I'm working a dead end job which obligates me to stay from 830 to 5, despite having about 2 hours worth of work maybe a day.
I apply for jobs when I get home but in the mean time what are good ways to make use of time at work? I'm at a loss and feel like I'm stagnating in this position.
Usually I listen to audiobooks but its starting to get repetitive. I can really only use my phone since I don't want to have anything obnoxiously displayed on my monitor.
Seriously how does anyone do this. I'm not cut out for pretending to do work 45 hours a week every week for the rest of my life.

Are you me? Jesus christ I'm monitoring thread now. Good idea op.
Buy a book about something you want to learn and take it to work. Read it when no one is watching. You can also watch videos on your phone.

Can't do much if you can't use your computer... otherwise I'd suggest online study or another job which you can do online

Is it possible to learn programming while you work? Or something similar, which might seem that you are working but you're not, you just have shit open on your monitor which looks important.
I write furry erotica for $4 a paragraph
I make an extra $300 a week but I'm totally dead inside.

>bonus money but dead inside
This is the most American thing I've ever read. The furry porn just makes it more accurate.

I've done this off and on for a year now. I'm now looking at developer positions, and am decently qualified. The salaries are much higher...even if I end up doing rote programming, I'll keep learning shit, I don't give a fuck.

How do you get into this? I'd love to have an extra $300 a week. Hell I'd write about any topic for a few extra hundred a week.
Join the club. I am salaried so work or no work I warm my office chair. I offered to go home once and my boss basically said I am getting paid anyway. Just go play a game on the computer or something.
For today, I have done a grand total of 3 hours work. Yesterday? I did about 20 minutes of actual work. The one cool thing though is I can leave for semi extended periods of time, so I can go shopping for myself, do my laundry at the laundromat.
It gets boring for sure. But thats why I have youtube, 4chan, and personal stuff to do :P
Depends on what your goals are.
If you want to get richbux, learn something to put you in that position (if you want to make a tech startup, learn how to program. if you want to play the market, learn that, etc).
If you want to be more fulfilled, learn about art, history, literature, whatever. Write some shit, learn to draw, get creative.
