As a student I pay 383,32€ for my Semesterticket, which includes a bunch of discounts as well as free transportation in my city and ~200km around it. I can travel to my mum, grandparents and everyone else every week without paying a penny.

Toilets, showers as well as the kitchen are on the floor => ergo room doesn't count as an apartment => whole floor counts as one apartment. I can go to payday loan shop and take out a 500 dollar loan to go and hang out with my friends. It's "bad" that I am risking going into 600% debt just to go out drinking, but the additional "good" it will do for my emotional state may outweigh that.

Or, consider that Greek austerity issue that has come up many times in the last 10 years. If Greece pays back their debts, government spending will go down, causing real pains to the economy (lost jobs, resentment, lost social programs). At the same time, their economy is in shambles due to their debt, so they have to do it some time.

See how these issues are almost impossible to peg down to "good" or "bad"? Stop living in black and white world and meet us in the real world.

Also, they dropped 12-15% over 2008-2013. Two years of 7% have yet to get them back to their old level. It's not difficult to grow fast when you drop 15%, undercut everyone with corporate tax, and then get bailed out by the big boys.

Look at austerity in France, Portugal, or Spain. They are still 6-7% below their 2008 peaks. Italy had austerity since 2011 and they've actually not grown in absolute terms since 2000.

Euro is going to crack. The european economy looks fucking blasted all over. No recovery really, dont think it will happen. Taxes will increase and the deflation will take over what is left. Euro as a currency was doomed since beginning as they didn't consolidate the debt.

What you are witnessing now in eur/usd is just year end closings. 2016 euro will keep losing its value but 2017 the real decline will start to take off.
