I've started selling all my books on Ebay and after the cost of shipping (which completely rips you off) I'm only pocketing 30% of what the item is selling for.
This is ridiculous

ebay will fuck you up on fees. are you shipping with media mail? shipping should only be about $3 for most heavy books, maybe like $4 or $5 if you got a large textbook

>$3 - $5

well i dont know about australia then, but in america the post office has special rates for books which are dirt cheap. its called media mail and it starts at $2.61 minimum and goes up a little depending on weight but most 5-8 pound books will be less than $6 shipping. its a bit slower, takes like 2-8 days to get across country. they reserve the right to open and check your shit too and will fine you if you cheat the system by mailing non-book items

That is Aussie dollars. IE starting at 5.60. Also, that Express rate is quite cheap. Finally you are a huge and sparsely populated country. Why should it be cheaper?
