The whole point of bitcoins was to be anonymous(ish) and to become more difficult to calculate as technology becomes faster.

so, as successful bitcoin would piss off the banks, what can they do... well they can say isis uses bitcoins, but that didn't really work as no one gives a fuck about that...

so, they can control the release of technology. by slowing down the rate at which computers and processors increase, devalues bitcoins faster thus getting rid of them faster.

capitalism is great at not bringing better technology to market to make more profit - just research the whole monopoly about crt monitors vs not bringing the cheaper flat monitors to market.

thus tl;dr; bitcoin is possibly hurting the technology market.

Who /Can't focus on tasks/ here?

I keep making extensive goals for myself and promising I'll work hard but the next day I'm just too tired and can't stay focused. I keep getting distracted for what needs to be done... How do you guys stay focused and keep your day as close to 100% productive as possible?

This and add excercise. These are the basics. When you have this in place you can build on that.

I am thinking that maybe what set out to do does not engage you emotionally. It sounds good when you plan it but when it comes to doing it your energy is gone. One reason for this could be that you deep down inside think that you will not achieve the goal so why even try. I mean if you don't start you will never have to deal with the failure of not reaching the goal.

If you are focusing on the wrong thing you have to keep on searching for something that will engage you emotionally. When you find it you will not have problems getting to work the day after the plan. Maybe you are setting goals for yourself to make a lot of money but maybe that is not your thing. Maybe your thing is to help others who are less fortunate than you. Maybe you belong in an NGO instead of the business world.

Another alternative could be that you are goal setter and not a goal reacher. You like to make plans for the sake of making plans, not to reach them. This basically means you are boss material and you should make plans and set goals that others will reach. You will just check if the goals are reached.

Who knows what it will do? Could be huge, could be just another idea.

Besides, what company would you even invest in anyway?

There are some, but nothing huge at the moment. I suppose waiting until some barriers to its implementation on a wider scale are overcome would be the right thing to do.

How do you get into web development?

I have all the skills to build some nice websites. But how would I get started in creating websites for companies.

For example, say there's some business which is doing a good trade, but their website is straight out of the year 2000 ( and they're sitting on page 2 of google for most relevant search criteria) . I know that if I redesigned their site to make it more modern it would improve their business dramatically.

What I was thinking was just emailing them out of the blue with a mocked up new front page, and say "Hi, noticed your website was a bit dated, I can totally redesign your site, for xxxx$ send me an email back and we can discuss it." But I know if I received an email like that it would seem a bit scammy to me, so how do I go about getting business like this?

you won't make a dime making customer facing websites. nobody cares about those, they don't bring in any money.

you need to learn HTML5 and JavaScript then Java, C#, or PHP, and respective web dev frameworks for that. then apply for as a contractor at an agency since most places don't hire full time web devs that often.
>>
>>998752

Well this website is really bad, aesthetically it looks really fucking old, it's in times new roman, flashing gifs, etc. It's a relic. It's messy, it has no coherence, it has no index, full of dead links, and on top of that the content is messy, all over the place, and very dated. The business is run by a bunch of 60yo guys and as far as I understand the guy that designed that website last century is now dead.

The business however from what I understand is very successful and they're good at what they do ( guided tours ). Now considering they're doing guided tours, where internet and a good webpage and high place on google search is where you need to be, by tidying up their page and doing a bit of SEO I'm certain that they could be taking some of the business with now is going to their competitors.

Add to that, that their e-commerce system is one of the most confusing things I've ever navigated. I can't imagine the amount of revenue they've lost because people saw the site and just immediately thought that either this business is dead, or that it's run by cowboys, and if they made it to the online shop, just got so confused they gave up. But come on, it's 2015, in an industry like that you've got to have a decent website and a working online shop.

With so many people trying to work bitcoins into their investment portfolios, there must be a bunch of people using faucets, right?

Why doesn't /biz/ have a pyramid set up to boost peoples' incomes by taking advantage of the fact that most faucets have a referral scheme?

Since a big part of /biz/'s decisions generate market movement anyways, it's not like having a small amount of bonus BC going to someone who's going to follow the same buy and sell curves anyways is going to hurt you. It'll do just the opposite, in fact, along with the fact that everyone would get to be part of the pyramid anyways.

Just hold it forever. You'll lose your money trying to time the market perfectly.
>>
>>1001496
Eh, its baby's first investment. Probably won't crash or anything, you have the weekend to hit a sell order on Sunday if for some strange reason the movie bombed. If not you can hold it and forget about it it could go up maybe 10% by March. The only thing I can really see driving the stock is if Star Wars hits 3 billion, if they somehow buy Star Trek off Paramount, and then Marvel Civil War hype.

Its a solid stock that you won't lose your shirt on guaranteed and don't need to stress on but if you bought it hoping it'd make you tens of thousands of profit I can't see it because usually these kind of known entities already are priced in by now.

What are some reasonably easy to attain skills that would allow me to earn money at home with a computer?

Anything other than programming or coding, as it doesn't interest me enough to invest my time in it.

I'm not looking to get rich, but a survivable income ($1000 per month), would be a start.
I want to have an alternatiive source of income seeing that I may be laid off in the next year or two.

Suck virtual dicks for 100 virtual game currency on the latest MMO, then turn around and sell it for $1. Just repeat this a thousand or so times.

There are no "reasonably easy" skills that can generate income. Otherwise unemployment would not be a problem.

> you have to be skilled to make money

ignore this bs. you have to do something. something. anything. google online income and take it from there. just be aware of all the scams and shills. you can't get rich in 24 hours / 1 week / 1 month, you can't buy a domain that makes you $2000 p/m on autopilot because someone else is selling it (why would they sell it if this is true), you can't get rich online quickly. it isn't 1990's anymore.

avoid porn industry, avoid blackhat stuff, and just read until you find something you like.

be prepared to spend some time and money.

Why would a potential employer ask for my current salary AFTER giving me a formal offer. What are they trying to pull?
Should I give it to them?

Pic related it's anime.

uh. if you want the job? yeah you give it to them.

it should be pretty obvious but you dont want to hear it, they want to gauge your salary based on your personal experience as opposed to industry median. doesnt mean what they offer will be set in stone, though, just means you need to negotiate and fight for it.

Hello Biz,

I am placing a micro market at a local manufacturer. I hope it's the first of several, and I think this location has promise, plus I already have leads on other potential locations.

For TL;DR if you don't know what a micro market is, it's basically a more modern vending solution and has higher profit margins plus increased sales.

So my question is, for the portion I'm financing, I can either get a loan @ 15% for $216 a month for 5 years, or a lease for 36 months at $367 a month.

I was really hoping the lease would come in lower for the tax benefits but I think at this point the loan is my best bet. Do you guys have any input? Am I missing any magical reason I should still go with the lease? I don't really see any equipment upgrades in the near future; if I did I can easily unload most of my equipment on the used market.

Oh man you are doing an Avanti like solution? Good luck with that, these kinds of business get completely eaten away with perishable goods and credit card fees. You are going to be lucky to break even if you have enough volume.
>>
>>1000515
Not Avanti, another provider though. I've got a growing location so I'm hoping it works out.

The thing I have going for me is that the location is almost completely isolated from other nearby foodservice. To go grab an energy drink, a coffee, or any sort of sandwhich takes their entire lunch period.

If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out; hence only one location initially. It's not like I have many better options where the money would perform better.
>>
>>1000599
Do you have a route servicer lined up? Have any current vending machines available? If this is an established business go with the loans. If you don't have any other vending machines then lease your equipment with a purchase option.

It also depends on if you have a whole lot of turns or if you get stuck holding. How many SKUs are you going to be stocking and what is the breakdown between cold, perish and dry goods?
