Is anyone willing to explain how a pump and dump works in relation to cryptocurrencies?
With all the various shitcoins being shilled here, it would be helpful to know what the endgame of their developers is.

>dont have money
>"lets make money!"
>convince other people its real money
>sell them your fake money for actual real money
It's not that hard.

Basically, you buy a lot of a shit coin, you drum up hype for the coin and get a ton of newfags to invest, then when hype is at it's max you pull out for profit, this causes a panic and the other people pull out asap, the coin's value drops like a rock, the people that pull out last lose the most money.

This. The fun part is when people who bought your fake money start convincing other people its real money. Then you don't have to do anything just watch shills shilling shills. They will fight to the end as long as they feel they are the ones doing the shilling and not like they are the ones being shilled. Cryptotards are kinda dumb in this respect.
You pump it then you dump it are you literally a retard

Aren't you just describing currency in general?
If everyone believes it's real then it simply is.

Except this form of currency solely exists to be traded. Bitcoin was a different beast in and of itself but all of the current Alt-coins serve no purpose other than to allow strangers to exchange real currency via (seemingly) safe transactions online. It'll be regulated under some gambling laws or some shit soon enough. It only seems so neat because millennials don't remember baseball cards, stamps, or any of the other shit we used to collect that held value and was treated as an alternative to paper-currency at times.

Not exactly.
You create hype around your crypto that solves a fintech 'problem' that doesn't exist and then sell HIGH.
Buy trump, the ONLY CAUSECOIN. If it did turn out to be an illegal p and d then we know the owner of trumpcoin llc and we can contact the relevant authorities.

You people are even more annoying than the initial Trump shills who invaded /pol/ a year ago
