Seriously, stop this meme. Throw away your money on stocks while knowing nothing about the market is a great way to lose everything. Day trading in general doesn't generate great returns. As a regular investor you should be more dividend focused in your market investments and worry less about stock price.

Can an American buy property in Canada?

Now that the currency is devaluating, it seems like the right time to snatch up cheap property, then turn aground and sell it to the Chinese when it goes back up.

>Cheap property

You know we have the most inflated real estate in the world and the bubble is popping because no one except for Chinese millionaires can afford homes, right?
>>
>>1047827
Yeah this, look at the annual returns in our property market. Total bubble territory. I can only hope the.Chinese stop buying up all our shit

I'm a banker in Florida and we've had multiple funds of various American and foreign investors buying up foreclosed and distressed and other residential properties as of late. They buy homes in the $100k-$300k price range and then rent them out. I've personally seen at least $300 million worth of these funds pop up as of late; there's probably billions more I don't see.

>The oil price has recovered slightly after earlier falling below $28 a barrel, as Opec predicts crude will mount a recovery this year.
>Brent crude, used as an international benchmark, fell as low as $27.67 a barrel, its lowest since 2003, before recovering to trade at $28.86.
>The price of US crude was $29.65 a barrel after hitting $28.36.

So is this good or bad?

Where did I fuck up? I set low prices, added a good picture, and provided a good description page with a custom design. The auction duration is set to 7 days by the way.

Anyone here considered setting up a porn site?

How are you competing with xvideos and brazzers?
>>
>>1047333
I was thinking more of a site where you cater to a niche. So for instance shemales or something. Start off by ripping videos from major sites, but also give the option for users to upload their own for when your site grows
>>
>>1047331
Saturated market unless you're super-niche. Go look at TBLOP. Also you're going to make nothing with just ads (streaming video is expensive), you'd need some sort of premium model.

Tell me what it is. Picture is not me.

How and where do I go from here?

Like seriously, where the fuck do I go from my current position.

I'm fully engulfed in the society circle of a dead end job and constant paycheck to paycheck. I have literally $0 by the time I have paid everything, even then I'm still starving myself every month,

My dream has always ALWAYS been to start my own business or get into investments but I just don't know where to go from my position, It's like I'm trapped in this circle and there is no way for me to make capital (loans aren't an option)

I can literally feel my dreams slipping away from me /biz/

Someone fucking save me please.

Figure something out man.

Think unconventionally. Learn and practice a new skill, you can easily monetize with the internet.

I've sold all my ETFs at Ameritrade last year and decided to build my own moderately conservative "ETF" with Robinhood.

Goodbye trading fees. Goodbye ETF yearly maintenance fee.

$200k split between 50 small/mid cap companies of my choosing.

Criteria:
>3% dividend yield
<20 PE ratio
<3B market cap
examples: Cal-Maine, Douglas Dynamics, DSW, Gannett, Hillenbrand, Petmed, Rent-A-Center, Seadrill

I haven't bought anything yet. What are the negatives of this plan? Why doesn't everyone do this?

You are not building an ETF you're building a portfolio.
>>
>>1046530

True, highly diversified portfolio. That's why I put ETF in quotes.

>What are the negatives of this plan? Why doesn't everyone do this?

because not everyone has the time and motivation to manage 50+ product in their portfolio.

Yes. He knows how to exploit entrepreneurs by staking them and taking a huge cut of their profits indefinitely. Some of these people would be way better off just getting a loan from the bank.

Is gold and silver a good investment or just a Libertarian meme?

I'm currently at college getting everything paid by daddy, and from my tutoring gig i have loads of cash to invest. Is gold and silver a good idea? The prices seem pretty volatile and there's no inherent value to them really. I may just put my cash into index mutual funds.

What do you think about precious metals /biz/?

Quick Resume Question: I worked from home in college doing remote customer support for some startup. I was 1099 and don't think I ever had sustained contact with any "superiors" outside of some emails where I asked questions about how to deal with situations that weren't in the pdf they gave me.

Do I put the company's name on the resume, even though if they check with them they might not have any record of me, or do I put that I was self-employed?

Also, resume thread, I guess.

Hey I'm a first year Finance major. Do you guys have any good books that I could pick up to read to deepen my understanding of the vocabulary and just the general subject?

This will sound dumb, but go pick up a for dummies book on finance or investing, or both. Seriously, those books are actually pretty damn helpful.

Also

>The Intelligent Investor
>A Random Walk Down Wall Street

Two different approaches to investing that I'd recommend anyone new to the subject read.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/sean-cooper-mortgage-debt-1.3402026

>Not wanting to face a lifetime of debt, Cooper sacrificed three years of his life to pay down a $255,000 mortgage on a $425,000 Toronto home he bought in 2012.

> He worked up to 100 hours a week at three jobs: pension analyst; financial writer; and supermarket clerk. Naturally, the bachelor's social life suffered. Cooper also lived like a pauper, maintaining a strict budget and residing in the basement so he could collect rent on the rest of his house.

>"It could be interpreted that the finger is being pointed at me. Why am I not working 100 hours a week?"

Thoughts on this /biz/ ?

Feel sorry for the guy working like an animal for an expensive house. Had he worked as hard these last years living at his parent's house(with 100 hours per week you have no life anyway) then very soon he could probably buy 2-3 houses for that money.

I would love to these this. Literally every single home in Toronto is 1 million+.
