Anyone has extensive knowledge if the unclaimed property process?

The state websites have a lot of info for US citizens, but close to nothing for foreign citizens.
A relative of mine has over 6000 USD unclaimed in California, but she is an EU citizen. Any idea on how to enforce the claim?
7 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1115364
The process is virtually identical. Have her contact the treasury and they'll walk her through it. Does require a bit more documentation.
>>
>>1115431
Okay I did not mention that none of the involved parties are located in the US (including me), so even contacting the treasury is not that easy.
According to California state website, they don't wire money, only use cheques which is also a totally foreign concept here in our country, not even sure if I can cash those in.

Is it too late to make a career change? I've always heard and been told that once you go general labor, it's impossible to get into anything else.

I'm 22 and have been working general labor since I turned 18. I work at a food plant and make $18/hour, taking home around $3K a month after overtime. I hate my life though. I work 7 days a week and always feel tired. I just want to get a cozy cubicle job making the same but working less. What should I do?

what is your job at the food plant, how much do you have saved up, what are your expenses, cost of living for your area? what other industries in your area?
>>

>I've always heard and been told that once you go general labor, it's impossible to get into anything else.
Heard from who? Guys in their 40s-50s who got stuck in deadend jobs because they were too dumb to do anything else?

Apply for some office assistant jobs or some shit. Once you get in the game you can start working your way up. You probably won't be any happier though.
>>
>>1115264

no its not too late. I started studying software dev at 26 and now im working in the industry not even 2 years later.

Something I've encountered recently:

>Talking to/overhearing a retiring boomer who is trying to sell their McMansion™ and move to warmer climates.
>"I can't get anyone to buy my house! Millenials aren't buying houses! And I don't want to pay taxes on this house AND my Florida/Pheonix house!"
>insert tirade how millenials are a bunch of hippie communists who want to live in communal blocks in urban city centers
>They don't stop to consider for a second that Millenials aren't buying houses because they can't fucking afford the McMansion™ that they've bloated up to a 500K+ price tag over the years.

I'm pushing 30 and so badly want a house. All my co-workers and friends want houses. We talk about and watch HGTV constantly and forlornly discuss what we would do so much better than the stuff on TV.

But all I hear from news sources and older generations is that we are trying to destroy the American way by not buying houses. But we can't afford them, we also can't afford to work in the suburbs where there are no jobs. What the fuck is going to happen when all the retirees move out/die/whatever? Everyone says interest rates are low, now is the time to buy, but I can't save up enough for a down-payment, and obviously the whole non-down-payment thing didn't work out too well in the past...

Lets all move to hungary. You can get houses there nice ones for €30,000
>>
>>1113755
OP it's Phoenix and the state is Arizona. You have no need to buy a house in this market unless you're 100% sure that you're either
a) going to live there the rest of your life or
b) viewing real estate as an investment
>>
>>1113755
i think its because real estate agents fuck up house prices.
a house sells for 200k so the realtor selling a house down the street list it for 210k for comparison pricing. That house sells now another real estate agent down the street list another house for 220k and it sells.. this cycle goes on and on. just because they are real estate agents doesn't mean they know much about the economy but yet we give them the power to price houses.
I feel as if another bubble is near. Baby boomers want to retire and sell their houses that they had for their job and family and want to down size but don't have anybody to buy them
There will be a huge supply of houses and no demand for them due to the prices.
Prices fall and people will start buying again and then the real estate agents will start their retarded cycle again thinnking they know what they are doing because they deal with houses

I own and manage a few properties and my mom is a real estate agent and it's disgusting to see her and her real estate friends price houses.

Sorry we don't cater to brony buttplug wearers seeking traps to have foot fetish sex while fantasizing about their mothers and unicorns.

Glad you went back to where ever you're from so that your nation's gene pool will further your DNA only if they work a deal with the local peep show's jizz mopper.

Hello,

I am looking for a program that allows me to engage in stock trades independently. Something that day traders use. If you don't know, that's fine, please move along. If you do know please impart me with your wisdom.

Thank you

We hardly have any online presence, and most of our leads are generated offline (eg. cold calling, visiting local businesses, meeting up with business owners, etc.). We sell art, so it's not exactly a quick and easy buy.

Second check

25%to savings
25% to living expenses. ( gas, food , dates)
>>

I work in a chemist in Australia, where I spend a lot of time with Chinese tourists who barely speak english. Basically, they come in and buy as much stock as possible of a few select items which are currently trending in whatever uppermiddleclass-china part they come from, and sell them on. Apparently, this stuff (baby formula, vitamins, cosmetic creams) is only available from chinese brands over there, which people don't trust because of scare-stories about lead in baby formula and shit.

These people spend hundreds of dollars at my store alone, and because we have max stock purchases they seem to go from store to store spending thousands. Sometimes their credit cards are declined, so they're clearly spending as much as possible.

For the chemist chain im referring to, I get a small staff discount, which means jack but if i mass-buy could be worthwhile. Could I, with the help of someone who speaks chinese, conceivably make some money off doing what these tourists are doing? How lucrative is resale like this? Who would I be selling on to/how?
10 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
staff discount contracts won't allow you to and you'll be busted for it ( losing your job etc )

what'd be better is to find a distributor for your product and then open your own store, which you can port to china (online site or etc )

keep your job and save up a bit, get some shit shipped to you and sell it online to chinese. when chinese customers come in slip them a business card ( without your boss knowing because that could be against contract aswel )

put chink language on it for added customers, but first either learn chinese or get someone who is

( I am currently, and i would be interested, but I know I'm not at that level yet )
>>
>>1114919
but WHY is it only available from chinese brands?

I know they only allow a limited amount of hollywood or western films to be shown at the chinese box office, so as to protect their domestic film market. I dare say they are doing the same with the industries producing these commodities. It's worth looking into, but my bet is you'll run into import problems when trying to get these things into china, these tourists are probably able to get a suitcase of shit in, but good luck with pallets of the crap.
>>
>>1114919
Basically, they're buying foreign shit because their government has deregulated everything to the point where they've been adulterating things with harmful shit.

Your best option would be to bulk-buy from cash and carry stores, and sell it to them at the ports.

Alternatively, organise boat trips for them to sell it on-board duty free.

Or you arrange things with someone in china to import it by the container-load.
