Hey Im from Australia, 27 male,
Ive recently started a bridging course to get me into uni (Business and Australian History were my subjects) and I got a Distinction for Business and a Credit for Aus History
Im currently having trouble finding a proper job/career ever since I lost my job in construction (only a trade assistant was too easy and good money and people doing apprenticeships were earning a lot less than me)
Im wondering would it be stupid for me at my age to continue on to a degree even though I'm 27? Are my grades bad ?
>>999455
Sorry the bridging course is completed
>>999455
Hey buddy it's not too late to start uni, i studied in queensland and the average age of my engineering course was about 26, there were heaps of people even in their mid 30s studying. I think you need to stop wasting time on excuses and go all in ~:)

thanks brah
So I'm a typical 23 yo failure. Dropped out of college have 3 months exp at fast food and a month in a grocery store.
My friend heard I need a job and said they're opening where he works and he can help me get a job there when I apply. He works at a call center and he said if we work the night shift it should be pretty relaxed and easy. Should I lie about how long I worked in the past? Should I add another job? Me and my friend were landscaping for a couple weeks before they replaced us with a professional crew should I just say that I worked that job and lie and say I did it all summer?

YES.
Lie completely on your resume.
It doesn't matter and they won't even check. There is literally no downsides in your case, you got nothing to lose whatsoever.

>needing to lie on a resume to get a job at a call center.
you'll never make it op

Well I wasted my time on college and I live in the middle of nowhere so I had to wait until I was like 19 to get a car and even start working
So I was on track for an accounting degree but I switched to business management. I go to a great Bschool but what can I do with this degree?
I don't want to end up as lower-middle management but I don't know where people go with this degree.
Also, if I took a year off to teach english abroad how much would that fuck my career

Bumpity
Business Management....? What are your degree options with that? Are there majors you can choose from like Finance?
Management is the degree. It's like, workplace psychology/group dynamics/team leadership.
I'll have a minor in business law as well with a decent accounting background but I just couldn't hack it.
For anyoneeee out there that knows, i have a question about Iron Condors in options trading.
So in my picture im using thinkorswim. Can someone tell me why when i move the 2 'sell' spreads closer to the 'buy' ones, the profit analysis turns into this magical condor where my max losses are only the cost of commissions, and my max profit is the full price of the credit for the condor??????
It seems wayyy to good to be true. Whats the catch here?
see all the blue under the 0, those are losses, that's why.
>>999328
yeah but like i said, according to thinkorswim and this chart the most I would lose on this trade is the cost of commissions, which is like 40 dollars. Yet if i actually let the options expire I would make 880 which is the exact cost to get in the trade. Its so weird
No catch.
Fairly Low Probability of Profit however.
POPs in the 60's usually
https://www.tastytrade.com/tt/shows/strategies-for-ira/episodes/iron-condors-managing-winners-11-02-2015
Also 4 legs in and out so fairly expensive. $28 per trade at typical rates. Can be cut to $22. with a phone call mentioning dough.com.
So you're at $720 max gain - $ 110 commissions w/ $160 risked
It gets a little better if you learn how to invert.
Is this a thing?

The fuck is ticket counting? Google didn't enlighten me.
Basic income for every citizen, with a fixed percentage increase from base for every child, free healthcare, flat tax, no minimum wage, all other welfare programs dropped.
Size and scope of federal government reduced, virtually all state programs aside from the FDA, EPA National Parks Service, etc kept alive.
What happens to our economy?
>>999197
Do you really expect that one person can run all the numbers and figure out what a complete change in our current system would do?
Do even a few of those things and expect the market to crash because of uncertainty.

Impossible in the US.
Minimum income for people to be just at the poverty line or so in most cities is ~$20k/yr.
Type in 20 000 x 320 000 000 in your calculator and look at the number that pops up. That's how much money we need to pay for it.
Don't listen to the trump shills and the 1%. Everyone would be able to live comfortably and have more time to engage in hobbies they enjoy and spend times with their families. The elite fear this!
Silver is at $13.79 is now the time to buy?
Sometimes I want to buy some silver, but then I think what a pain it would be to remonotize it.

Hold some, don't hold to a point where you could go on a mental breakdown though.
I suggest you set up accounts and when shit hits the fan you order right away, find sources and good track record predictors.
>>999155
Yes you should buy as much as you can physically carry.
So /biz/ my friend has been working a job that pays largely in tips for a while and has accumulated roughly $5k in unclaimed cash (roughly 10k in bank atm).
The cash is currently 'under his mattress.' He is in his early 20s....what should he do with the money to potentially get some use out of it?
inb4 drugs
>>999094
Why the fuck hasn't he just been slowly putting into a bank account as he gets it? You have to deposit like $10K a year to have issues. Or just pay your fucking taxes like a god dammed adult. Hippie.
>>999094
I think your "friend" is actually you...
I have reported you to the IRS.
>>999099
you must be fun at parties
Is majoring in business the best way of placing myself in the lottery of being a future billionare?
No its a guaranteed ticket to be working a 9-5 job in a cubicle.
>>999086
No. What made you think this? Did you conduct any research at all?

Let me know how many of these guys have business degrees. Business is a kek degree that won't teach you anything you can't learn in a few weekends on Wikipedia or with some decent textbooks.

Business is just a general field that encompasses many things.
Most of them have Finance or Accounting degrees.
Ask a professional trader anything.

How much money did you start trading with and when? How much do you make per month?
Three questions:
1. What programs are you using in pictured?
2. How much did your setup cost (pictured)?
3. How did you get your job? (I plan on taking my series 7, but lack the social capital.
I started with $10,000. Didn't make much progress at first. I'd be up a few hundred one week, down a few hundred the next. Started making more intelligent trades as I learned the art of trading. Got picked up by a firm and learned from some very experienced traders. On an average year, I'll make around $100,000 before taxes.
I've had a year I lost money.
hey /biz, I'm trying to import some products from alibaba, but I don't know what to buy. I was thinking about Iphone cases and ink cartridges.
anyone of you experienced in this kind of buisness? share your wisdom with us.
>>998821
You'll be lucky to make 5c/unit on those things, they're commoditized.
You need to find something niche.
I have been running this kind of business for a few years now, I can answer some questions but will not say specifically what I import.
>>998835
To put it in perspective I won't import a product that sells with less than 60% margin (NOT markup) on the landed cost in my warehouse. ie if I make a $100 sale there is $60 gross profit.
I like B2B products, logistically it's a much simpler business. It does take a bit more talent in sales though.
>>998848
What platforms do you use for selling?
Which programming language should I learn if I want to have a finance related job?
Which programming language will get me a job the fastest? Any job that is.

We use Python to create trading algorithms on our team.
1. Stock prices of several American companies are dropping since the end of last week because stockholders are afraid of the upcoming setting of the interest rates.
2. They will continue to drop until the new rate will be published by the US Federal Reserve on Wednesday. Interest rate is expected to be raised by 0.5 percent.
3. If the rate is set to 0.5 percent or lower, the courses will stop to drop and rise instantly because all the short-selling has already happened by then. If the rate is unexpectedly higher than 0.5 percent, the courses will continue to drop for some days, but that's unlikely.
4. Do you think it's a good move to invest before the announcement of the interest rate or am I missing something here?
All of this has already been priced into the market since like October
Nice try though
>>998338
>everything has been priced in so market wont move
You are literally retarded
I think its a good move to buy because the market is expecting yellen to raise the rates (shes put it off long enough) So you wont see a big drop with the rate increase. But it could bounce back coz less uncertainty in the market after fed decision.
New company wants me to find a place and make a list of shit I need to open up my first office. This is totally new to me.

>>998059

What are some good skills to develop? I have a lot of free time on my hands at the moment and I'm thinking I should use it to develop a skill that'll benefit me financially in the future
