Does anyone know someone who works for quicken loans as a mortgage banker?
There seems to be some sort of "plague" that affects anyone who either works there or has worked there. A friend of mine works there and kinda answers a question with a question when I ask him what the base pay is. I understand there is commission involved, but I told him I'm worried about the base pay because I have bills to pay and I would prefer him to be more realistic about telling me what the the pay is during training so that I won't starve or have my car repossessed.
I also told him to let me ask him some more questions about it before passing my information to the recruiter. He passed my information over so quick I didn't even get a chance to breathe. He also told me that he wouldn't receive any kind of perk for deceiving me and that I shouldn't worry and just focus on experiencing this opportunity.
Honestly, I think there's something that he's hiding, or his personal experience is overshadowing the realistic nature of the job culture and I have a bad feeling about it. Where I'm working now doesn't pay much, and the benefits suck, but I at least get weekends off and there is a realistic work/life balance.
When I asked him what is his schedule like, for example, he just told me there is a balance. I mean, why not just answer my question? What benefit do you get from not giving me a straight answer? If I were him, I would have just said, I usually work from this time to this time and they work the crap out of me. Honesty is better IMO.
Now, I'm really hesitant in calling the recruiter back because I don't want to commit to something that makes me feel uncomfortable.
bump. I hope this is question is appropriate for this thread!
I knew somebody that worked there a few years ago. he made like 75 - 90k. He's also very good. Said the schedule is fucking brutal. Be prepared to suck your bosses dick.

I feel so bad for you. Your 'friend' is a spurglord. You came to an anonymous message board because your 'friend' can't answer normal questions and you can't even maintain focus on your questions until adequate answers are given.

Your advice sucks.
