Does anybody here own their own business?

Yes. What do you want to know?
>>1760831
How much do you make annually?

Legalities, specifically. Where do I start? Is an LLC. the best option? What do you do?
I'd like to start a third party medical marijuana courier service in Arizona. I'm not a dude weeder but I see an absence of them in my state and recreational marijuana is only a matter of time. The overhead should be nonexistent and it could be my shot out of wage slavery. Should I consult a lawyer about this?

Can anybody help me?

Last year it ended up being 130k gross, some months are better than others and thats something you have to take into consideration, nothing is guaranteed in business.

Well, when I first started (circa 2009), legalities wasn't really something I considered, which sounds stupid, but I was more focused in making sure I was building a business that wasn't going to make me a loss, I couldn't care less for the lawfull implications of business, becasue in my opinion, they just hold you back.
I started as a sole trader, although starting out as an LLC is sometimes much better, depends on the business.
I have a food business, but its not a restaurant, its more of a nutritional company, I work closely with pharma companies to help patients with their nutrition, I actually one time tried to approach Martin Shkreli about the same thing but he didn't even reply to me, its whatever.
Medical marijuana seems like something to get into, although I can't see it being socially accepted by older generations, until they all die out, thats just a guess though, and its not even an educated guess so dont take my word for it.
Yes. Always consult lawyers, especially if you're like me and don't give a shit about the law, also, protip: hire an accountant when you start making profits of $60k+, it helps.

LLC is a good start. That's what I use for mine, have 2. I start a DBA if they need a new name for something to test out. LLC is good though.
A lawyer will file articles of incorporation with your secretary of state and act as the registered agent. They will also tell you if there's any AZ specific laws about LLC in general.
As for the weed angle 2 options. Consult a CA or CO lawyer about your plan to see if there's any federal issues to deal with, they should know, especially if you are just copy pasting a business model from 1 state to another. You would be wise to find a pot friendly AZ lawyer right now to go ahead and lay the groundwork for when it's AZ legal he can assist with any AZ specific regulations.
I would also try and learn as much about the business model from a company doing it in a legal state, and reverse engineer their marketing, advertising, customer accquisition, etc. Go ahead and network in AZ so when it's ready your customers know who you are and can hit the ground running vs. where you are now.
