There are Levels to this shit.

The Natural State of mankind is Poverty.

99% of the wealth in the world was created in the last 100 years.

Resources were allocated in the manner of Kill them and Take their stuff.
If you survived pregnancy and your parents not bashing your head on a rock, you had a 50% chance of being killed by another human being.
Later Slavery was developed and there was a surplus of manpower, the Egyptians put it to good use and built some shit.

Proto-Capitalism was formed in the 16th century, when the spanish conquistadors brought 36 tons of gold and more silver from the new world and collapsed the European Economy with an inflation rate of 1.37%. This spurred the english to create goods to sell the spanish for their gold. This caused a few economists like Adam Smith and Jean Baptiste-Say to figure out that making things is far better off for the world than taking things, but nobody could read so no one cared. Before capitalism the worlds resources were cut up and controlled by might of arms or populace and other protections. Mercantilism was the first economic arms race. It was still pretty easy to kill the Spaniards and take their gold though. However in the New world capitalism was allowed to flourish.
Richard Arkwright, one of the first great capitalists of the industrial revolution, and NEET wigmaker, needed tons of cotton to make stockings on his new machines. See the Luddite Revolution. b/c of him out of the 50 Millionaires in America 20 were farmers. This was unheard of. Capitalism became Reality.
Marx bitched a bit because he couldn't stand the idea of profit. But we've figured out for a long time that the reason, that the blessing of new gold collapsed the economy, and a bunch of new stockings machines increased the workforce in the industry 100 fold.

Today we know that efficient use of Free Cashflow is the mechanism for growth in business and in life.

Personal Finance is the Bedrock from which you will grow

I want to get into a company like Intel or NVidia.

Any tips? My resume links to my website where a full resume is posted with all my bullshit on it.

I posted on /sci/ but as someone pointed out there, you guys more than likely have a better understanding of the hiring process.

I'll keep it simple - that resume isn't much use without seeing the job description you're applying for. It might get you an interview for a niche job at Intel for one posting, but it might go straight to the trash for another job posting.

The person (or computer) doing the initial screening is someone in HR who probably doesn't know a whole lot about the technical side, so think - what would they want to see, and can they understand your writing (or at least, the significance of it)?
>>
not enough sadly.

the only way to get a job at a huge meme company like that is to know someone or be exceptionally qualified.

you had two internships but apparently didn't do much. you shouldn't need to list the courses you took to fill up your resume. they're looking for a succinct summary of your practical, industry experience in a resume; courses/focus is something you mention at the interview.

you can still try to get in through networking. i got an offer with an even more underwhelming resume at Cisco.
>>
>>1026712
It's okay.
If you work for 5 years at a shit teir company or a startup you will probably make it past the initial recruitment filter

The same thing that went wrong with every single country south of the USA: invading a nation and replacing the population is hard as fuck.

The USA is one of the few successes in history and that's only because most of Europe chose it as their focus point for the "new world". Canada only had the USA as their neighbor so they didn't have much to worry about. Everyone else in the Americas are still facing issues to this very day in regards to controlling their population to keep crime down, they never truly stabilized.

Hi /biz/,
europoor here, with a few friends we're creating a way for Indians to sell some of the traditional items they create to european hipsters. We pretty much established everything we needed with the concerned Indians, and we're set when it comes to funds, but we need some advice regarding logistics.
Basically, is there anything regarding the law or juridiction that we need to know about in order to avoid getting into anything illegal ?
Also, do you have any general advice ?

I'd wait to achieve the low of .40 again, and then look on a longer term graph to determine if it's a bargain or not.

If the stock is old enough, the 2008 lows are a good guide.

Fellow Australian /biz/nessmen, I need your advice.

I saved AUD $20,000.00 over the last year. To avoid the temptation of spending it and to keep welfare in the dark, I subtracted money every time it hit my bank account and left only what I needed to pay for the essentials.

As a result of this, I have $20,000 in various notes stored away. Yes, I know I am losing interest on this, but without it, I would be paying more on tax, losing social security benefits and have it pried at by others.

I want to convert this $20,000 - which is mainly in $50 notes, with some $20 and $10 notes - into a neat $100 note collection. Why? Because it's easier to store and keep track of. 200 notes. Great.

I want to take this money to my bank branch and have them convert it. But I face a dilemma. I recently found that it is - bizarrely - illegal and suspicious to carry large amounts of physical money with you. It makes you look like a drug dealer or tax evader (the latter of which I may be guilty of).

So my questions here, are:

1. Can I take the full $20,000 in to the branch, notifying them in advance to stock 200 $100 notes? Do they actually offer this service?

2. Should I notify the bank of my intentions in advance?

3. Should I do this in small increments (i.e. $5,000 at one branch, $5,000 at another, to avoid suspicion?)

4. Do I a legal obligation to provide evidence of how I obtained the money? Will they ask?

Thank you in advance.

Hey /biz/,

Ive got $40k AUD just sat in a standard saver account and its time to put it to good use.

Im thinking a split between as "high" an interest saver account as i can find (currently AMP @2.6%) and opening a Vanguard account.

Does anyone recommended any of the current vanguard funds or ETFs?

In terms of risk/reward im open to anything 50/50. maybe even a bit more risk seeking.

Thanks in advance for any information/advice provided.

Honestly keep it in the saving account for now. We're heading towards a volatile time and your stocks could very well drop for the next year or two, better to get ~2.5% gains instead of aim for ~7% gains and end up losing money.
>>

>VOO
Why do people always leap to recommend large cap stocks? It's stupid advice and completely out of touch with modern market theory. Learn to type "VTI" instead ... its better advice and you won't sound retarded to adults.

Greetings biz. I currently have about 15k in my savings account that I will be spending next year. I was wondering if I could do anything with about 10k of the money that would safely net me some extra money by next March. My alternative is just letting it sit for a year...

Pic related, it's my cat.

Locate a reasonably priced vet in your area, get it fixed. Stick with wet food, feed it to the cat twice daily. Dry food isn't necessary. Buy a cat tree and some toys to preserve your furniture. Try to keep it inside if you can.

Young adult here,

Redpill me on housing vs renting? or housing as an investment in general

Why does every boomer keep saying its an investment because when you sell it later, it will be worth more?

Like just thinking about it. If I buy a house now for $500k, then in 30 years its supposedly worth $1mil and I sell it for that much. Doesnt it mean that Im not really making an extra $500k because if I sold my house for $1mil then that means the new house Im going to have to buy to live in will be around that price range too?

Why do boomers keep pushing this meme? Are they trying to make a quick buck off us before they retire or something or are they oblivious to their stupidity?

Shouldnt a house be treated more as a lifetime asset that you plan on living in for life and pass on to generations to make it worthwhile. Rather than something to Profit off.

Housing is a shit investment (see pic), but renting is actually throwing money away to someone who has invested in a shitty investment.
Aim to reduce the amount you spend on housing as much as possible because either way it's basically dead money unless you luck out and pick a spot that is currently shit but starts to rise after you've bought it.
>>
Buying is like forced savings
if you do your research you might get lucky and make a profit
After 30 years you stop paying it off

Rent is cheaper in the short run so if you use that extra $100 a week wisely you can make better returns.

As years pass your mortgage repayment will stay the same
And your rent will go up but you will make more money so the ratio you spend on rent will be about the same.

Also you have to think about the deposit and if you could invest that money to be more profitable.
>>
If you have to rent, just live in a van. Fuck losing 30%-50% of your income just to have a place to sleep.
