R8 my business Idea.

I'm poor, and I live in a country that I don't speak the language of. I've got about 50 eurso to my name left. I invest 20 euros into a snow shovel. Go door to door, with a note that says in the language 'I will shovel your snow for 5/10 euros', and I do the job; they pay me.

Will it work?

Regards. Very poor person.
>>
Come on
>>
>>967508
I'd say yes if there are other people doing something similar.
>>
>>967455
The reason I say that is because if the country is poor most people will just do it themselves.
>>
>>967520

No idea if other people do it, but I figure if their road isn't shoveled, then it's worth asking them. Not a particularly poor country either.

Anyway, I gotta make some cash to pay for food.
>>
>>967455
So you're a professional gypsy?
>>
>>967608

Nope, just strapped for cash. But how about not knowing the language? Will that be much of a problem?

What language don't you know? There's a lot of free courses on the internet. Learn it for a month and get a job at McDonalds.
Try using this to learn:
https://www.duolingo.com/
>>
>>968120

Finnish, hard as fuck and no duolingo.
>>
>>968136
For such a socialistic country, I'd be surprised if the government doesn't offer some sort of free, or very cheap course to learn finnish.
>>
>>968140

Yeah they do, and I'm doing it.

I gotta make pennies before that though because I'm gonna run out of money soon. I'm a poor poor poor man.
>>

>>
prostitution knows no language barriers
>>
>>968099
I had an inkling... At least you want to work brodiddly.
>>
>>969134

Yep. But no Finnish, I'm a bit nervous about going door to door, but I figure it's worth a try, I just hope I could get some work.
>>
>>969135
Get some business cards printed up in finish that introduce you and state your purpose.

The following in Finnish:
>Good day Sir/Madame,
>I, Mohammed El Bombblast, am delighted to offer my services clearing your walkways, driveways, and street front of this high snow. Please allow me to earn my keep in your beautiful land by employing my services today.
>>
>>969139

I've not got the money for business cards, I've got the money to buy a snow shovel and some food and that's it. I know enough finnish and I can see from body language if somebody wants their snow shovelled, so I'm relying that that is enough. If I start making cash like fiddy then maybe I would, right now I just wanna know that at least one person will want their drive shovelled if I spend all day going door to door.
>>
>>969140
Print the message up on little squares of paper then. Play on white guilt. Europeans will throw their own children into a volcano to appease the god of tolerance. Why don't you just come too America. We love actual workers. Just don't vote Democrat, or I'll find you and rub bacon in your eyes.
>>
>>969142

Yeah, that sounds good. What should I charge? 5 euros per drive? 10 euros?
>>
>>969144
I'm in the states, but I'm in Boston where we get lots of snow. If the fins are like new Englanders, they'd pay about $20+ (on the low side) to have it cleared.

Also, can you pass for 16-17? If so, put 16-17 as your age on the printed sheet. Eurofags will gladly stretch their asses for any brown foreigner, but they probably give you more money and their daughter's virginity if you're a "teenager".

Good luck bro. Peace be unto you.
>>
>>969144
If they have a big driveway, 10. If not them 5.
>>
>>969146

Nah, I couldn't pass. I'm just gonna have to put myself out there. Thanks for all the support though, I'll report back if and when I get any work.
>>

Godspeed snowshovel kebab bro.

>kebab shoveling snow
i wouldn't trust you to do a good job based on you being from a country where there is no snow. Just get a laboring job.
>>
>>970380

Well how the hell am I supposed to do that??? Jobs aren't easy to come by. I'm applying to all I can and snow shovelling is the last resort. It aint easy when you don't speak Finnish.
>>
>>969140
>>967455
Dude, at this point you got no choice. You can probably return the f shovel to the store if you don't get any job. Make a note, Euro 10-15/pop and get out there. Obviously to somewhat nicer hoods where people dont like to do physical labor themselves.
>>
Actual Finn here. First of all, most of us like to do everything by ourselves. It's not that we couldn't afford paying for some shit like shovelling snow, but we like to be perceived as independent and hardworking even if we hate the job (even people worth millions of dollars often do it, though they usually use some nice machines). This depends a lot on where you live, if you live near some major southern city then you may find some work, but if you live in some small northern shit hole then you probably wont.

You have to consider the cultural aspect also. If you are 22+ years old and you are obviously from a third world country then prepare for people thinking that you are there to rob/rape/murder them. This is also worse in smaller and poorer places. I'd imagine that if you are near Helsinki/Tampere/Turku you will be fine. Learn some Finnish also, we tend to trust people who speak Finnish more than those who don't.

Don't bother people if there really isn't snow. If there is like < 5cm of snow, it doesn't need to be shovelled. Also, when you shovel the damn snow, try not to dig any dirt. You should target the wealthier neighbourhoods because there you are less likely to counter racism and the people are less able and willing to pay. I'd put the price somewhere between 10 - 30 euros, depending on where you live, how big the area is and how much snow there is.

Tl;Dr:
If you live near a major city you are probably going to find some work. If you live in northern/eastern Finland, you are fucked.

How western/white you look on a scale from 1 to 10 decides how much racist shit you are going to get. This can be improved by learning some Finnish.

Target wealthy neighbourhoods.

Also, if someone is happy with what you provide, don't forget to leave a phone number or some other contact information. If we learn to trust someone, we will probably stick with him/her.
>>
>>970466

Well my parents are Turkish, and I've lived in the UK most of my life, I look basically white, I'm pretty white by most standards, I guess I look like a very dark British person or maybe an Italian or Greek. I mean, if we started speaking to eachother in English they'd think I'm 100% tally ho englishchapman. I guess that looking western is helpful than if I looked like some hairy Arab.

And I noticed finns are pretty independent and a bit dis trustworthy of foreigners too. My Finnish is/can/will be enough for me to make a basic deal to shovel snow. in JKL btw, and sure I'll go for 5-10eur, i'm willing to bust my ass for little money as possible, as long as I can get work. Better a little money than no money. Also would it be worth going with a 'pay hat you feel it's worth' policy? My perception of finns is of being very honest and almost incapable of cheating you.

Anyway, I really appreciate your post, nice to hear from a Finn. And how do you think is the best way to approach finns when knocking at their door? I really hate to talk English with finns, but my finnish is so poor. So should I approach them like I originally said, with a letter? Or with some stuttering pidgin finnish? Super stuttering finnish, into switch to English???

Anyway it's nice that you think I could at least get a little bit of work at this, I don't need a lot of money. Also I come from a place that doesn't get much snow ( England, not Turkey :D ) and what's the general tips for shovelling snow? Do I put it onto banks on the street? Or just shift it from the drive?

Once again, thanks for the post, it gave me some heart, /biz/ is a pretty good board afterall.

I had a Thai mate who used to go door to door giving old people feet massages right at their doorstop for $10 a pop for 10 minutes. His only tools were a fold up stool and hand sanitizer.
>>
>>970841

Wow, wouldn't have thought there's a market for that. But that's good to hear.
>>
>>970866
He's a typical Thai, if you've ever known any they have this ability to sniff out money via niceness.
He told me the secret to his business isn't his massage skills, it's that old people are usually lonely as fuck and ignored by their families and just will pay you a dollar a minute to talk to you.
Him being brown and on his knees as they sit above him as he smiles and does his never ending flow of compliments as only Thais can do made him very non threatening. It won't work if you're a 7 ft bloke with facial scars
>>
>>970466
Hey man do you think setting up a website like this and marketting it to Finnish customers would work?

www.mongoliaancestrytours.com
25% discounts for Finnish brothers.
>>
>>970580

You basically being from the UK obviously helps. I am not saying that all the Finns are utter racists, but a significant (loud) minority is.

Finns won't probably cheat you because we value honesty quite high and it doesn't matter if you cheat your neighbor or some migrant trying to earn some money, it is always bad. You can go with 5 - 10 euros, but people are probably able to pay more, of course you can raise the price later. JKL is OK I guess, at least there should be a lot of snow around and the place isn't that small compared to other Finnish cities. I'd imagine that there would be some other seasonal jobs around in JKL, for example in ski centers (there should be at least two, might be three). You could also try distributing news papers, at least here where I live I see a lot of foreigners doing that. The pay is shit, especially if you don't have a car, but they are usually able to hire you even if you don't speak a single word of Finnish.

You can probably approach any Finn by just knocking at their door and politely presenting your service to them. Just don't go there too late in the evening, 4pm - 7pm should be ok. I think you can pitch your service in English (most should understand), but Finnish is obviously better. If you have a phone or something you could also print/sketch some ads and stick them to various bulletin boards that you find in grocery stores and similar places. You could also find some small jobs from there as well.

We usually shovel the snow to one or more big piles somewhere where it's not in the way like on the banks on the streets. You can ask them where they would like the snow to be put.

I think you aren't eligible to get any benefits from Kela (that socialist thing that supports our NEET population), but you can always try. Also, I believe you are an EU (UK) citizen? If so, education in all levels should be free for you at least.

>>970880

Absolutely no idea.
>>
>>971505

Yeah, I'm not eligible for KELA or as it stands for UK benefits, so I'm in a rut. I don't mind working and I'd rather be working that than sat around getting benefits all day. Now it's just more urgent. And thanks for the newspaper tips, I'm a bit old to be a paper delivery boy but a jobs a job and I'll definitely look into that. Ski centres; I can't ski and have no idea what I would do there but still it's a place I'll go and try.

Once again, thanks for the detailed posts. I'll look into newspapers and ski centres this week ( as well as the off chances of getting a proper job ) and then once there's some big snows falling in december I'll go try snow shovelling if nothing's come along by then. Thanks for taking the time my fennobro.
>>
>>968099
You will get appreciation even from racists that you are trying to find work oppose to turning to become a leech on society.

Good on you for trying to find work.

What's wrong with being a store clerk or something like that until you save up enough to go to trade school and become an electrician or something like that.
>>
>>969139
Racist/nationalist here

If a kebab came up to my door and did that I'd hire him even if I didn't want it cleared just because he is respecting my nation.

However, Scandinavia doesn't have that much nationalism sooooooo maybe it won't be so effective.
>>
>>971532
Same here. People who want to work and respect traditions/institutions, nowadays, are worth their weight in gold. ShovelKebabBro will probably be a millionaire with a happy conservative family in ten years; meanwhile, the blm/ows kids, with all their born western advantages, will be human garbage on welfare or lifelong professional student parasites.
>>
Matter of fact... Is there a vistaprint in Finland? If a finnbro will translate out the intro line in for the cards, I'll pay to have them printed up and shipped to shovelkebab.
>>
>>969140
Can I ask how you can tell from someone's body language that they need snow shovelled?
>>
>>971536
A true gentleman.

You should aim for €20 per driveway.

Business card should be:

SNOW CLEARING
€20 per driveway.
[phone number]

Knock on doors in the evening and introduce your service. If no answer, then pop a leaflet through the door.

You should be able to print 10,000 cheap flyers for €100
>>
>>971536

I appreciate the offer, but I don't think it will be necessary. Door to door is fine for me, and I'm not partial to giving out my personals on the internet, I'm sure you understand.

>>971539

You know what I mean, I couldn't discuss classics with them, but a bit of pidgin finnish, pointy pointy, hand actions etc, it'll be possible to get the jist of whether they want it done or not.
>>
buy random chinese shit and resell it through groups in facebook/twitter/whatever
>>
>>973136

Not got the money bro, but I did have that idea. I was thinking of buying a selection of cheap ass christmas baubels from alibaba and selling them individually as a pick'n'mix at some street market/ carboot sale/ wherever I could rent a cheap stall. But it involves a lot of interactions with various people and I don't really feel comfortable being a stallholder when I don't know the language, so right now busting my ass lifting snow sounds pretty good. Also it would likely involve a greater initial investment than the price of a snow shovel.

JKLbro reporting in. There aint enough snow, though in two weeks there may be. There are two industries always hiring here, call centers and paper delivery, and you don't speak Finnish, so paperboy it is.

It pays ok, and if you have a car, you're instantly hired. If not, hope there's a free slot close by. It's not for teens only either, there's an old kebab lady doing it in my hood.

Pic related is the main company.

Oh and for fucks sakes DO NOT go door to door with a note. That's what the beggar gypsies do, you'll look like one, and get beat up.
