Why is prostitution illegal? Sex is legal and selling services is legal.

its not illegal if you report that you want to have sex for money
>>1056262
Everyone buys sex shit Lord think about taking her to dinner dates expenses. Prostitution just skips all the bs
Why don't schools offer more classes for children about finance? I feel like learning about history and math and science is important, but that our schools are fundamentally fucking failing to tell people how to be responsible with money or how to not be a total chucklefuck. I've seen so many people continue to live at their means (or how they'll be able to afford it soon in the future, accruing debt), not paying off the minimum payment on said debt, and getting debt on their debt
it's crazy.
The only way for us to get rich is for stupid people to get poor
>>1056012
Yeah but I feel like the system is failing as far as education goes
like damn son it's pretty bad
Because then it would be much harder to keep them in debt and fuck them for all that they're worth.
We can't all be millionaires
Why doesn't everyone here just become a doctor or dentist?
Guaranteed $200k+ salary and easy to start your own business after a while. I don't even think dentists have to go through much schooling, either.
Why go through all of this trouble of working 100+ hours a week at an investment banking unpaid internship just so you could land a $100k job with a low chance of you ever becoming the boss?
>>1055876
MD's are just wageslaves for higher wages.
Also I don't like touching other people.
>>1055876
It's not that easy, for medicine there's always A LOT of people that want to get in, making it more difficult. Also that's not for everyone, i almost vomit when i see a stranger's blood, much less touching them or something
Because it takes 8 years+ of your life, and hundreds of thousands to get started.
It also is very difficult to get into med(and dentistry) school.
>read "How to become a millionaire" by MJ Demarco
>realize I dont really have "Value" to give to the world hence I am not making a lot of money
Where do I start? How?
I dont know if I am interpreting this right but it sounds like I dont really need an original idea (will be great though) just an idea that people will place value in for some reason, perceived or real.

anyone else here sick of taxes?
why is everyone else enjoying my money when I'm sunk in debt for paying my own education, health, etc?
Is equality so important that I have to live my so "priviledged" life like a minimum wage shithead?
and the government simply just asks asks and asks, the ride never ends

Then vote for people who will lower your taxes or reduce entitlements.
Disclaimer: I don't vote
You know in your (likely) income your taxes don't pay for your own use of public services right?
If you were making anything half decent you'd know how to pay minimal taxes thanks to your accountant and opening a corporation.
>>1055284
What use of public services
Hell I live in a private condo with gate controls to defend myself from robbers on welfare
If it was for the roads I'd gladly pay for them, but they aren't worth 70% taxes
What does /biz/ think of it? It seems like a very easy way to make money from home.
Oversaturated market, unreliable, good luck when a customer wants a return or exchange, any poor service or product quality/faults are blamed on you, etc
But if you can maintain a good distributor and have a buyer base, you might as well try. You're generally going to have to charge very high to make any worth it profit and get undercut - often by your own distributor
What kind of jobs would be available to me if I got a PhD in Statistics? What kind of salary could I expect straight out of school?
>>1054982
Any job. $300k starting.
>>1055004
No, seriously though...
>>1055019
No he's actually pretty goddamn serious. Did you say a fucking doctorate in statistics? That is Priestegeous AS FUCK. The fastest and best paying jobs are analytics and data scientists....that's where you belong. You'll be making 150k with super good benefits MINIMUM STARTING (unless if you literally went to the shittiest school and have literally 0 experience).
Very good ass prospects, in the next ten years Statistics majors are in higher demand than computer science...you read that right.

So I have a bit of money I'd like to invest, about $5,000.
Stocks are scary and weak right now. CDs are a joke. Etc. Not much is paying anything. Not much can even keep up with inflation. I don't have anywhere near enough capital to get into real estate, but even if I did I'm not sure it's a good time for that.
So right now my moola is mostly parked in index funds, with a bit in silver (ha). But I would like to be collecting assets.
I sometimes buy tax liens, and get a pretty much guaranteed return of 16% or so that way. But the liens available locally are few and far between, not very high in value, and they only sell them once a year. I don't have the time to investigate liens in other locales.
I've invested a bit into an indie computer game in exchange for percentage of profits. Maybe it'll be a dud, but from what the developer is showing me progress-wise I'm hopeful for a mini-hit. At least my investment is small enough I won't be out much.
Been developing some intellectual property. Not very creative though, and am a shit marketer and my heart isn't really in it. I've made perhaps only $500 or so over the past 3 years with this. Bleh.
So, any other ideas for things I could look into? Assets! Assets! Assets!
bump for interest
Guess either no one is here, or no one has ideas, or everyone is just keeping their precious ideas to themselves. :)

>Stocks are scary and weak right now.
This is exactly the time to invest in stocks. I would suggest GM, INTC or CAT. Good companies with solid dividends.
We're going to be witnessing one of the biggest short squeezes in history very soon.

In an ideal world, I would like to be a session guitarist. That'll sadly never happen. I do not want to starve so music probably is not the way to go. Guitar will just be a lifelong hardcore hobby.
I feel like any job I do I am going to hate. This isn't a good feeling. I'm not a complete retard so I have potential to make a decent living. I was thinking about being an accountant, but I do not want to sell my soul to some Big Four corporation.
Any advice for an edgy high school senior, /biz/?
>>1055843
If I were in your position, I'd go do something which teaches you more about the world than accounting. Especially, since the demand is going to go down for accountants as much of their work is automated.
I'd say you'd probably find some sort of passion studying something in STEM. Love discovering things = Science, Love inventing/building things = Engineering. The issue is that an ACT score of 27 is pretty shit desu, senpai. You aren't going to get into Stanford with that score.
>>1055856
Thanks for taking the time to respond, senpai.
Yeah, the ACT score could of been better. I got my college situation settled though. I'm going to a local state university that's giving me a pretty good scholarship.
I know where I'm gonna spend the next four to five years of my life, it's just the struggle of knowing what to study so I can live a passionate adulthood. I really do not want to be an office drone. I just want to make a decent living so I can support a kiddo and have a life outside of work.
Excuse the bitching. It's late, and I think I am having a "quarter life crisis".
>>1055865
>I really do not want to be an office drone
Don't worry, after a few years out of college you'll be really happy to have an office job...
