I got into ETRADE when it bought out OptionsHouse, my old broker, so I'm still using the OptionsHouse rules, though I imagine they're pretty similar. Basically you can invest with any amount, though you need at least $1000 to get live quotes; otherwise you'll get quotes delayed by like 15 minutes. You need at least $2000 if you want to short sell. Commissions for me are $5 per transaction. For the tools, support, and reliability you get vs. what you get on RH, it's worth it, at least to me. Just know that those fees add up, so you'd need to make your trades count.

Can someone help me out with Stochastic RSI?

It seems really useful, but the results drastically change when I change the candle interval on the chart. For instance when looking at AMD with 1 day candles, the the stoch. RSI makes it look very oversold, but if I change the interval to one week, it says it's overbought.

What does this mean? Should I just sell within the week if I buy on a day-interval low RSI?

MSFT is very good and pays well, but a bit too expensive for my tastes. If I'd been smarter when it was in the 60's I would have bought.

Right now my main stocks are BMY and QCOM. BMY represents all my pharma stake, and I bought after it failed a clinical trial last year. I'm betting QCOM will win their lawsuit, but even if they don't they also pay solid dividend.

The other thing I've got is F. Some people will call me a dumbass for this, and it's quite possible they're right, because the stock has been getting slaughtered over the last few months. But their dividend is so fantastic that it's paid off the losses, and when the stock recovers some point in the future I expect a significant payoff. It might be good to buy in now though.

EPD is all around solid. Best midstream oil and gas stock there is, and it's managed by geniuses. The only drawback is that it's a master limited partnership, not an equity. That becomes a bitch in tax season, but if you're making money it's fine.
