ITT we post how much we've lost over time trading

I'm about -$11k

First deposited likle 6k in a sketch forex broker and lost it all pretty much instantly. Had NO idea what I was doing. No stops, so I took like an overleveraged -300 pip loss.

Studied for awhile after that, put in about 8k and then lost 2k and bailed.

6+2=8

Put in about 3k more after a year of studying and lost 2k of that. Now I'm trading at 500 and still struggling to keep my emotions in check but it's getting there.

6+2+3=11

It's hard with $500 though because any loss sucks (in the US, 1:50 10k ml min). But I pretty much oscillate from 500-1000 now, but again any loss that I fuck up or multiple losses in a row even with the most minimal risk % just sucks tits.

Idk what to do. I feel like I'm better (have a 5 pip stop and have kept my emotions in check for at least a year now) but its like.. ugh.

Any one with stories like mine that came out on top?

why don't you buy stuff that is about to go up and sell stuff that is about to go down?
and close the positions when they moved up or down respectively.

Hey guys. I plan on creating a t-shirt company. But I have some questions?

> Where can I find a manufacturer?

> What is a business friendly country where I could run the business at a low cost (but not too far from bigger markets)?

What is the absolute max I can spend on rent a month in a large city if I make 38k?
9 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1045536
As much as you want but the average rule is 1/3rd of your after-tax income.

So if $38k is after taxes then $1055/month.
>>
>>1045540
no. no. 38k is my income before tax. I make like 26k after tax :(. Im just out of school
>>
Also, is there a best time of year to rent? Should I wait till summer?

Oil won't come back for at least 5 years. That's what the GM people are saying when they talk about their gas guzzler sales.

"Overall, I think these [high] sales will be stable for at least the next three or four years," he said. "And we continue to see an upside potential. The only threat to SUV sales might be increasing gas prices, which seem unlikely."

Yeah I wouldn't. Full on satellite spy tracking, remote disable, chips in every component (to prevent theft) so very expensive replacements when things start to inevitably fail and poor reliability.

Lately I've been thinking about buying a bunch of second hand vending machines. I figure they literally just sit there and make money off lard asses who want an overpriced can of coke. Is this a good idea? Is it difficult to find a place to set up a vending machine? I figure most offices and schools would be cool with it if I gave them a cut?
3 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
I tried this.

You'd think, wew lad, passive income, pretty simple right? Wrong.

It's a huge pain in the ass to find a single place that isn't already occupied by vending machines.

Once you find that place you have to cut them in (the school, work, club, wherever) about 15%+ or pay them a monthly fee.

After all that's done, you have to transport these huge machines to the locations, and pray to god people don't fucking rekt them kicking them open or damage them. Because then you're fucked.

Okay, say you finally have 6 machines set up. Well now you need at least 20 hours dedicated to refilling and maintenance and money collecting on these machines, every week.

And a lot of the time, the earnings are fucking nothing. $10 profit on a machine is a good week. $10 fucking dollars.

How you calculate profit after all the trouble/gas/refilling/etc of these machines? Well that's up to you.

Also you have the fact that new vending super companies like the Avanti System, that use debit card payments, have video cameras, and unbeatable prices because they are mass stocked, will kill your business.

Fuck OP. Vending machines are a worse investment than fucking coin operated laundramats.

I wouldn't even bother with it. You'd have better luck selling candy bars from a shack at a swap meet or something.
>>
>>1045407
No. Youll average 86 cents per machine a day. How many would it take to replace your income?

Alright /biz/ i have a question. I want to build credit, and i have a credit card, what i do is use my credit card for almost everything (anything over $10) and i immediately go online and pay it off. I heard this DOES not improve credit score. Is this true?
Also credit card/credit score general i suppose.

Unrelated sure, but I'm thinking about applying for a local Credit Unions credit card.
How much credit should I ask for? My credit score is a little over 700

Keep looking

I work on a business company, and we are currently selling products to a company in Singapore. They buy a lot of iPhones and Mac computers, and until now they have used more than 20 credit cards. Sometimes these cards are rejected, so they just send other ones, just like that.

I would like to know if these cards are fake, because most of them have been approved, and we have received the money in our account. But I don't want the police to come to our facilities, so I want to be sure that those cards are not fake. Any advice?

Are they all in the name of the company? .
>>
>>1045073
No, they are at the name of the person. Also they don't mention what type of credit card it is (Mastercard, AmEx)
>>
>>1045070
Would need more info but I can tell you a sure sign is if the barcode itself doesn't work leaving you to manually input the details its probably a duplicate.

Hey, anons, should I quit my job or let myself get fired after recieving a week and a half of notice because I told them I won't be able to work enough hours?
My dad said I should write them a letter asking to switch jobs from deli to carry boxes outback or something, but honestly I feel like it's too little too late for that right now.
In all honestly, I've ranged from being a great employee to being just an okay employee so I don't feel entitled to much.
Is it unwise not to be an unscrupulous grabber of all I can get right now?
Is it dignified to ask for a new job elsewhere in Kroger?
Should I care?

>>1044998
What you do there doesn't matter. Kroger is a dead end job un less you're working at corporate, managing distribution, you know, the important jobs.
>>
>>1044998
How old are you? Is there a reason you wanna be at kroger vs any other grocery store?

Wouldnt hurt to ask if they have any alternative jobs you could do there, but you can get a basic grocery store job anywhere pretty easily so wouldnt sweat it too much.

Just be real clear on what hours you can do upfront.

I ask because I've retreated to materialism to find worth (not because I have any money, but because one can objectively be better than others through the conquest of goods) and it hasn't helped at all. Aside from (surprise) not winning the lottery, I can't figure out where on earth to start for making money. I'm 20 with all of no skills (though some college education and ongoing) and no passions, friends, or romantic partners, so I have all of no value otherwise.

Since being rich is the only way I can be content in life, it's the path I want to take, but I'm stuck not knowing which way to go. Start a business? How does one obtain the capital? What sort of business? Invent something? Well, that usually requires experience in a field to know what to look for to invent. What field?

Currently a CE student.

How do you guys keep hobbies? Whenever I find an interest in something, I realize I won't ever gain wealth through it and drop it. Unfortunately, I never find anything and keep it to reach the same goal.

For starters.. Cap rate
Lirr and unleveraged
Monthly cash flows
Yrly cash flows
Budget comparison of yours vs developer (If you're building)
Refinance options
YOC
Exit cap rate and strategy with account of COS
Rental growth projections.
Vacancy projections in your area.
I can keep going.

I manage a business and found out from the owner of my company that I needed to have a regular handyman on file. I found this out when an emergency came up and was scrambling to find someone to fix it. I posted an ad on Craigslist and went with the first person who replied.

I told him my situation, that I had made a mistake in not having a handyman on file and that my boss was under the impression that I did. Without doing any research or negotiating, I asked him to be our regular handyman and probably sounded pretty desperate.

Under contract, I owe him $250 per week, have to pay for a license when it gets renewed (not sure what for), and $150 per hour of work plus materials costs.

After signing, I did some research online and can't find anything about handymen getting regular pay. And pay per hour of work looks like between $40 and $75. Did I get had by signing on with this guy on emergency?

like everything you get what you pay for.

What kind of business do you manage?
>>
in America this would be called rape (unless NYC)

If he's a licensed General Contractor and he's actually gonna do the work himself and he knows what he is doing it's not terrible.

But yeah you could have gotten someone much cheaper.
