What are your thoughts on the new domain extensions?

Obviously, .com is still king and the values are still relatively high.

I realize the new extensions were brought in to help curb some of the values, allow people to brand themselves easier, etc.

Are the new extensions worth anything at all? Is your site a joke if you don't have the .com?

I'm not asking about sites like "www.johnslocalneighborhoodplumbing.com or whatever. They could benefit from the new extensions. I'm talking if you're trying to start a new global business.

Any thoughts on this?

Tech startups can use .io or some other shit extension. Otherwise, it's .com or bust.

Of course I'm biased as I own over 800 .com's.

Congratulations, I assume you're in it for the profits, not just a domain fetish?

I only own 9 at the moment, 2 are for my personal company that I'm going to incorporate soon, and the other 7 are sites I think will become popular or useful, so for profit.
