hey biz bought to get 6000 bucks from a school refund check for books and stuff, what should I do with that money? I might look into getting an apartment/ cheap property to move out, but feel like there's some easy ways to make it grow quickly that I'm missing out on.
bump homies don't make me spend it on hookers and blow
If you're talking about the Pell Grant, save it for a down payment on a house. Preferably in an IRA (up to 10K can be taken a distribution without the 10% penalty for a first-time home purchase)
I did that, and it feels good to own property.

Well, put 5.5k in an IRA, because you can't contribute more than that. Use the rest for books and shit.

Nope. Unless you have a business plan, investing will only get you ~10% annually. More only if youre lucky

might have a business plan but its a loan, perhaps i should just not take any of it out, its like 7% interest but i can defer it etc
put all of it into apple stock.

>loan
I thought we were talking leftover grant money. Don't take any of that shit; student loans is the most garbage debt you can get.

while it does seem like garbage its so appealing because i have no money and a job search for something within my major might take a few months, could use it to move out or start a business, pretty sure if i kept taking coursework indefinitely i'd never have to pay it off..? tempting but i don't know you're probably right might look into finding scholarships to get extra bonus funds like that
bump for any other ideas
You could start a small business. $6k to learn how the business world works is invaluable experience.

What are you 7? 10% on investment will not happen, he will be good at 5% if he has 0 idea of what he is doing and so little capital to learn

just fucking do commerce, how hard is it for you fuckers to understand the principle of buy low sell high? Go out of the city, buy logs for cheap, sell them to hipsters making furniture for a premium.
>Buy excess wood from a big furniture factory for 170/m3 12m3 total
>Sell it to a smaller furniture factory for 190/m3 the same day
>instead of getting paid i take biofuel as payment, each ton being 110 i get 20.7 tons, >sell that shit for 150 within a week
>get 3,100 from my initial 2,040
