A lot of major car manufacturers are getting into the electric car biz (Toyota, Nissan, GM) so it wouldn't surprise me if Tesla can't hang. Also the GM Bolt will cost about as much as the new Tesla and GM already has a deal going on with Lyft in using the Bolt.

Needless to say, short Tesla. Feel free to screen cap this and thank me when Tesla model 3 production doesn't deliver on schedule.

This. The Model 3 is going to be a disaster. If/when Tesla is actually able to mass manufacture these things with acceptable quality control, there will be a number of similarly priced alternatives on the market from more reliable car makers.

Tesla has open source patents. Anything innovative they make would be replicated by a real automobile manufacturer with actual mass production capabilities. The fact that they haven't really shows that they know something we don't know and that's why they aren't doing it.
