It's completely unnecessary, but many people find it helpful in order to manage their personal finances. For example, having an "emergency fund" is one of the best things anyone can do to improve their financial situation and prospects. But it requires discipline and diligence to not dip into the emergency fund except in case of true hardships. For some people, using their normal bank accounts for their emergency fund makes it too easy to use these moneys for daily needs or impulse purchases. Thus, establishing a separate account creates a "physical" separation of their monies that helps them stick with their goals.

Similarly, many people are very bad at understanding their spending habits and where their money is going. This can led to poor spending habits and poor savings rates. Having separate spending accounts can give greater visibility into your cash outflows.

Whether any of this is helpful depends on the individual. For many, I imagine it can be quite helpful. Others can achieve their goals of managing their financial buckets without creating the actual separate buckets of separate accounts. Personally, I find that financial software (e.g., Quicken, Mint) helps create visibility and separation even with pooled accounts.

What you should do is whatever you need to follow best practices for your money.

Besides the obvious expenses (rent, equipment), you should look up technology expense (setting up and maintaining electronic entry) and insurance (kinda like a pool with no lifeguard ain't it?), as that would be the most expensive.

Snap Fitness has a similar model, but they also have people there for set hours during the day, but people aren't there all the time and the "staffed" hours seem rather limited. After all, someone has to be around to sign people up and whatnot.

So, I would get quotes on the obvious expenses, and tech, and insurance, because those are going to be your biggest obstacles.

It will be cost much more money than $10 and all payments will be done through an app. As for cleaning and what not. Each member is responsible for cleaning after using equipment and yes I will be there to supplement that.

This is a very good answer. I also want to add that under consolidation, you don't always have "one giant fucking business that just does everything." Depending on how they want to manipulate their tax returns, ownership, responsibility, etc., a lot of companies fiddle around with Parent Company and Consolidated Business 1, Consolidated Business 2, etc. and so on, and can make strategic gains out of this ownership/accounting/tax manipulation.

It's not stupid. You travel to a new city 500 miles away. You want an Uber. Uber doesn't supply service to new city because new city law banned it last year, even though Uber had been operating successfully for years before that. Now there's a company called DangleFitzFuckers4U that offers the exact same service by a lot of the same old Uber drivers, for even less money, but you don't know about it and it seems sketchy as fuck when you see it in the apps because you don't know about it. You don't use them and call a taxi.

Pfft, I'm only leaving the grandkids a trust fund, but my kids only get college paid for and the benefit of some connections I've made.

Why? I can avoid fucking up my kids if all I get them is an upper-class education and connections, because the education part is what I figured out on my own having middle class parents.
