- bull run/overvalued markets
- set my 401k contributions to 0% each paycheck
- waiting a few months that hopefully market will drop
- Will make up the difference later

Am I crazy? If so, what overvalued sources are you directing your contributions to?

you're not crazy but you're gambling. this bull run/overvalued markets could continue for at least 2-3 more years. are you willing to wait that long? alternatively you could be right and be making a profitable decision.

what's some math you've done to determine the risk/reward?
>>

No maths yet.

I'm working on a spreadsheet to calculate my regular monthly contribs and run scenarios to compare delaying my contributions vs continually contributing with various "dips"

You're betting on congress not passing tax reform legislation when congress is overwhelmingly republican.

Lmao

I know I'm gambling, but considering multiple rate hikes are expected in 2017, it's not unreasonable to expect most retirement funds are going to drop, even if only a little. It will be interesting to see if any tax legislation gets passed that will keep the increase going as strong as it has been...

From what I've researched, old Yellin and the Fed are going to be discussing at least three interest rate hikes in 2017. Plus growth right now is insane with the P/E ratio of the S&P 500 being at 26 which looks unsustainable.
