I'll start:
>What it is
Poker
>How long you've been doing it
About a year and a half
>How much money you've made/lost
About 5k
>how much money you can make/lose an hour
If I'm in a good game I can make 20-30 an hour.
>pros
-Can be fun
-Capital requirements aren't too high. A couple hundred dollars is enough to get started and ~2k is plenty to play live 1/2 where you can make 10+ dollars an hour if it's a decent game.
-Very easy to get the basics. Learnings curve is not steep - you just gradually get better
-Makes you better at decision making, probability and game theory
>cons
-Takes a while to get to the stage where you're making a profit. You will probably lose a few hundred getting started.
-Online poker is illegal in the US (There's always live though)
-Hours can be a bit anti social if you're playing live poker, generally the games are best late at night/early in the am.
Tutor math online
6 months
~$500 a month depending on my schedule
$25 an hour
Pretty easy, flexible, no risk of losing
Not that interesting, need a degree
I also do online poker, still just breaking even these days but I'm getting the hang of it now so hopefully in the next 6 months I'll be in profit on that.
And my mum thinks I'm a waster NEET

>What it is
I have a mortgage on 2 low income houses I rent out
>How long you've been doing it
about 3 years
>How much money you've made/lost
One house makes £75 a month profit after the mortgage payment and the other makes £150
>pros
If I keep them after the mortgage is paid off I can keep renting them and get a nice ammount monthly, or I can sell them and use the money for even more houses. Climb That property ladder
>cons
The worry that someone breaks a window or a similar fuck up will occur that I have to pay for

I have a low capital that I make 2% on for every trade I make which I usually make in 3 minutes (the risk being that if I take longer the odds for a bet I'm placing slips and I cannot hedge the bet on the other outcome)
I trade $100 trades, $1000 a week so at the moment only getting 20 quid a week. (But compounding that would generate sweet returns in future)
> pros
Super easy
Software that assists me so I hardly have to do anything
Legal
Scalable to trades of thousands of dollars
> cons
Have to place them quickly before opportunity has gone
Need start up capital or patience
