Whats up /biz/? I'm really serious about learning the market and how to invest. Now before any of you say anything, no I did not watch Wolf of Wall Street and suddenly gave a shit about investing. Its something I've always wanted to learn but never really put the effort into making the time out for it, nlw I have all the time in the world. Any book recommendations on learning about the stock market? I'm also looking to hear about personal experiences, what to look out for, pro and cons all that good stuff. Thank you all for your time and help buds

>how to invest
It's really not complicated.
You just spread your money around to different funds so that you're well diversified.
Then you add money every year and watch it grow.
Pretty boring, but simple.

Care to explain what these two things are? Couldn't find anything on them. Sorry please bare with me I'm pretty new to /biz/
I heard the knee pad and lip balm industry is booming right now. If I had 100k I'd split my portfolio between these two holy items.

If you're serious about it, google 'fundamental analysis,' this will teach you how to analyse a company's finances, and from there you can decide if they're worth as much as they claim/as much as investors think they're worth.
There's an infinite number of investing strategies.
I'd honestly suggest getting into Martin Shkreli videos because he's one guy that teaches freely and interacts with his audience
To most people, including I'm sure everyone here, the market is like a way to gamble. From what I gather, real investing is about risk management. Calculating stocks by valuation, volatility, etc and putting them into a well structured portfolio.
Anyway, there's tons of hedge fund manager talks on youtube, there's the book More Money Than God which has a packed index for further reference and there's finance textbooks

Shkreli is a sociopath m8
Also most of the information he provides in his videos is fucking useless
>>1400904
He's autistic but not a sociopath
He shows case studies and analyses their financials. How is that useless?
find somewhere you can trade with a 'paper account' and practice with pretend money
I know its not the same as having real money on the line but its still good to start with
Thank you all for your replies!
