Back in the mid 2000s was the "golden age" of black friday/cyber monday. Nowadays, there simply are no "deals" and the only way to truly find good prices on shit is to physically enter stores and stalk the clearance racks/open box/etc shit.

Basically, we've gone so far forwards that we're backwards again.

My friends and I were looking to help one of us build a new computer, but we found really nothing that compelled us to buy today. All the meaty hardware like CPUs and GPUs don't get marked down, its just high margin stuff like hard drives and software.
