Where does she rank in the list of history's worst CEOs?
>>
She shoulda been fired years ago but muh sexism
>>
>>1002222

eisner-tier
>>
>>1002222
it was obvious from the day she got hired from the job if you read her cv back then. i have no idea what they are aiming for in the future, right now it seems like a desperate damage control move
>>
>>1002222
She is a woman.
>>
Why are women CEOs so terrible? Pao, this woman, Skeletor Fiorina.
>>
A lot of people have speculated that she is still working for Google, because they want to buy Yahoo at some point, or just run it into the ground.

They say this because she has done such a horrible job at Yahoo, that it almost appears intentional.
>>
>>1002222
Why exactly is she bad?
What has she done wrong?
>>
As bad as trump winning the presidency
>>
Possibly above Meg Whitman. Best I can do.
>>
>>1002283

Probably because they are women.
>>
>>1002347

Well, for starters, she took a job that no one else wanted because it was nothing more than a share holder scape goat job.

Yahoo was fucked the same time that AOL died. Yahoo is a worthless company that is nothing more than an SJW click bait site that holds Alibaba stock

The way she behaves shows that she's an absolute cunt that thinks of herself as better than everyone else

Here are some gems that were just released about what she has done at Yahoo

>She is responsible for turning down offers to purchase Netflix, Spotify, and Snapchat

>"She paid about $3 billion for acquisitions of companies you’ve mostly never heard of, like Aviate, Polyvore and Distill (and one company you may have heard of, Tumblr)," the Times summarized.

>"About $365 million of compensation went to Ms. Mayer herself, assuming she stays for an additional year and a half. And $109 million to an executive she hired to be her chief operating officer, who was then summarily fired 15 months later. An estimated $450 million on free food for the staff. And, depending on whom you believe, double-digit millions of dollars on parties and events, including a 'Great Gatsby'-themed holiday party several weeks ago that was held with no apparent irony."

>Mayer spent a substantial part of the party "behind a series of velvet ropes" on a pure white arm chair.

>"Attendees could sit next to her on an adjacent couch and pose for a photo," it reported. "The rest of the cavernous room was filled with even more chandeliers and urns and a vintage Rolls Royce. Swinging flapper aerialists pouring champagne towers and Gatsby-esque costumed actors walking around like vintage cigarette girls."

>Yahoo has spent $450 million in free food perks for it's 12,000 employees since her tenure
>>
>>1002378
>Yahoo has spent $450 million in free food perks for it's 12,000 employees since her tenure
Sounds like embezzlement. Unless they're eating new houses. Yum.

Or if they're feeding them EVERY meal. That's like $73 a week on every employee over 10 YEARS.
>>
>>1002383

They have ~12k employees and Yahoo provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner catering to all of them every work day.
>>
>>1002387
Oh, that makes sense then, I guess.

All that other shit sounds like horrible judgment.
>>
>>1002378
>Missed Netflix, Spotify, and Snapchat

And she's still employed?

Next you're gonna tell me Zucker's Grape Preserve offered to sell Facebook and she turned it down, too.
>>
>>1002389
$100 million a year to give 12,000 employees catered organic food twice daily? Lets be honest, there's no need for a buzzfeed-tier company to have so many employees. That's a huge waste of money at $8,000 per employee annually. I'd much rather be paid 8k more. That's how you pull top talent, with money.
>>
>>1002391

That's not exclusive to her.

Yahoo fucking loves buying worthless shit for massive amounts of money.

They paid billions for geocites.

Mark Cuban got 2/3 of his wealth by selling a retarded thing called broadcast.com to Yahoo for 1.7 billion

Like I said above, I think Google is actively sabotaging this company by having Google employees work on the Yahoo board of directors.
>>
>>1002283

Eh, Meg Whitman did alright for herself.
>>
>>1002426

She ran what is considered one of the worst gubernatorial ever in history

She spent 144 million of her own money and actually ran attack ads against herself without realizing it
>>
Mayer has had no choice. Yahoo was practically making money off alibaba even before she started. If they sell alibaba, they're done, no matter how competent whom the ceo might be at that time.

I'd still fuck Mayer though.
>>
>>1002387
I work at Google, which provides three meals a day to twice as many employees for less. It costs maybe $8 per employee per day. $450 million is ludicrous.

>Ginni Rommetty

Only ones I can think of that are good.
>>
>>1002222

As long as she's making money, I'm not sure she cares.
>>
Yahoo is such a heap of shit with no direction
>>
>>1002222
what will i do if they shut down yahoo finance?
>>
Meh, not even a competent male CEO could keep yahoo from swirling the toilet. They're a dead relic where every feature they have has been replaced by a superior competing product.

That said, I like how she accelerated the drop by killing employee morale and building herself a fancy in-office nursery for her upcoming crotch fruit on the company's dime. That was like poetry.

Were all so big. Just where did they fuck their shit up ?

That fall, Yahoo employees were really upset about a employee-review system Mayer had instituted at the company the prior spring.

A meeting where Mayer could answer those questions was scheduled for Nov. 7.

Everyone in the company was waiting for Mayer to say something to remind them that she was the CEO who was finally going to restore Yahoo to its rightful place in the Internet industry.

Mayer took a breath. She said hello to everyone. She reminded them of the meeting’s confidentiality. She said she looked through their questions and she had something she wanted to read. It had been a book in her hands, after all. A children’s book.

She began to read.

"Bobbie had a nickel all his very own. Should he buy some candy or an ice cream cone?"

Mayer held the book up, to show the employees the illustrations.

"Should he buy a bubble pipe? Or a boat of wood?"

Another illustration.

"Maybe, though, a little truck would be the best of all!"

Employees in URLs exchanged looks. At their desks, employees in remote offices grew confused.

What was Mayer doing?

She kept reading.

"Bobbie sat and wondered, Bobbie sat and thought. What would be the NICEST thing a nickel ever bought?"

Mayer seemed to skip a few pages. She read, with a slight agitation in her voice:

"He might buy a bean bag or a top to spin. He might buy a pin-wheel to give to little Brother. Or should he buy, thought Bobbie, a little pencil box?"

Mayer seemed to be reading with real frustration now, as though all of the anger and confusion in the room would just go away if everyone would just understand the story she was reading out loud.

“Bobbie thought—and suddenly a bright idea came,” Mayer read, reaching the book’s last pages.

"He spent his nickel just like this - - - -"

Mayer held the book up to show its last illustration. It was a drawing of a little red-haired boy riding a merry-go-round pony.

Hardly anyone could see the page.

No one understood what Mayer was trying to say.

>yahoo mail

>yahoo news
replaced by <insert literally any news aggregate site here>

It's a company with a lengthy history of overextending themselves while letting their core competency dwindle. Their purchase of tumblr was even more hilarious. Over 1 billion spent and what have they done with it? Strip out the porn indexing? Good move, I guess...
>>
>>1002886
How could someone so incompetent rise so far up in the world?

Fuck this gay earth.
>>
>>1002222
I'd eat the discharge out of her panties, but wouldn't pay her to run a company.

there are a lot of people who prefers yahoo's old style mail than gmail.
well, were, before she decides yahoo mail should be a gmail clone.

Anyone have the contact email for David Filo?
>>
>>1002432
I thought we were talking about female CEO's at their companies, not other shit. Why do I even bother
>>
>>1003163
She's a hot blonde who probably went to a good university and had connections.
>>
>>1003289
Don't care. I would legit email Filo saynig I could do her job better and for less.

I can't find a contact email, though, for obvious reasons.

You guys should read this article:

In some quarters, the problem was bigger than resentment of Mayer’s growing fame. Among those who worked closely with her there is an undercurrent of skepticism about her skills as a leader. “While she did a lot of good and useful things, she alienated people, because she jumped to conclusions about products and she was not always right, but she always thought she was right,” says a Google executive. A product manager who worked for her feels that she eventually became a hindrance, more of a micro-manager than a help. “All she did was move pixels around,” he says. “There was huge dissatisfaction that built. She became more and more authoritarian, and she would just say no if she wasn’t in a good mood or she didn’t like the color.” He adds, “I absolutely hated working for her, and you could not find a single peer of mine at Google who would work with her again.”

When I say that surely this is an overstatement, he says, “Name me one code-writing Google engineer who [worked with her and] has followed her to Yahoo.”

The person she did bring over from Google turned out to be a spectacular failure who ended up getting fired after getting paid 60 million USD over 15 months.

Women care about 'muh customers feelings' or "muh enviormentally friendly future' and other bullshit like that instead of worrying about profit, like they were hired to do.
>>
>>1002852

They're Indians though. Those women are actually the smartest of the smart, since they have to compete from conception.
>>
>>1003299

She's not intelligent at all.

She just got good grades in school and had amazing connections.

She has straight out fucked up every job she has ever held.
>>
Yahoo is a shitty brand and delivers shitty products. How on earth is she supposed to save it? If she wants to save it she'd have to get rid of or rebrand it's core products, like the email and news branch. The products that do work are the products that aren't branded Yahoo, like Tumblr and Flickr.

Luckily Yahoo has plenty of cash from it's old userbase so they can invest in businesses that do make money. It makes sense what she does, but she's still buying shitty companies instead of ones with a proper future prospect.
