How would a person start a crime scene cleaning company? I think it would be a great line of work and there would always be stories to tell.

You'll need training from the IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification).

This is also the same place that certifies you for water restoration, mold restoration, fire and flood damage restoration ... shit like that. I've got the WRT cert ... classes are interesting and you learn a lot. Quite a bit of math involved for the average tradesman.

Good luck.

I don't understand this company.

Yahoo says they have a market cap of 1.16 billion dollars. They have 63 stores and before the IPO said this:
>The New York-based company plans to use the proceeds from the IPO to repay debt, as well as open new stores and renovate existing ones. Shake Shack is selling 14 percent of the company through the IPO.

So 63 stores are worth 8.3 billion!
That is an insane evaluation.

Also to repay debt and to renovate stores. Are you kidding me? So they aren't even going to use the IPO money to go national. You know, the one thing you are supposed to do!

Where is that guy that was pushing SHAK last year? I need to talk to you.

What you say has to be true. I didn't read their prospectus or quarterly reports. That's why I want that stock pusher to weigh in. Still I don't see how it could be a good investment when they aren't opening multiple stores every day.
>>
>>1042556
I think it reflects confidence in Union Square Hospitality Group as a whole, rather than just the Shake Shack brand. Probably overvalued as often with IPOs, but on the long, the brand is solid, and decreasing debt may be better for revenue than opening new stores with more borrowed money.

I am taking a year off before going to University and I've amassed a healthy sun of money(~$15k).

Should I put it into an ETF(VFV specifically) for a year and take it out then? Would it be safe to assume that in around a year it wouldn't keep falling and be a low? - I'm guessing it should rebound by next year for sure...

Are you going to be working before you go to college? If the answer is no, just fucking go to school. College is good shit.
>>
Uh, no, you take that money and lower your student loans
>>
>>1041921
1. Never invest money you need to spend
2. 15k is not a health sum, it won't even cover the menial labor you'll be paying to do.
3. Don't skip a year before college if you're not going to spend it working or travelling the world full time. Your social life will be utterly shit upon.

Xapo CEO Wences Casares has been appointed to PayPal’s board of directors, the pioneering online payments firm announced today.

https://youtu.be/67mRrp_KjM0

And what does this guy say?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPIvqJsCOSo

And who is in Xapo's Advisory Board?

https://blog.xapo.com/announcing-xapos-advisory-board/

>Dee Hock is the founder of Visa, and is responsible for effectively creating payment systems as we know them today. “Bitcoin represents not only the future of payments but also the future of governance,” Mr. Hock said. “We live in the 21st century but are still using command and control organizational structures from the 16th century. Bitcoin is one of the best examples of how a decentralized, peer-to-peer organization can solve problems that these dated organizations cannot. Like the Internet, Bitcoin is not owned or controlled by any one entity, so it presents incredible opportunities for new levels of efficiency and transparency in financial transactions.”

To make a long story short, my uncle owns a website/business that he pays about $300 a month for so that "SEO WEB" company can keep his website on the first page. after about two years he has fallen to the the second page, and decided to cut relations with said company.

He told me, he is willing to pay for any course, like the courses you find on UDEMY, so that I can learn to manage his website.

So my question is: What is the best way to go about learning this sorcery?

I will personally donate a $5 paypal tip to anyone who can lead me in the right direction.

you can still survive this but either way someone is going down
>>
>>1039367
>the oil companies
america and europe are the only ones with actual oil companies, and they're the ones eating shit you cunt nugget.

if you're talking about the harold hamm fueled myth that saudi arabia is trying to lower the price of oil to squeeze out competition, don't believe a word. he has vested interest in oil going up and blaming the muslims is a clever way to get americans on board. saudi wants higher oil prices way more than we do, they're government literally depends on it. sure, american production has increased and there is a supply glut, but that wasn't a problem when speculators and china were blindly paying $100/bbl. demand for oil is inelastic so it can be confusing to analyze, but the truth is when the price goes down we saw governments needing to produce more oil, thus the quantity supplied actually INCREASED as price fell over the short run. in came the death spiral.

I've got $10k in savings and I won't be working for the next 2-ish years because of school.
Should I just start hurling that money into an IRA or is there a more beneficial way for me to turn it into more money?
Even if it's just $1-2k over 2 years, that's better than letting it just sit.

just dump it into an index etf right the fuck now while there's still a dip. don't look at or touch until 6 months before you graduate and then keep an eye for a good opportunity to cash out.

what do?
>>
>>1044079
Keep waiting then?

It's obviously a really importune time to cash out now. But you had between October and December to leave with a profit (assuming you bought SPY or another for index instead of a worthless meme or FOREX).

This is why I said look 6 months in advance for an exit opportunity. If you wait until the second you need money you're going to get a fat turd back. Only invest money you don't need.

>Finally get first job
>tech startup, it's doing breddy well
>work there for a year, first in a sales role, before moving to an analyst role (so like excel, python, SQL)
>at the end of my first year, not sure where to go

If I stay in tech, chances are I won't make much money unless I happen to bandwagon an early-stage startup that gets big.

If I go to finance, it'll be less fun (and I'll need a slightly different skillset), but I'll make a shitton of money.

Tech bubble may burst any day, not sure what to do. Anyone else in this boat? I feel like I need to upskill as fast as possible, but can't decide if it needs to be in a more coding-orientated direction, or in a more analyst direction (e.g. financial modelling)

Job changing general, I guess

Pic sort of related- tech offices are far nicer than finance offices

Im about to graduate, how did you sink youre first job in the tech industry. Did you have coding skills already before moving into sales?

I want to work for a scale up tech firm and work as project manager later on. I had an internship at Thomson Reuters working in the strategy teams. It was great and i learnt a lot about product/project management and strategy. But I didn't know how to code or anything.

I wouldnt mind a sales role, because even if i'm a slight introvert on the spectrum, i think its a pretty crucial step to being able to work in strategy effectively.
>>
> tech bubble will bust
this is retarded.
tech isn't an isolated field.
there will always be a need in every modern industry for it. the field may be saturated soon with people straight out of college, but that doesn't matter if you already have experience.
>>
>>1043858
>how did you sink youre first job in the tech industry

Applied and got lucky. Helped that I knew someone working there, but I also had a lot of interview practice under my belt. Took fucking forever to find work though.

No, no coding skill beforehand- I'm good with languages, so I thought sales would be a natural choice, but I hated it. Kind of took an interest in coding during that time, so moved into the analyst role. Not too much coding involved, but enough to make it interesting.

>I wouldnt mind a sales role, because even if i'm a slight introvert on the spectrum, i think its a pretty crucial step to being able to work in strategy effectively.

I'd question that- sales is a pretty specific relationship-based thing imo. It'll help you learn the company and the industry, but in my experience, some people just like selling and others dont- I was the latter.

>there will always be a need in every modern industry for it. the field may be saturated soon with people straight out of college, but that doesn't matter if you already have experience.

To be clear, I was referring to the tech startup bubble, rather than tech in general.

It's more a case that the Silicon Valley gold rush is showing signs of coming to an end. It might not, mind you, but it's something that the back of my mind. Same shit happened to my cousins during the dotcom boom- came out of college with IT degrees to find there were suddenly no jobs where once they had been thick on the ground

Too broad a question to give a good answer.

Project managers in my industry (management consulting) get paid a decent amount. Expect to work as an underling for a couple of years and get PMP cert/MBA. But I think satisfaction is more than salary.

Being a project manager you have to take shit from the client while managing the shitheads who work under you. You become an expert in pushing shit around. I guess its a valuable skill; shit has to get pushed, people who push it well are rewarded. But why would you want to spend your life shoveling other people's shit?

She works probably 20hours a week from home, and makes like $15k - $20k a year. Not bad for a little hobby in her garage.
