Non Target School here trying to get internships, and there are alot of factors in choosing what exactly part of finance you would like to do. But no matter the sector of finance the key is to NETWORK NETWORK NETWORK

Seriously, network your ass off. If you have over a 3.5, do the bare minimum to maintain that 3.5+ GPA and spend most of your time reaching out to alumni, people on linkedin, and people from google searches of firms.

I have about 50-60 emails sent out (which is nothing. I know people who have sent hundreds) and a few phone calls and interviews.

Be persistent. It will come eventually. But persistence is key.

Go for banks in the southwest, specifically Texas. They all deal with Oil companies, so they will like the experience. Tough you will need a bachelor's at least.
