3rd year electrical apprentice here. I mainly work out of a workshop, building switchboards for mines. Ill occasionally go out to a mine site to do some work.
I enjoy it and because I work in the mining industry, it pays quite well.

It is a little hard, i dont want to be doing it at 50...but it is possible to keep doing. I earn 130k per year for shift work that is above average though and i am a supervisor. Yeah its worth it but dont look at as a life long job....but as a stepping stone, hence the study.

Im hopefully going to study engineering next year at trade school. Straight out of the apprenticeship ill be on ~100K

It really depends what area you work in. Domestic electrical work (houses) is boring, hard on your body and pays like shit unless you start your own business.
