Can someone explain to a non-American why the fuck a company that
>consistently considered one of the worst in the country
>that treats its customers like shit
>routinely in controversies over it's practices
Is doing amazingly well in every conceivable measure other than the actual service they provide?
Why don't people switch to a different cable/broadband provider?
They are a government created monopoly

Same reason Sprint is still around.
>cheap

switch to another provider? you have a choice between Comcast/TW and your local company. both are shit and overcharge out the ass.

I mean, why is nobody taking up the spot as a market leader if everything else is shit?
Sounds like a perfect opportunity, since the infrastructure is there.

They are essentially a monopoly.
For some reason monopoly laws don't apply to them

We havent caught up yet and made the industry act like power , water and gas
Honestly doesn't seem that bad. I always believed the local meme that cox is better than comcast, but right now the place i'm renting a room in has comcast and its just as fast as cox, and has never randomly shut down in the six months or so i've lived here whereas with cox it happens at least monthly, and some friends with comcast have gotten a letter for piracy but we never have. no experience with the customer service though, i've heard its shitty.

I agree their customer service sucks but their service is solid. Specifically the Internet compared to others where it services. I left Comcast a couple times but always came back because It wasn't the same quality service.
