As for investment, when I was in your situation I started putting money in index funds. Because they were skyrocketing. Half an year later I had a totally different portfolio. It all depends on how the markets are in your country. Just do the math and see what gives more money for the risk you're willing to take. Review your plans every 3 months and reallocate as needed. Won't make you a millionaire quick, but is probably enough to make you reasonably comfy in your mid 40s.

Pretty much this. I'm in a similar situation. All my friends graduated in 2014, I needed an extra semester but failed that too. I'm finally going back this fall.

I prefer to see the bright side of it: I get another chance to go out and get laid and have a fun college experience. There is truly no other environment like university, so many passionate and smart people. Real life is way worse, everyone is stupid and hopeless. Even renting a house/flat may require some additional investing if the users are shit and break something. A parking spot is just a piece of concrete.
