The waters have been tested.
Only about 2.5 mill RADS to go around, get in before the pump lads!
Some more info about RADS, the mktcap is only at $1.5 million, which is nothing for a coin so scarce. The total amount of RADS is 3 mil, so right now it's incredibly easy to own a significant amount.
On top of that the coin isn't even a year old and hasn't received a serious pump yet even though it's contending with Factom
Price is up nearly 10% since my OP, this mktcap can grow x5 easily
Fuck off biz shilling some stupid fucking crypto coin every other day
All cryptos are bullshit fucking faggots
So /biz/, I've been working on a startup for about 2 years with a friend of mine. We have a softlaunched website with most of our features implemented already. One of our biggest features isn't done yet, but it's extremely close (only have to do the frontend).
The problem is my friend is quitting. He was very stressed about the work, used all his free time to work on a project for a different company behind my back, and jumped off the second that other company offered him a paycheck. He's being a bro and giving all his equity back, though, so I'm not too angry with him.
The problem is that I'm suddenly all alone on this project. I'd like to spend my summer working on it, but I'm 19, and I really should get a job over the summer to protect from college expenses.
This seems like a great time to go shopping around for investment cash (I have some fairly solid data that this market is large and under-served), but I don't really need huge sums. I honestly only need about $5K, and I don't think any investor is going to go that small. Kickstarter seemed like another option, but creating a campaign is a long process and I'm not sure if anybody is going to crowdfund a website.
So, what should I do? Should I try to crowdfund this, or should I go shopping for investors and try to make this a full-time thing? Would it be better if I found another partner first? If I should get another partner, how can I be sure the person I'm picking isn't retarded?

Maybe you should rethink your life if you can't afford 5 grand to start your "great idea"
>>1181262
I'm 19 and a freshman in college, and it's more to complete the idea than to start it. Like I said, most of its built already.
>>1181265
Why not just get a job and work on your project in your free time?

So, it seems that a strong majority of people want to be rich in the general population.
Then, how come so few people actually even 'make it'?
wanting to be rich and actually trying it and seeing effort are very different things. most people are idiotic goyim who fail to think independently enough and are fixated on money itself or looking like you are rich(car loans, trademark clothes etc)
>>1181074
resources are scarce and being rich is relative
most people dont get what they want in life.
Hi /biz/
I'll join next August the UBS M&A team in London and I would like to hear some of your opinions about the company and M&A over there.
>What do you think about the company?
I know it's not the best IB but it's still a bulge bracket bank and currently the most profitable European IB.
>Heard that their culture is really good.
>Should I try to change to another IB next year?
>What about the M&A team in London?
>Is it easy to change office in a couple years? Maybe SG, HK or even NY?
Sorry for not answering your questions and asking my own but I'm starting uni in the uk this october.
>inb4 underage I'm 18
Anyway what advice would you give for getting interviews , interships ect?
Same guy as above just some advice.
A HSBC MD said on an insight day that anything less than two years at a bank before switching looks dodgy so i would avoid that

>A HSBC MD said on an insight day that anything less than two years at a bank before switching looks dodgy
mmh actually that makes sense, I'll try to stick to that
>advice would you give for getting interviews , interships ect?
My first advice is check google. There are plenty of websites (like http://www.mergersandinquisitions.com/ ) with free internship questions and application advices. Nonetheless some less common advices that I wooul give you are:
1. Getting through the screening part is having luck, so you either do some networking or hope for luck (I didn't network fyi but had incredible luck :D)
2. Prepare numerical and logical reasoning test well. I payed for some test training exercicies. Only thing I payed for preparation, really worth it.
3.Once you know what division you like (IBD or S&T), learn as much as you can from uni or internet.
4. Read FT frequently and follow capital markets in order to know what is going on, what are the months important news or deals, etc.
5. Apply for insight week or insight day. If you have done point 3 and 4 you will clearly stand out during the networking events, presentations and interviews and you'll get straight forward a summer internship offer.
6. Remember it's not always about the grades. Yeah having good grades is important but once you have passed the screening and got to the first interview it's up to your skills. Having a CV with lots of extracurricular activities helps to stand out. I am top 20% of my promotion and got an offer, two top 5% of my promotion got kicked out of all the Top consulting and all banks bc they just had good grades, nothing else.
7. Remember IBs are SELL SIDE, we SELLstuff to our clients which means we have to convince them. It's just like a sales man of some really technical fincial products or companies, which means they need a sales man kind of type, not nerdy who cannot work in team and cannot do a proper presentation in front of people.
I was an idiot and went to school for Theatre Arts, I was hopeful for an acting career, and I am getting SOME jobs but I need something that will make cash more fluid in the mean time.
What can I do with this degree? I work retail at the moment but there is no room for advancement. I don't want to just be making a little over minimum wage for the rest of my life. What do I do? Or what can I do?

Do anyone else notice the benefit nofap has on business gains and law of attraction?
i tried no fap and didnt notice anything. did you have any positive results? maybe i need to abstain for longer... or it'st just a placebo and that never works for me.
it only really works on people who are legit porn addicts
otherwise there wont be much of a difference
>>1181256
w-what is a legit porn addict?
>tfw you get shit on for telling people you want to become rich
Why does everyone get upset with me when I tell them I aspire to be wealthy?
everyone wants to be wealthy
>>1180949
shut the fuck up
>>1180949
because people base morality based on if you aspire to have money versus helping others, i suppose.
What does /biz/ think of Southwestern advantage. I'm from Eastern Europe and have been approached to join their ranks and go sell books in the USA as a summer internship. I listened very carefully during the interviews and presentations, and lied and lied and lied to my recruiter just to get them to like me and invite me again so I can gain more information. I honestly think it's an invitation for slave labor.
Have any of you ever been involved with them? Did you make money? Were the hours that bad? was there really no responsibility from the company regarding your health and legal troubles?
tl;dr Is Southwester advantage good as a summer job?

My college isnt prestigious ebough for me to do IB so dont suggest that
>>1180873
You think it's that easy?
>>1180876
Yeah im a pretty smart guy im sure i could do it
you should study how you can get in touch with reality.
Anyone in the trades, what is your opinion on becoming a carpenter? I live in Canada (Ontario) and you can become a licensed carpenter, like all other trades. My dad is a plumber and my brother is currently a 3rd year apprentice under him and will get his license in about a year. The only thing is most "carpenters" i have seen working with my dad on jobs as a labourer are just some buddy who can put studs up on 16 inch centres and not licensed. Nothing wrong with that but if i am going to go to school and take about 4 years to become licensed i would like it to be a valuable skill and the pay that goes with it.
Me, my dad and my brother have plans to start doing some small renos etc. My end-game goal would most likely after getting licensed try to become self-employed or keep up with the renos. If not work for a company, either way becoming licensed gives me the option to do all three.
I'm also scared i have some meme warped view of what a carpenter does and the work experience.
Short supply of welders in Canada, that would be a good choice if you want security. I'm an engineering dropout, going to community college in the fall to get a carpentry certificate. You should watch New Yankee Workshop.
>>1180717
>I'm also scared i have some meme warped view of what a carpenter does and the work experience.
don't be afraid of heights, a lot of carpenting starters fall down and even kill themselves because they have a bad sense of balance.
>>1180729
What are your plans after you get your that certificate, is that just a course to give you the essential skills to get started to do your apprenticeship or are you from a US state that doesn't require any of that?
>>1180733
Not going to lie i am not too fond of heights but have worked in some heights fine. Worked around lots of 6-15ft holes working with my dad and doing some concrete forming with a guy he knew in the beginning of winter. Probably laughable heights compared to what i would be doing.
http://www.salon.com/2014/06/08/colleges_are_full_of_it_behind_the_three_decade_scheme_to_raise_tuition_bankrupt_generations_and_hypnotize_the_media/
>The price of a year at college has increased by more than 1,200 percent over the last 30 years, far outpacing any other price the government tracks: food, housing, cars, gasoline, TVs, you name it. Tuition has increased at a rate double that of medical care, usually considered the most expensive of human necessities. It has outstripped any reasonable expectation people might have had for investments over the period.
Thoughts, biz?
Is college still the great financial decision it was for generations of yore?
>price goes up
>value goes down
>is it still worth it
sometimes
>Salon
College and school in general is just a meme to babysit kids while they are too hormonal and stupid to be of any use.
So /biz/, where can I get access to NON-delayed stock price quotes for free? Most free services I have found all have delays.
I'd be in heaven if I had access to a Bloomberg terminal(hacked accounts for sale anyone?). Currently I've been using the Interactive Brokers desktop client with a trial account to watch prices but it's got a fuckin' 15 MINUTE delay. What gives?
>>1180614
Either a broker you have deposited money on or kill yourself.
>>1180620
Great, thanks for the input!
>>1180634
No, really. The exchanges make you pay for instant quotes, that's why shit like Bloomberg is so expensive (among other things).
/biz/, I'm entering law school and I want to know what's the best line of work for a lawyer?
I'm thinking business/corporate law. If so, how can I be an expert on it before majoring and, as a result, have an advantage on my competitors? (i.e books, courses, films)
Maritime, defendant side.
Are you nervous about getting into law? I've heard nothing but horror stories.
>>1180571
like what? too much work / hours?
Ok, I have 0.5 bitcoins roughly, and there is something that I want to buy with it. I know there are proxy buyers that will purchase something using paypal for you if you send them the equivalent amount of BTC, but unfortunately the ONLY retailer of the particular item I want to purchase does not accept paypal or BTC as payment. They do accept mastercard, visa, discover card, and American express.
Are there any proxy buyers who will use one of these payment methods to purchase something in return for bitcoin? If so, what are the web addresses for said sites? Yes, I have looked before. Also would prefer not to buy a prepaid visa because I would need to spend $65 worth of BTC to get a $35 card, and with shipping I dont even know if that would be enough. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
