For something like this:

https://www.nzx.com/markets/NZSX/securities/FPH?icharts=true

At face value it seems like a lucrative industry. Upon checking the balance sheet, income and cashflow statements, everything seems to be fine and in order. Whats the catch though?
Every time I seem to find something good, I get suspicious

If I have a method for betting on sports games, with around 55 - 60% accuracy, how can I monetize this? My picks are based on advanced statistical and machine learning algorithms.

Do I:
Sell my picks?
Get investors?
Try to work for a sportsbook?
Write a book about my ventures and tips (obviously make this shit up)?
Try to work for a hedgefund or as a quant?
???

Technically, in my country it is illegal to bet on sports. So it would hard to get sound investors. I don't have enough capital to pursue this venture full time, I would need at least 100 times my current working capital to make any real money. Another problem is that sports books may limit my action if I start betting big and keep winning. It feelsbadman to have a winning strategy and not be able to make bank on it. :(

LMFAO fuck off. If you could really do that you would be a millionaire by now.

>Law of big numbers

kek shilling sports betting
>>

How would I be a millionaire by now? I have been growing my account, albeit slowly, but I would rather grow it faster.

Also, I only bet on a small amount of games (maybe 2 - 6 a week), so it will take a while to compound returns.

For example, my account started this NFL season at $500 and is now sitting at $750 (betting $50 a game). I can post proof, but then again, no one would believe me anyway.

my mom was given a house in a city and still managed to fuck everything up. I get better at letting go every day but it also means getting away from my family which is tough

I feel you bro. My dad was a lawyer for 15 years and never made over 35k. How the fuck he managed to not acquire connections, promotions, or better employment over that time astounds me. He then got laid off and didn't look for work for 7 years when he finally took a minimum wage job.

I'm the most successful member of my family and I have nothing. It's a cushiony nothing, but I've busted by ass to finally hit $0 at exactly 26.

Just take showers daily, use some type of hair products, and nobody will care.

So biz I was reading through the website on a college I want to go to and it says that you can get you pharmd along with an MD, MPH, or PhD in pharmaceutical science, toxicology, or Medicinal Chemistry, in a shorter amount of time it would take to complete them back to back (plus you would be able to have a part time career as a pharmacist while working on your next degree) so what would be the best choice to pick to make the most money? Idk what jobs you can get from having mot of those degrees excpet MD and MPH

Most of those could work as a chemist. MD would probably be the most profitable. Pharmacy would probably be the best quality of life. Chemist would probably be least stress.

Investing into actual commodities is smart, but the EPA is the most malignant thing in the United States other than the Council on Foreign relations. If you somehow catch the ire of the government, you will be fucked.

That's pretty close to 0% unless you actually present competition to other local companies.
>>
If you could get enough land and then set up some stuff on there like small cabins then you could also sell hunting experiences. It could be year round technically as well since it's private property. You'd have to invest into getting more animals onto your land.

from a MIT article - economics types may be interested:

"there are some structural reasons. Japanese consumers still consume an unusually low fraction of their income, which means that companies must correspondingly be persuaded to maintain a high investment rate if the economy is not to have too little demand. The problem is aggravated because the troubles of the banking system have restricted the flow of credit. So to push demand high enough to get the economy back to more or less full use of its capacity would require a big stimulus. Still, why not provide that stimulus?"

http://web.mit.edu/krugman/www/nikkei.html
>>
>>961819
The standard answer goes like this: interest rates are already very low, so the Bank of Japan has done all it can. Meanwhile, the government has a severe fiscal problem, so it cannot increase spending or cut taxes. There is, in short, nothing to be done except pursue structural reforms and hope for an eventual turnaround. This answer sounds hard-headed and responsible. In fact, however, it is based on a completely false premise - the idea that the Bank of Japan has reached the limits of what it can do.

hey /biz/ been on 4chan since 2008 and have browsed many boards on and off and have seen the start and uphill climb of /biz/ since it opened a few years ago. Basically I'm 20 male living in the usa going to state college for International business. I had a hard time in high school and as a teenager and missed out on a lot of things and slacked off and didn't get the best grades in life and barely got by. I was severely depressed and my personal life was a wreck and mentally and emotionally I was at my wits end but I finally managed to get through and here I am 20 years old facing the world. I want to go into finance and business and be an investment banker and then work my way up to ether being a big bank ceo or owning my own International business or sales service or whatever. I'm pretty good at math and analytical stuff and have a basic understanding of economics and world financial markets. Please /biz/ Help me out here what do I do and what should I learn and go into if I want to get through school and get out in my 20s and go into business and banking and be a trader on wall street? I really want to change the world and go into big business and I know I can do it and im the person for it and I can make a difference. Thank you and lets get down to /biz/ness /biz/

What's this about? All I see is dummies whining about the gold box page?
>>
>>961732
The gold box page is the #1 page where the majority of people buy stuff from. it has deals that last just an hour or 22 some that last the full day. it has some that last a month and it has books and capons. all separated in category and easy to find. People window shop. the way its set up now is you cant to check it every hour hoping not to miss something on sail. or you will be forced to scan throw 4,000 items a day.
because everything is jammed together, no option to separate it. you can choose a category on the new list system but still its chaos and jammed together. people went to the page to look fore sales not to look fore a set item they are looking fore. bottom line the main income page fore amazon is fucked up. they are going to lose some big time money and its the holiday shopping month. tomorrow the stock will drop like crap.
>>
Oh, I remember seeing the gold box years ago but I don't shop for much so I hadn't even noticed it anymore.

Sounds kind of like the old time Sears catalog, was easier to browse through than having to search for a specific item online.

I assume you do not drive a car and power your home with solar.

Why should companies be required to guess at future government regulations and then pass on their predictions to shareholders?
>>
>>961641
I actually just read the article and I'm inclined to agree with you. I was assuming you were just against regulation. That's my fault for not actually reading.

It's complete bullshit to go after companies for not speculating and telling investors to sell. I hope the guy loses his job and just gets laughed out of office

Take the sales job, anon. Either you'll get a chance to go into a better field, or your manager will give you that raise to keep you.

If you end up hating the sales, update your resume and start applying to similar jobs; you'd be surprised how much it pays more. I was the "shining star" at my company for 40k, they updated me to 43k and gave me an "award" certificate with a $100 visa card. I smiled, took it, applied to a similar job, and got 70k.
