I've been wanting to get into investing for years, and now that I'm finally ready, I have no idea of how to go about it without losing my ass. Are there any infodumps or resources that can help someone like me gain a general understanding as to how markets work and how to read signals?
Also, I fucked up in college and studied the wrong major. Is there any hope for me to make a comfy living in banking, investments or anything related to finance? I have a degree in communication and one year of sales experience.
books are your best resource
read something on the kind of investing you want to do, or a personal finance book like rich dad poor dad

idk what Communications means in your country, but, is there any hope for you getting in to HR or anything like that?
If so, that's probs the route you want to go.
Also for your investing, since you know nothing and you admit it yourself, there is 0% chance you will make money.
Put it in a market wide fund or specific industry fund.e.g. Medical companies if you know a bit about medicine

I'm American, but my degree primarily focused on communication theory and media. HR might be a possibility if I can find a way to break into the field
This might be a dumb question, but where can I access market wide funds and single out specific industries? Just keep on eye on ETFs?

I learned and gained knowledge by reading books and not being a pussy about trading.
Dont be a pussy just dollar cost average into an index fund.
Ill give it to u step by step retard
1. Take your total investment divide by 9 and call this x
2. Every 2 months invest x into vti which is vanguard total stock index. If you don't have a broker optionshouse has 5 dollar trades
3. Just ride it out until you need the money 5+ years from now
Keep in mind im not a licensed financial advisor and this is a parody post depicting what I would do in your position
