Hey biz, what would be a better extra monthly income, helping to own a small town food shop or pennystocks?
>>1300377
I don't see why you can't just do both. I don't think penny stocks take much effort from what I've seen in the RobinHood threads. I'd say do both; just pay attention to the RobinHood generals that are here and you should be fine.
>>1300382
I just dont have time to do both thats why I ask
>>1300386
It takes maybe an hour at the very most to do swing trading on Robin Hood.
Ethereum will double in price in the next month
That's insider information, and illegal. You're going to be arrested.
Only double? To DA MOON it will go bro.

Why do all you fags care about money so much? There are more important things in life desu if a trade goes bad nobody dies or loses their home/wife and kids.
Feel like nobody cares about the environment or earth and that all people care about is money. Also on a side note did any of those banking fucks get what they deserved for fucking over the average American citizen circa 2008?

I'm looking for a crash course in buying/selling stocks. I want to play around with robinhood but I'm starting off with zero knowledge of any of this. I need to learn the terminology and what to look for.
>TLDR: where's a crash course in day trading.

First question. Should I open a new bank account to link to robinhood? Who should I open this account with?

No.

Hey /biz/ I got an important bussniess meeting in China in a few weeks. They expect me to drink a lot when I go out on the town with them if I ordered gin and tonics would I come off too uptight?
What are some good drinks for a semi formal meeting biz and what is your personal drink of choise, the board could use a fun thread once in a while.

Is buying a laundromat just a meme, or is it actually a good idea?
>>1299755
Just don't open one near another laundromat.
Laundromat owners are very territorial.
>>1299776
I really meant being part-owner of an already existing one.

I have just under 103K USD in BTC and I have decided to cash out and end my business. The problem is I have not paid any tax on this income and don't know how to go about it.
If I just withdraw the funds into my bank is there a risk of the IRD (our version of the IRS) coming after me for tax evasion?
I don't want to break the law and will pay what I need to, I just have no idea how.
I live in New Zealand so I'm not sure how similar the system is to the states.
>>1299665
why not just keep it as BTC? it's better for the economy. once you spend it the problem becomes someone elses problem, then hopefully they decide to spend their BTC and so the economy grows and the price of BTC rises.
>>1299669
I'll probably keep a sizable chunk of it in BTC because I believe the price will likely rise and also for future transactions, but I really want to cash out so I can start investing on the NZX and ASX.
>>1299665
I don't know tax law in your country however here's what you'd do if you were in the US.
Generally, the following gifts are not taxable gifts:[5]
>Gifts that are not more than the annual exclusion for the calendar year (For the year 2015: $14,000 per recipient for any one donor[6])
>Gifts to a political organization for its use
>Gifts to charities
>Gifts to one's (US Citizen) spouse
>Tuition or medical expenses one pays directly to a medical or educational institution for someone. Donor must pay the expense directly. If donor writes a check to donee and donee then pays the expense, the gift may be subject to tax.
So, if you don't need it all right now, your best shot is taking it out 14k each year until you eventually have it all out.
When pulling it out you could also split it between your bank and paypal to make the money harder to track. If you have a spouse you could pull another 14k out to her bank account and her paypal. Get a friend or father to promise to testify if need be to say "Yeah I had a bunch of cash saved away in my safe that I gave to him as a gift".
That gives you 48k for this year. Then you can repeat again next year to get the rest out.
Hi /biz/
I got a credit card, first timer. $1000 limit, no annual fee. So far I've paid it fully every month and never paid interests. Now, every site out there tells me I shouldn't buy anything that I can't pay fully in a month - most of them ride on how terrible snowballing is and how you should never let it slide, so you must only use your card as a soft credit rather than go ballistic
Now, I want to buy an oscilloscope, $600, which I can't buy on cash. I could save for 5 months and get it, or I could whip out the card right now, and according to my calculations on a ~4% monthly interest I'd pay ~$60 total interest through 5 months.
Paying 10% extra for having the scope 5 months early is a pretty sweet deal to me, so I come to you, is there something I'm missing? You just have to pay (monthlyInterestRate)x(averageDailyBalance) for interests, ain't it?
>>1299560
They gave you credit. Just run that shit up, man.
Fuck the oscilloscope and just read a book.
>>1299569
I've read too many books I need to apply that shit
I own some land outside of Flagstaff, AZ (between 1 and 2 acres). When I bought it I had intended to use it for solar farming, but then I started reading up on the land use laws and I don't think I'll be allowed to do it legally. The land is zoned as Agricultural Residential.
What should I do with it?
pic related is what it looks like.

Launch a missile at the San Andreas Fault, but only after luring Superman to your lair so you can drape him with Kryptonite.
Start a tumblewerd farm

Grow trees and then process them into biofuel. Or maybe closed loop algae farming to produce biofuels if water is too expensive.
So I had this idea to buy a couple of humble bundles when they are out with good games and resell them.
How good is my idea?
>>1299486
Absolutely retarded. The market will be flooded with other morons doing the same thing (and people who just sell the games they already own / don't want)
>>1299486
you obviously have not done any research how many ivans sell cheap games
Ok guys hear me out.
Humble bundle montly from march costs 12$
one game in it ARK: survival evolved sells for 17$+ dollars
I am just stupid or cant you sell humble bundle keys anymore?
GEVO and VBLT. Gevo is pretty much going to get bought out before July 25th by either Boeing or ALK. ALK already is going to acquire VA on Thursday, it's a no brainer. Hopefully it'll hit $10 within 6 months. Holding GEVO until I make a healthy profit.
VBLT has presented the best data at ASCO and I'm waiting for it to go up. I'm looking at $22 pps
Thoughts on NVCN?

/biz/, what investments have you made lately in order to make millions when the market inevitably undergoes another recession?
Everyone is predicting it now, it will probably happen in a few months, so now is the time for the put options and short positions
who else is waiting for the crash to buy so we can make 5000% return by buying low lol
>>1299353
Some financefags (like Bill Gross) are saying we are not going to see the returns of the past 40 years again in our lifetimes, for as long as interest rates remain low. It's almost mathematically impossible because of how much assets would have to appreciate in order to generate those returns at this rate.
Kind of depressing. It's not like we'll be poor, but none of us may ever be as wealthy as our grandparents unless we take CLUTCH yolo shorts right before the next recession.
>Everyone is predicting it now
It probably won't happen then
What are the utilities like on a 8000 sq foot house?
>>1299256
Depends on where you live, how many people in the house, the quality of the house. I wouldn't expect the cost for an 8,000sf house would be 4x that of a 2,000sf house. Prob between 2-3x.
>>1299256
about 3 fiddy mate
>>1299256
My parents live in a 10k sq ft house and it's about $1800 total for utilities. Property tax and repairs included, around $3000 per month.
