I've been reading some HR salaries and I'm really confused. I'm seeing 60k-100k/year for HR? Is that really what HR people make?
If so, what exactly is their job function aside from replying okay to e-mails of applicants that go through an automatic screening process, or agreeing/disagreeing with a manager to fire someone, and having a computer keep track of payroll for them (which I thought most companies outsourced payroll?). When someone needs to get a hold of them for an actual problem that requires some sort of skill and time, they conveniently go on vacation or wait a month to get back to you. I'm absolutely baffled about human resources.
They typically deal with employment benefits too.

Well I work as a labour consultant in South Africa - our labour laws are very different to the US in that employees get quite a few chances before they may be dismissed - where in the US some states have the no-fault rule or the 2 strike rule.
In any case to answer your question - HR managers would draft various company policies (smoking/leave/use of company vehicle/internet ect) they would play a hand in perfomrance management/appraisal of employees and give input on what skills are needed and if you can source them internally through promotion or through recruitment - where they would be responsible for the job descriptions/appointments and contracts.
Basically HR does a lot of crappy admin that any manager could probably do but it would take too much time.
>>1039831
That's just the managers too, what do the standard hr generalists do? Because if it's just what you described, christ, do you typically need a college degree for hr? I keep seeing yes and no, and it's confusing. Maybe if HR is really like that and I can get a job there breezing along, I can finally start putting some damn money into a portfolio instead of living paycheck to paycheck.
Any /law/yers on?
Does it still count as soliciting or canvassing if the contract was terminated with my departure? Jb HiFi will have to re apply for the contract like every other company
Rotated sorry

cause of termination doesn't matter. you still can't fuck with their clients/employees for the next 12 months

Id suggest the Book "Daytrader" by Michael Sincere. Its a pretty great book to get into it. Dont wast your money on courses if youre a begginer, ive been told.

if anyone wants to have some fun give it to cars 2 go aka dynasty fiance. they try to take advantage of people who are not that intelligent. shit i was perfect on payments then they suppoably lost them.so as soon as i provided proof. they said that they r going to repo my car and sue me. for what i was current the only thing i could figure is that i was hitting on his flower. which means he bought her as a sex slave wtf. all i know is that this company needs to get it cause this is how they make their money. by losing a payment or two then repo or maybe sue if the dude has money.give em hell and any of their affiliates. idk but i know one thing for sure if u fuck with them they are going to act like a pissed off five year old. if i knew how to i would. I have a other nitch by getting dirt on all of theses corrupt government employees.
this company is in Glendale az. and towed my car illegally. they refused payment three times.so technically it was mine and they couldn't prove it was theirs no license plate no vin no gps and it was on private property. i cant believe people get away with this shit. the wild west days it would be a duel. the good old days.
How can you find penny stocks ($5<) by yourself without using websites like this? It's pretty easy to find companies with higher market caps, but I have no idea how to go about finding these smaller companies.

Hey /biz/. What makes a good manager? Im looking at being an assistant manager soon. Yeah its not much but it got me wondering anyway.
Paint the fucking parking lot on the first day
Fake it 'till you make it

It depends on your employees.
I'm not a manager, but there are a few things I've observed:
-Try to make clear what the action items are for your employees. Don't leave them guessing or you will be underwhelmed
-Favor iteration over trying to make things perfect. Be patient and calm so that employees aren't afraid to come to you with work-in-progress. Make clear to employees that when there is something to be delivered you don't want to see something perfect you want to see it at 80% so you can provide feedback.
-Don't fuck up and say something inappropriate or you will regret it.
-Don't visibly favor one employee over another
-Flatter slightly for morale but don't go overboard.

Just invested a few bucks into Ford. I've got some precum going but I'm not jizzing yet/ Anyway, I have about fifty dollhairs left to spend this time round.
What funny money (dollar stocks) should I go into?
I have 500 dollars worth of ARNA and PDLI. Worst comes to worst, I lose 500 dollars. Best case, they get scooped up in a year or 2 by one of the big boys and I end up with 30,000+% gains :)
I'm looking at getting into stocks, what is a good broker to buy them through? I'm in Aus
>>1039659
Just bought thirty shares of ARNA. After looking at their business model and latest news of course. Ford has me a little scared today but I wasn't trying to get short term returns anyway. What do you guys think of Ford though? Should I double down since it's at a three year low?

I use Etrade. Ten dollar commission.
