Does anyone else pretend for social/business benefits?
Do you ever make up stories at work or try to seem more knowledgeable(or maybe even less) or to have more/less social status?
Personally I have very few friends but I read a lot and watch pop culture movies and stuff so I just make up stories.

This type of stuff seems to make you more socially valuable and now your coworkers look up to you and try to compare their lives to you rather than look down on you and feel (perhaps subconsciously) superior to you.
I also like to make up girlfriends I've had so that I seem more high value. Rather than telling someone I've had barely 2 gfs.
But I also do the opposite. It feels like whenever someone finds out I have extensive knowledge of a topic(s) or (modest) wealth they begin to bombard me with questions. It feels as though they either get jealous or bitter/angry because they try to always poke holes in what I succeeded at.

At first I spent extensive time replying truthfully but now I tend to play dumb and downplay anything or feign uncertainty/doubt in my knowledge.
Just wondering if anyone does anything similar or has some interesting stories to share as to how it's noticeably benefitted them one way or the other. As well as bring the idea up since I know a lot of people on here are used to "always being right"/truthful as a side effect of *Chan.

He omits that its his house. He drives a honda to work b/c of gas mileage but omits that he has custom built hot rods in the garage. Because the gold diggers come out fast and furious.
Money is a serious motivator and girls will act way differently.
Learn to manage your image anon and respond to these situations in productive ways that benefit yourself and those around you.

A general question for STEMfags, particularly engineers: how incompetent does someone have to be to get fired from a staff engineering position making ~$75k to falling back on a job making ~$55k as an engineering technician?
If you saw this on a resume would you conclude that the individual must be incompetent?

This is a meme by low-IQ casuals. The thing is, BTC is not only already a better safe haven than Gold in ever aspect possible, but it will scale to surpass VISA and all the competition as well.
First of all, im here to get rich, and there's a ton of potential growth in BTC, I don't care if it never becomes a successful "paypal" so to speak, the real value is on a "Gold 2.0" approach. There's trillions of potential growth on there as physical cash dies. Marketcap is only 6bn now.
The thing is, it will deliver the most decentralized, fast and cheap payment alternative too.
The Lightning Network can potentially outdo VISA in any case.

It would be even better if the BTC network supported a near-unlimited number of transactions per second with extremely low fees for micropayments. They hate this because they will not be able to control the nodes by bribing the big datacenters that they want to run nodes so they can have it all nicely located, instead of random people under TOR running the nodes (Core approach)
