.And let's make some of that thing everyone keeps talking about: MONEY!
GET THE FUCK IN HERE!
>tired of living at home?
>tired of being a loser?
>think it's hopeless?
>think it's hopeless?
>think it's hopeless?
>think it's hopeless?
Well FUCKING think again! I say to hell with being an "employee" or working a job you hate! Kissing the bosses ass to get that "promotion?" FUCK THAT BULLSHIT! ALL OF IT!
Or, how about school? Ah yes, the cornerstone of any good career/life pathway that'll lead you to your trophy wife, nice house, dog, white picket fence, etc etc etc.. Do you really LIKE what you're studying? (rhetorical question). Spending a shitload of money (that you don't have) on learning something you might hate or God forbid not even be in demand for by the time you graduate... Then once you graduate.. Well, see above...
NO! TO HELL WITH IT I SAY!
Let's post in this thread, and in this thread only, ways to make money on your own terms. Hustles, affiliate shams, barely legal pyramid schemes, selling worthless shit to stupid people, etc etc..
Let's get some ideas in here! Let's get this ball rolling, ladies and gentlemen!

I say:
>Real Estate agent. Sell houses on your own time and by your own rules (within the confines of the law of course)
>Certified Tax Preparer. Arrange people's taxes for them from January through April 15th (protip: If you don't make any money with the real estate thing you can always file for unemployment until the next tax season.
>Property management. The plus side to this is that most places will want you to be a "live in manager" and your unit should come with an office adjacent to your apartment.. Any ideas here? Yeah, you can use that same office to prepare taxes and meet clients to discuss escrow if you're selling houses....Also, let's say (again) that if you fail at the real estate (sales) thing you'll have a free apartment while you're on unemployment waiting for the next tax season to start...Assuming you can't find some side work bookkeeping.
Whadaya think? That's my input right there.
Any ideas? Anyone?
I heard retail is a good place to start.
Everyone argues that Bitcoin will be extremely valuable once a majority of people catch onto it.
Just about everyone I've talked to knows about Bitcoin. So to me it seems like a good portion of people know about Bitcoin, how come basically nobody owns any of their own?
Utility is arguably the largest hurdle to adoption at the moment. So /biz/, what will be the turning point in adoption?
Will it be when Bitcoin being accepted at every online retailer or something more brick and mortar like Wal-Mart?

Blockchain technology will enable killer apps which will be so much better than traditional alternatives that people will have no choice but to use it
>>998681
Are you talking about simple contracts which don't require 3rd parties?
> Why haven't you gotten BTC?
1) It's been proven unsafe
2) I don't think it's gonna last for multiple reasons
If America is mainly a "consumer economy" how does our GDP double that of the cucks making our toys? Where is the money coming from?
>>1001643
We have value, at least in the eyes of the other nations.
We trade that value for their value.
Consumption = production. We just measure consumption because production is harder to measure.
We don't produce a whole lot of tangible "goods" but our services keep the money flowing. A service based economy is the healthy destiny of most post-industrial economies, but of course any real gains are from the productivity increase.
Bascically the system works so don't question it.
Also, those cucks are 4/7ths our size. Not one half.
>>1001649
Cuck is no longer kek?!
>>1001657
You are still a cuck.
What are your predictions on Trump's tax reform?
Do you think he'll be able to clear up 10 trillion dollars in the next decade in tax dollars solely by clearing out any loopholes?
What about his ~9 billion dollar wall and the US/China trade reform?
It's a lot to take on in 4 years. Do you think he could do it?
Even if he's elected, his tax plan will never be realized.
Neither Democrats or establishment GOP will allow it.
Look at Obama's tax reform plans from 2007 and how that turned out.
>>1001618
Well. It was more of a hypothetical "Trump is king emperor God of the United States situation"
I really hope he would be able to pull it off.
>>1001613

Oh man. You guys sure were right. Just look at this absolute devastation wrought by this announcement!
Can /biz/ even Robert Lucas?

>>1001621
Exactly, the sector that's going to be most affected by the rate hike is the junk bond market, and those have already been clobbered- HYG and JNK
I just bought 4000 Rolls-Royce shares.

Which side of the CASHFLOW QUADRANT are you on /biz/?
>>1001534
If I own some cash monies and savings balances, and don't have a job, does that make me an investor?
The leftmost one, as most people on /biz/ are.
>>1001534
That's clearly a quintrant OP.
Is it worth it to start mining bitcoins?
kwh is somewhat expensive in my country, but I could install some solar panels
Idk, is it worth the investment?

So, I can just grab a loan for a down payment on a house, and take out a mortgage? Then start charging rent to said property until it's paid off?
Will banks let me do this?
please respond
>>1001178
Sure. Illegal Cantonese immigrants do it all the time. Of course, they don't exactly go through bank credits.
>>1001201
Sounds like an interesting story.
Why do people monger over crashes and recessions so much when they are always temporary? Why sit out on hundreds of percent in gains just to short a measly 25-50% gain. Just avoid allocating a bunch of money into bubbles (diversify) and hold. There's literally no reason to worry about a crash unless you are retiring in <10 years.
Any psychologists or sociology fag have an input on why humans are so drawn to making little returns shorting a crash rather than buying and holding?
it takes a strong will to see all that money disappear so fast
>>1000756
But it's unrealized. You have to be retarded to think of it as real money.
>>1000671
a person gains 5 bucks, and it's not too much of a deal for them.
a person loses 5 bucks and all of a sudden that's their money being jacked right out of their pocket.
it's the same reason why people will fall deep in debt on the poker tables and keep riding the crash into the ground.
>15 dollars taken out of my paycheck everyday due to taxes
What the fuck how do I stop this?
>>1000670
kill yourself
Quit your job.
What are some non-shitty cubicle 9-5 jobs?
I'm making decent income from websites / amazon so I'm just looking for a 9-5 to increase my income but doesn't want to make me kill myself
And what should I major in? All business degrees to me are useless, comp sci is too hard.
Give me some good ideas and I can help you with any questions with online marketing
Bartending is the most common job business owners had before they became rich. When I was in Uni, we surveyed a bunch of business owners here in Chicago about what they did while they were starting their business. 54 of the 91 people we interviewed said they were a bartender/worked in a bar to make ends meet until their business took off.
You get good tips and you get to work in the evenings/nights, focusing all day on your business.
Second answer (mostly from Finance guys) was personal banker/financial adviser. Was salary based and worked 3-4 days a week with a full time income. These days you can get a job as a bank teller and easily get trained into a personal banker position just for being male. It's what I did through University. Made $30K/year working evenings and all day Saturday.
>>1000665
2nd the bank suggestion. I also get decent income but wanted something to do during the day
>>1000665
Just become a security guard and work your way up to being the guy who trains other security guards. They work 8-4 office hours daily in a heated office with internet, and they don't train people every week.
