Ok, i assume , or atleast hope, this is the best board to post this to, if i`m wrong please correct me.
So to keep it short. Let`s say someone used to work for an company who sells airline tickets to customers from U.S and Canada. And therefore would have special agreements with companies whom would give them better fares. So the thing here is, this company would cheat software for years, and sell tickets for cheaper than they actually cost. Explanation: A costs, 500$ B costs 700$, A is sold out, although only B available, cheat the system to make it think A is there, sell as A , profit, cheat airlines. Airlines don`t even notice, for long period. Major ones.
So is there any reward for making somebody know they are being rippedoff by someone. Or whatever ?
>>1233897
So it sounds like you are saying that this ticketing company was using a software glitch to cheat the airlines?
Well if you tell the airlines, best case you'll get a pat on the back.
You could contact the ticketing company and threaten to release this info unless they pay you.
There is also the posibility that the airline knows about this issue and does not give a fuck.

whistleblower laws - but usually you only get a payoff if the government was getting screwed somehow (like if you uncover medciare fraud - that can be mighty profitable)
Need advice, apologies if this is elementary bullshit;
I live in Canada, and things aren't looking good for our dollar, or our industry. I have $10k I have been sitting on and I don't know what the smartest move would be to protect it or encourage some growth, I want to pay for my kids' school one day, my mortgage and house is already paid off. Should I go with a TFSA and invest low risk, or do something else?
>>1233772
Buy a bunch of Temple Hotels and put it in your TFSA.
They own hotels in Alberta, including half of the market in Fort McMurray. They got fucked when oil went down, but the fire is a real blessing for them.

Strategies for studying for and passing the actuary exam without enrolling in some overpriced program?
I'm a math/econ major so I'm guessing it should all come natural
which one is it?
exam 1: mathematical interest theory
exam 2: introduction to probability theory (ross)
those r the books, and probability theory isnt as simple as it looks, you gotta learn it
BORING
>>1233589
Have you taken a course in probability theory yet OP? It can take some time to learn. Definitely doable to self study if you've taken multivariable calc, but you'll have to devote some time if you choose to study straight from the Ross text.

NO NO NO
Notice that wages declined after 1970.
1970 is a key date in global history.
Its when the globalist agenda was officially born which led to outsourcing, open border immigration, deregulation and systematic eradication of the manufacturing sector in major western countries. Though the emerging economies don't have it too easy either as their sole survival depends on the West's mass consumption of cheap imports

Just needed to let us know that you follow the news?
Anyhow, a lot of that fall is stop loss trading (not minimizing the horrible numbers). Looking in detail at the report may reveal an underprice, therefore a buy.
In others news, incredible news for YELP, 20% up so far.
So I had my life stolen from me and I refuse to ever work to rebuild it again, after the stupid fucking, ILLEGAL way it was stolen from me.
As of now I get $830 a month disability
$1200 a month section 8
$220 a month food stamps
I'm 29.
How to
A. Get richer without building a business only to have it destroyed again
B. Enjoy what I have more
Honestly I wish I could enjoy sitting around playing vidya but after building a successful business in the past I have too much ambition.
>>1233450
you say you have too much ambition yet you dont want to start another business?
>>1233450
If you have ambition, just take the risk out d building a business and go for job security with an established company. Many companies respect the skill set required to provide toir own income

Because it was destroyed by illegal means and malevolent people and the cops refuse to enforce the law, and upheld their shit.

Oh yeah, im back.
ETH will be $50 by the end of summer.
Bitcoin will be $250.
Either keep your depreciating bitcoin or get on the Ethereum life boat.
How do I negotiate salary at a part time, minimum wage job?
Is it even possible? I'm probably going to get offered 8.25 an hour. Is it a pipe dream to aim for $9.05 an hour? This is my 3rd job ever btw.
If it helps, I feel like I'm highly qualified for the job and have another interview lined up with the competitor adjacent to these guys.
>>1233141
Wouldn't work in that environment.
Maybe if your boss was a total bro or something.
Negotiating salaries is more for full time office jobs for example, and trying to negotiate your salary as a part time burger flipper might make you seem a bit narcissistic and unlikable.
>>1233143
It's a job at advance auto parts
I have an interview next door at autozone as well. Can this be used to my advantage?
>>1233144
Sorry. Judging by what you wrote I assumed you worked at Mcdonalds and had an interview at Burger king or something.
That environment is a bit better, but again, your chances aren't high. Maybe just casually bring it up with your boss if you have a decent relationship with him and see how it goes.
Up until recently, I thought the upcoming recession would be deflationary, and was only preparing for that.
Now I realize it could be either, and I'm trying to plan for both simultaneously.
My current assets;
400k USD
1.2m AUD
300k diversified stock portfolio
150k USD in BTC and ETH
175k USD in Gold/Silver (physical)
No property.
Cash is king in a deflation, but i feel i have way too much and it may just melt away with hyperinflation.
Thoughts on how i should better prepare for both deflation/inflation?
I'm thinking more precious metals may be the best route.
>>1233112
Get some property my dude. And give me some of your AUD pls.
>>1233115
Property in AU is extremely overpriced at the moment. I don't really want to buy into it.
Jesus, the fact that someone uses 4chan and has a small fortune is weird to me, lol I got 3k worth of silver, a few hundred dollars worth of bitcoin, 9k in savings bonds, and basically 1000 cash. Then again I'm a broke student who lives with my parents.
Has the internet killed the paperback market yet? Would starting a small local publicatioin be worth the effort.?
I'd say so.
I still buy physical books though, and I'm sure a lot of others do but it's certainly not very lucrative.
>>1232845
I had the idea of starting a small magazine showcasing local artists in my city. While advertising for small businesses around town.

Am I wasting my time trying to sell a TV on Craigslist?
Their hippie faggot peace sign makes me think the site's filled with faggots and commies.
The only messages I've gotten are from scammers offering money orders or cashier's checks despite my ad explicitly stating cash only.
I dunno, you're just an idiot probably. I've sold cars and car parts multiple times though craigslist
>>1232777
>Am I wasting my time trying to sell a TV on Craigslist?
How much is the TV worth? How much are you selling it for?
honestly unless it's modern you're probably wasting your time. Craigslist has you deal with a lot of scammers, Indian faggots and such. So if you're only selling some garbage that's been in your mom's garage for 5 years then I wouldn't bother.
>>1232793
It's worth $200 selling for 200
Doesn't anyone negotiate on faggot Craigslist? I'd probably accept first person who offers 150
