I know at least a couple out there will sell a portion of shares, but with such a small amount of starting capital and the fees involved there really is no point. I wouldn't even consider touching a non-robinhood broker without at least a grand.

I don't know a lot of the legal / technical specifics of Venmo, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Don't they more or less operate as a bank? When somebody pays you, the balance isn't deposited directly into your account. It goes into your Venmo balance, which you can then transfer into a bank account.

Most users don't waste time transferring every payment when they receive it, and so they let a balance sit. I know I do it, I've always got $15-45 or so sitting in Venmo. All this money is theirs to profit on in the mean time.

Now that they are positioning themselves to be a merchant payment processor as well they can just charge a transaction fee for mobile payments on all commercial transactions just like a credit card processor.

What am I missing that makes this unprofitable?

BIDU has no breaks. Zoom out to the 5y and look at the higher lows (ascending triangle) we've been forming (and just broke topwise this week.) This is a good one to grab and hold. Just had some partnership with MSFT for some cloud stuff recently also. Nice to see others here who are looking for solid companies and not a quick memebuck.

Also, don't force yourself to trade. There will be days, or even weeks where the smart thing to do is to not trade at all because there are no good plays. If you get the idea into your head that you have to make a play every day, then you're going to start making bad calls and eventually start second guessing yourself all the time and end up missing the good plays.
