How much money should you put in an emergency fund?
As much as possible.
6 months' worth of expenses
>>1310111
Like 3-6 months living expenses is good.
Any more isn't really worth it imo and any less is too little UNLESS of course your "emergency fund" is your parents.
3-6 months is just enough to find a job if you were to get laid off, or liquidate your other assets if absolutely necessary
I have no respect for rich people. When you are rich you totally change. money brought it out. Only other rich people understand this. and this is why rich people hate other rich people so much. They see through each other. But when middle or lower class or students hate the rich they come together, because they are terrified of a revolution.

>>1309807
Okay. So? Now what? It's this gutter thought musing passing for an enlightened epiphany actionable? If not, why should I care? If so, how?
Why do ALL rich people buy big giant houses? Just to show off how rich they are? Why can't some humans just be complacent?
Really makes you think...
BTC trading between 680 and 700 all week.
Coinbase's 1% fees kill it though.
Any better way to trade these small fluctuations in price?

Should I major in Accounting or Software Development? What one is a better career choice?
Software development if you want a job, but you can learn any code yourself and freelance if you want. Gotta fight the monkeys from India though.
Accounting is a stable and solid choice I'd say, likelihood of getting a decent job is high, though I think a good dev will probably make more.
The thing is, even though this is probably a lame answer on le /biz/: just pick whatever you like best, both are good choices that put you well above average
Probably not the answer you're looking for but trust me on this. Major in the thing that you like the most.
Accounting is a solid major and will get you a job, so is software engineering.
>>1310105
Literally this.
If you don't like writing code, you are going to fucking HATE software engineering, until you get to management at least. Some times you forget one space or misspell one word and millions of lines of code just stop working and you gotta stay up until it's fixed. However it is a very rewarding job and the industry is massive, you can do whatever you want with it.

FAQ regarding Robinhood
> How is it free?
They invest your unsettled funds after a trade.
(It is also pretty basic software)
> When is it coming to my country?
Probably never. They only have plans on an Australian beta ( https://robinhood.com/au/).
> It has been X days, why is my account not verified yet?
If it takes more than 3 days, try emailing their support. They are very good.
> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, am I being jewed?
No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.
> If I have Robinhood do I need to worry about 'Free riding' violations?
No, it is not applicable for limited margin accounts (instant), and if you do not have instant, RH will not let you buy with unsettled funds.
> Can I use Robinhood on my PC?
Yes, download an android emulator. Setup is extremely easy. http://www.memuplay.com/

Can someone please explain to me how to do income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements?

Watch this:

or read any basic Investing book. I would reccomend A random walk down wall street.

Why the fuck are you in accounting
Income statement is Revenue - expenses = NI
NI - div is retained earnings sheet
balance sheet is Assets = liabilities + Stockholder's equity.
all things on one side must equal opposite on other, cash is an asset, must be debt, equity, or revenue. Revenue is stockholder's equity, debt is a liability, and equity is also stockholder's equity. It's the same for all equivalents
Cash flow sheet is delta cash or other liquid mediums of exchange movement year over year, typically compared to the prior year. This is typically split into operations, financing, investing. Operations is all things related to direct things the business does. Financing is the cost of raising/lending money. Investing is the acquisition or sale of capital used to create value.
Go fuck yourself
