Yeah, tell me about it, will say hi from my summer trip, festivals, flights, hotels, candies.. all already paid with crypto money, also invested in some other stuff to diversify, starting couple of webs, and hired a android and web dev, bought some domain names, and built 2 mining rigs, still having much more money than what I started with.

I know a guy who trades natural gas futures from his home office. He is often up and down $50k. His problem is that if he's up $50k he thinks it will go up to $150k. If he's down $50k he thinks it will "come back". It's exactly like an addiction to him. He's trapped and powerless to get out of it.

How does one calculate a net worth (a number that says for how much can a 100% share in a company be sold for) of a small to medium sized company (100k - 5 million yearly revenue)?

I know that there are many factors included in this (such as its uniqueness on the market, growth potential, etc.), but talking only from the economical point (based on the companys revenue, profit, debt, etc.)?

Please give me some basic ways to calculate it.

Ill also give you an example to calculate:
My friend has a company based in middle Europe, he has his own brand under which he imports (80% of his product range) and manufactures (20% of his product range) various organic food and organic eco cosmetics. He sells his products in various retailers across Europe (he sells it directly to them - not through a distributor, so there is no middle man), his total revenue in the last year was 1,3 million EUR and his profit was 154k EUR (36% growth in revenue since the last year, 60% growth in profit since the last year).
He is 100% owner of the company, has 12 employees and he founded the company 6 years ago.

Thanks.

Market Capitalization is the Base of all the Discounted Future Cashflows.

Beyond that People often ask for Premium on top of that.

But most people use fast little ratios. Annual Margin/Price= Capitalization Rate.

You define your desired Cap Rate.

Some businesses aren't Price on Net rates but Gross Rates. Typically the Gross Revenue Multiplier is used.
There is a standard for each business type.
http://www.businessesforsale.com/search/import-and-export-businesses-for-sale

looks like imports go for 2.5x-3x Net or .8x-1.2x gross
>>
>>1306065
I am quite confused by your post, but you say that "imports go for 2.5x - 3x Net or .8x - 1.2x gross" - does this mean that I should calculate the price of his business like this:
either
a.) "gross" (his yearly revenue multiplied by .8 - 1.2) = 1,04 million EUR - 1,56 million EUR
b.) "net" (his yearly profit multiplied by 2.5x - 3x) = 385k EUR - 462k EUR

Correct? Or am I missing something?
>>
>36% growth in revenue since the last year, 60% growth in profit since the last year

You basically cant tell, honestly. The growths are far too wild to make any reliable estimations for the next few years.

Can someone spoonfeed me a rundown on major Stock/Investment/Financial programs out there? As in what you guys use, analytical, etc. I have one year left on this degree and I refuse to believe everyone just lives inside Excel.

Pic related, 3 year analytical stuff I made on S&P500 Stocks. Only took an hour or two to make, but I'm lazy enough where even that's too long.

Did you build that. Why didn't use the CAPM or FF3M to fine the expected rate of return?
>>
>>1307300

Because I'm only just learning this stuff now. The course I'm taking is only just starting on Beta / 3-Stock Portfolio analysis now, but I'm finding this stuff fascinating so I wanted to see how else I could apply it.

What's FF3M? I've never even heard of it.
>>
>>1307300
Fama-french 3 factor model.
Just the capm with the size and value premiums added in.

Learn more about premiums like momentum, liquidity, profitability, investment ect.

Oh and beta and standard deviation are bullshit. You care about down side risk not upside

I live in Latvia.

I hold most of my savings in Euros.

Since Brexit is quite possible, how could it affect Euros and my savings and what would be the smartest move for me right now?

On a serious note. I am in CE, I like it. I hope you enjoy learning math. It can be challenging, but, if you put in the work from the start you will get a good GPA and get a good job.

Look in to the unis/colleges you want to go to and look at the classes they offer for CE and see if it's something you would like to do. Btw, CE isn't mainly programming, Software Engineering is the programming one. Alot of people assume because I'm in CE I know lots of programming languages when so far I only know java.

You will be respected, alot of normies say "wow" when I tell them I am in CE.

You don't know shit.
Buy an index fund just so you understand how the logistics of investing works.

Learn a few things like P/E ratio, some accounting ratios and maybe some basic technical analysis like moving averages (don't learn to much, most of it is voodoo science).

What's your goal? To learn? To make a consistent return safe return that beats inflation? Retirement in 40 years?

Also, don't listen to these shills.

People that own securities constantly bump the price up (especially in low market cap securities) so that if you buy it it will increase in price and they can get a better price for their crap.

People that are looking to buy a security also shit on it so that when they make holders sell the shit cunt can buy them at a cheaper price.

Thank me later.

What do you mean by this?
Do you mean interest on bank accounts?
I would define that as 'innate' income....making money off money.
There must be other ways to succeed in this endeavour.

I am picking courses for my 3rd year and ultimately deciding my 4th as well. I am 100% majoring in finance but am having trouble picking electives. Considered a double major in economics or just easy business courses for inflated gpa.

Thoughts? Advice is much appreciated.

Take accounting classes. The best way to learn how to read a financial statement is to learn how they are made.
>>
>>1309389
This is good advice. I majored in finance but I took one extra financial accounting class and one extra managerial accounting class than I needed to and I'm glad I did. Just getting that extra familiarity with financial statements and internal financial reporting metrics will give you more confidence when you're interviewing or starting your career. If you can take any kind of programming class with a focus on finance, do that. I suck at writing macros and I often end up having to find roundabout ways to do certain tasks in order to make up for my lack of programming skills.
>>
>>1309389
This is the correct answer, although inflated GPA may be better coming out of uni.

FAQ regarding Robinhood
> How is it free?
They invest your unsettled funds after a trade.
(It is also pretty basic software)
> When is it coming to my country?
Probably never. They only have plans on an Australian beta ( https://robinhood.com/au/).
> It has been X days, why is my account not verified yet?
If it takes more than 3 days, try emailing their support. They are very good.
> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, am I being jewed?
No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.
> If I have Robinhood do I need to worry about 'Free riding' violations?
No, it is not applicable for limited margin accounts (instant), and if you do not have instant, RH will not let you buy with unsettled funds.
> Can I use Robinhood on my PC?
Yes, download an android emulator. Setup is extremely easy. http://www.memuplay.com/

FAQs tangentially related to Robinhood:
> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
thinkorswim is bretty gud if you want to go open a second account with real broker.
Yahoo Finance, Google Finance, TradingView, Investing.com, and even StockTwits all have charting capabilities.
