Certain events will strengthen that confidence and others will weaken it. As most people who have money tied up in the market will tell you, mostly every known event is already priced in. There are people whos job it is to sit at desks all day crunching data and forecasting sales and revenue, running algorithms, keeping track of current events, etc. Even then a lot of the market is fickle because people are irrational. Some whales dump just because they want to cash out to buy another yacht for their collection or because the number 66 is superstitious to them and it's June 6th. This could start a chain reaction and adversely affect stock price. There really is no way to 100% be sure of a stock move unless you have insider knowledge and act before they do. However... because a lot of the market is based on psychological factors, if you can predict how people think you can understand how they will react to certain events. Although you will never beat the super computers that calculate market sentiment in real time, often you can beat the casual investors if you can react before they do.
>>
>>989211
That being said, what is your best advice on starting to day trade? Take the stocks that comprise the major indexes and setup a nice dart board? (No, I'm not being serious)

I don't expect to double my money overnight or anything nearly that good, but being able to make somewhat of informed choices instead of just "hey I like the name of that stock" or "I too eat at Chipotle" would be preferable.
>>
>>989218
Learning how to read and understand a 10-k and a 10-q is a start. You don't necessarily need to be an accountant, you just need to be able to understand how this information relates to stock price. The difference between the 2 earnings reports is that the 10-q is quarterly and typically unaudited. Pay attention to how these numbers trend as it relates to actual stock performance.

Who here wants to make some big bucks??

Last Friday i told you guys about Sfxe. It was trading at a price close to its all time low (0.22).

On that day the stock jumped by 15%.

Today it jumped by 13%.

As it stands, this is still a great bottom price to get in.

The stock will go to $1+ very soon and from there it will reach its original price of $5 for which it had been trading just a year ago. It has great potential. The owner is a billionaire and edm is a booming market.

If youre looking for a new booming pennystock, sfxe is your golden ticket.

Its a penny stock that has been trading close to its all time low. Bankruptcy talks are hardly surprising. Fact of the matter is that a lot of companies are interested in Sfxe but they are hoping for it to go bankrupt so it can pick up its biggest assets for dirtcheap.

It wont go bankrupt though.

The entire point is that this stock is a huge sink or swim right now. Either it tanks and you lose a few coins or it blows up and you gain a whole lot more.

Considering the history and potential of the company (Edm is a enormous booming worldwide market in which Sfxe has been a frontrunner), the owner is a billionaire with a huge ego and the brand value it has in the dancescene (owning id&t and awakenings which are two of the most recognized brands/party organisers in the dance scene) Sfxe will bounce back to its original price in the long run.

It is a great buy and has real value that your average memestock lacks.

nigga robinhood is for speculating, the whole appeal is that there's no transaction fee so you can move stuff around quickly as much as you want. may as well go to a real stock broker if you're going to throw down your life savings into something and sit on it for 15+ years
